Dear Lord, help me to slow down enough to embrace the friendships you have placed in my life. And if I am lacking true friends, please open my eyes to those in front of me who would be just that. Not only may I find true friends, Lord, but make me one as well. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Trusting God -

Lord, I have to admit I'm completely helpless when it comes to my eating habits.  I need Your intervention.  I need Your guidance and wisdom with every food choice, large or small.  Help me place my trust in You, Lord - and give me the courage to make some changes in my life.  Amen

Lord, I have to acknowledge that I haven't always come to You with my problems.  Many a time I have turned to other people and things, especially food.  Help me always  to look to You for my answers and not the other things.  Continue to teach me to use food in the way You designed it to be used in my life.  I continue to praise You for your help and forgiveness when my eyes wander from the goal of seeking You first.  Amen

Lord, I thank you for the enthusiasm to begin this journey.  I couldn't do it without You.   I pray that You will remind me, when things are a little tougher, that You have been with me every step of the way.  Amen

Thank you Lord, for guiding me to this and giving me the strength to start this new way of healthy lifestyle. On my own, I have given up so many times before. With you I will be able to keep up my determination to keep track of each one of my food in the daily log. Today is the first day I got my fat% down below 30%, I know it was from your strength alone. I could not have that all by myself. Thank you for all that you have given me. I praise your name, dear Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for your blessings of leading me to this site where I can share my faith so openly. You have blessed me by other members touching me with words of encouragement. I look forward to each new day with excitement.

Lord, I have to admit I often fall into the trap of thinking I have to "fad" diet in order to lose weight quickly.  I've purchased products that didn't do any good.  I've eaten so-called healthy foods in excess, but I haven't really learned to live in balance.  My doctor is insisting I have the gastric bypass surgery. Help me in this area.  Lord I want to lose weight but I want to do it your way. Amen

Father, I thank You that Your love is not conditional.  Thank You for loving me in spite of my flaws.  Teach me to rest in Your love and to walk confidently through each day as a result.  Show me how to love others unconditionally, and give me strength for this journey, I pray.  ~Amen

Lord, I have to admit that I overeat sometimes.  I keep going even after I am full. I ask You to forgive me for this, Father, and help me to stop when I should.  I also ask You to fill the empty places in my heart so  that I don't reach out for food with false hope.  Help me make better choices. ~ Amen

Lord, thank You for revealing Your truth to me.  Help me not to compare myself to others or to worry about my plan versus their plans.  Deliver me from the spirit of competition and help me see that You love me as the individual I am. ~ Amen

Father, I know that with Your help I will never be tempted beyond that which I'm able to resist.  Help me to resist giving in to an overabundance of poor food choices.  Help me overcome my addicitons, I pray.  I give those things over to You, Lord. ~Amen

Dear Lord, help me with this recent water retention. I have gained 3.6 pounds above my starting weight. I am taking a water pill to help get the water off and watching my sodium intake. Please be with me and keep me from getting discouraged at the weight gain. I know there is nothing I can do except watch my sodium intake, take my pills and pray that the water comes off. I pray for your guidance to keep me steady with my healthy eating plan, I thank you for that. I give all of this over to your care, dear Lord. Amen.

Dear Lord, you are such a magnificent God and I'm thankful that you would care about me, that you would choose to know me and that you would sacrifice your Son so that your earthly children could someday enter into your presence and worship you for all eternity.  But I think sometimes as we see your glory and we see your good we sometimes forget who causes the evil in this world.  And we forget that as much as you love us the evil one hates us and would do what he can to thwart our good efforts.  I hear him tempting me and taunting me and telling me that I'm not good enough, and that I can't do this and that you don't love me.  Please Lord, help me cast Satan aside and when I hear him call to me, please Lord, let me stop and be still so I can hear you.  I know the unhealthy life I'm leading is not what you'd have for me.  Please Lord, help me to hear you, help me to be who you'd have me to be.  I want to be a light unto the world for you.  Amen.

Jesus, help me to first seek the Kingdom of God, because this is what you said we should do.  My Bible says that if I first seek the Kingdom of God, then God will take care of everything else.  Help me learn ways to apply this in my life--every day and every hour.

Lord, today is the day I'm making a decision to change the rest of my life.  I consciously choose to follow You and Your plan for my life.  This includes my habits and my patterns of eating.  Have Your will in me, Father.  Keep me strong in You. ~ Amen

Praise be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Who forgives us of our sins and gives us mercy when we do not deserve it. Thanks be to God for his grace that He bestows on all of us.

Thank you Lord for your word which encourages us to continue to fight the good fight. Thank you for all of your promises for each and everyone of us.

I pray Lord that all of us and all we come in contact with receives your word and knows your word. No matter if we are babies or adults in our walk with YOU please place your word in our hearts. Please let us use your words to meet our goals and to encourage others.

Thank YOU for not condemning us in our failures but forgiving and encouraging us. Thank YOU for being the God of many chances and not losing faith in us.

Lord, today I start by asking You to forgive me for my jealousies and insecurities.  Keep my eyes focused on You and not on others, Father.  Help me not to worry about what others look like, or to compare myself to them.  Thank You for placing value in me.  Now give me the strength I need to become all You desire me to be.  In Jesus' name. ~Amen

Father, I have to admit that I've been looking at the mountains in my life - the foods I love, the meals out, my extra pounds - and seeing them as impossible to overcome.  Today, I speak to those mountains.  Help me to see that for You even a mountain is no problem. ~Amen

Matthew 17:20 (NAS)   And He said to them, "Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it shall move, and nothing shall be impossible to you."

Lord, I know You may see my need for financial provision and good health.   Help me to overcome this nagging doubt that getting into shape is going to be too costly.  Help me plan carefully, implement strategically, and live faithfully. ~Amen

Lord, I pray you will send just the right people to "lift my arms" (when I am tired and no longer want to go on) during this journey to get in shape.  I need encourgers.  Lord, help me also to be an encouragement to others.  May we, together, look to You for the answers we need. ~Amen

Father I thank You for awakening me to this new morning!  Please help me to begin this day with rejoicing, and with praise to You on my heart and lips for keeping me through another night.

I also praise You for the promise of Your Word that your lovingkindnesses never cease, and Your compassions never fail, but are new every morning.

I commit this day to You.  Help me to keep You uppermost in my thoughts, and help me to magnify and glorify Your great name in all that I do and say.  I pray this to the powerful name of Jesus.
