anyone else read about her opening up about her weight gain in her upcoming magazine? i dont know but if i had a gazillion dollars and access to personal trainers and personal chefs, i think i would have way more of an advantage of getting slim
I love Oprah, but in that sense, she drives me absolutely nuts. I could go on a rant, but I'm in a lazy mood.
You know what, screw Oprah. I realize she has made all her money the hard way and was never given a hand out. I respect her for that, don't get me wrong.
What I HATE HATE HATE about her is her "hey I'm just one of the gals just like you" crap she pulls. No, you're not. YOU ARE FREAKIN OPRAH WITH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
How the hell can you be fat when you basically can hire personal chefs and trainers to LIVE WITH YOU and FOLLOW YOU AROUND ALL DAY? I don't understand. I would hire someone for $100k a year and their sole job would be to follow me around 24/7 and bat cupcakes out of my hand.
No sympathy for Oprah. None.

I did it for you
money doesn't buy willpower I guess

that's why you hire the guy to physically wrestle food away from you

For real. If I didn't have a "real" job and real "responsibilities" like housework and laundry and whatnot, I'd be SMOKIN hot! Are you kidding me? Someone does the dishes and cooks and works my 9-5? My ass is in the gym everyday and I eat what my special macrobiotic-zone-glycemic index-no carb personal chef makes me everyday.
Hell, I'll wrestle food away from Oprah for $100K. I could take her...
I don't like the direction this post is going. Money does not = willpower. It buys high quality amazing food that most of us probably never will experience in our lives. Chocolate Truffles anyone?
Oprah is a busy woman, and I bet she has her own problems. 200lbs is NOTHING. Her low low was 160 over 10 years ago. So they're harping on a 40lb gain. In 10 years? Shes not a blimp. She's almost 5"7. What do you think Oprah's ideal weight should be?
Shes also in her 50s. Give her a bit of a break. She admits shes embarrassed, but really why jump down her throat?
I just hope her journey to become fit and healthy opposed to THIN will work for her. Hopefully that means no more liquid diets, and more about learning nutrition.
As for her chef, she goes through many. I've actually met one of them. ACTUALLY one of her chefs works at Paradise Bakery now in Phoenix. Go figure. I just wish her the best.
Don't care for her or her magazine. I think she is a racist.
The problem is that she didn't do it for the right reasons. She still doesn't have her mind right. She sees herself as a failure. She completely disregards the extraodinary things she has done, sees no value in her achievements. In short, she hasn't learned to love herself.
It ain't about money, or handlers. It's about loving yourself enough to fight through your self-destructive impulses. it's about embracing the process as part of the victory instead of seeing it as merely a means to an end.
Once she can learn to love herself and separate her emotions from the process - no more victory laps and no more self-abasement, her weight loss will stick.

Yeah because wanting to promote the good works/talents of African Americans is racist.
Why does anyone care about her weight anyway?
Who is Oprah?

Oh, just some lady with gobs of money......and apparently as many people who hate her as love her. ![]()
Although I'd love to have enough money and time to have a personal chef, trainer, shopper, etc ... I don't think we can point to Oprah and say since she has all these resources that her battle with weight is any easier than ours ... after all there are a lot of reasons that people over eat, and it's often not as simple as 'we like cheezies' ... Oprah's no differnt than any one on this board, she's human and I'm sure she eats from emotions, stress, etc, just like us. Money does not make one immune to life.

Funny, I always got a racist vibe from Oprah too.
I'm indifferent to her. I don't see her appeal though.
HELL! She got Dr Oz in her azz pocket, and Bob Greene in her guest house in California, and she is going out.......... Trying to help people lose weight, and sign these damn contracts to do so, and she still look like that. I blew out my thyroid, and that's why I haven't been losing weight she said. My aunt had her's removed, and she works like hell not to get any bigger than she is now. What's your excuse O! I do like her- Don't get me wrong. But come on now. I'm am so sick of seeing her- so call promote some of these diet aids that are out there, and see no damn results from her using the crap now. That berry tea crap. Pops up, and there is the 8 years in the past Oprah face.. Saying. Hi I'm Oprah. Blah Blah Blah statement.. GTFOOH with that crap. I don't want to hear about that..WHEN YOU going on a diet OPRAH! I mean really WHEN! She has the money, and she can pay someone to rip the fat off her AZZ. Hey everyone.. Send Jillan butt to her. She will tell Oprah to get your Effing azz over here.. You're not done yet.. That's who she needs.. Jillan from the biggest loser.. Pay her that mill you give Bob, and free rent toO. Or have she giving him a house too.. Like she did Her BFF.

Promoting the good works/talents of caucasian americans would be considered racist
That's bull because she promotes various people.
I love it when whiteys get all in a tizzy because they aren't the center of attention.

It's exactly what you said. I didn't change your sentences when I quoted you.

I wish anyone the best, but I stand by my statement. If I had someone making every one of my meals and a trainer all but living with me...I mean come on. Let's be real here.
