What is your opinion of the bodybugg arm band?
Asked by ruthzstew on Jul 10, 2009 in Weight Maintenance

I am trying to maintain my weight loss.

Answer

The bodybugg® is a computer the size of a deck of cards that you wear on the back of your arm.  It calculates the calories you burn throughout the day by measuring your motion, steps, heart rate, skin temperature, and the heat you dissipate.  You log your food intake into a program at the company’s website, and before bed, you upload the information from the bodybugg into your PC or MAC, and the program calculates your calorie deficit.  According to the manufacturer, the bodybugg has over a 90% accuracy rating - but it is expensive.  The regular price is $299 plus $15 - $25 a month for the online food log, and you need the monthly subscription to make the computer work.  Bodybugg's online food log is quite weak compared to Calorie Count.
