Any other mom’s interested in an accountability group?
Hello! I’m looking for a small groups of mom’s like myself who would be interested in starting a group to hold ourselves accountable. I’m thinking weekly weigh-ins (maybe naming a 1st place winner for most pounds lost during the week, no prize money involved of course just the satisfaction of losing the most weight ;o). And maybe we could also post our average daily calorie count each week to hold each other accountable for that too. I’m open to all ideas! I just know the best way for me to resist temptation is knowing I have someone out there to report to. And it would be great to get ideas and inspiration from other women facing the same challenges that I am.
A little about me, I’m 28, married, two children ages 4 and 2. I work fulltime so finding time to workout and eat healthy is my greatest challenge. I currently weigh 180lbs (the highest I’ve ever been) and my ultimate goal weight is around 135.

Today the scale says 172.5 - my calories are supposed to be 1230.
Worked out yesterday on the treadmill and upper body weights. Today I'm doing the treadmill and lower body weights and an ab workout. I hope the scale gives me good news tomorrow and even better news next Tuesday...
Hawaii in 13 weeks and I really want to be down at least 10 to 15 pounds by then....fingers crossed and chocolate gone..... :-)
Hi everyone I missed the weigh in yesterday so today my start weight is 165 (yuck) I am up 10# from last summer. I have been working out on the treadmill 30 min or walking the kids in the stroll daily. I have this huge problem, night time eating. Any hints on getting it under control. I know I have to keep a food journal, but when I eat something I shouldn't I just stop writing it down.

try to clean up the kitchen after dinner. like put everything away, clean the stove, take everything out of the drain and diswasher, clean the sink, wash down the counters, take out the garbage, sweep the floor... this way you will not want to make a mess in the kitchen after your done.. that and you can add the cleaning to your cal count! plus after all that work you will only want to go to sleep.. The other thing is try not to buy snacking type foods... they aint good for you or anyone else in your household.. good luck, I hope I was some sort of a help.
Thanks! I'll try, I just have to be conscious of what I am doing ALL THE TIME. Mindless munching I am a pro at it.
arnt we all. I try not to touch anything in the house that I havnt bough seeing how I live with my inlaws and my mother in law buys loads of munching foods... she says its cause she was deprived as a child.. than she wonders why since she moved out of her parents house that she is so much larger than she used to be! uhhh duuuhhhh.... haha!
Hey Neelie....I go brush and floss my teeth for 15 mintues or so....making it extremely difficult to want to eat - cause of the taste and how clean my mouth feels....
ok ladies Im making it official I have changed my weight loss goal! I want to be at 125! Its not an end all be all number but that will be my ultimate goal. My must be weight is 135, but I will strive for 125, CC says I should be there by March 2010. Yea ok, Im shooting for june.
I also want to report on my Cal for yesterday, I did somewhere between 1000-1200! I know thats low but I didnt feel hungry or anything. Today will be a lil higher. but Im tryn my best NOT to go over 1500, EVER AGAIN! if I can do that I should be amazing!
Also I know its not weigh in but I did lose .5, its not much but its the first change in a week's time! go me!

I just did my first weigh in yesterday, and I've lost 2 lbs! Yay, I am so excited! If I can keep up the moderate weight loss at this level, I can lose everything by the end of October like I want to. I have been doing too great in the calorie area the past 2 days. Yesterday, I splurged and had my husband get me some candy at a whooping 300 calories last night. Not my best day, I must say, and the day before, I ate about 1600. My total calorie expenditure is only supposed to be 1263, but I find it really hard to stick at that so I end up eating more like 1300-1400 most days. Oh well, going on a trip and I hope the rest of you have a wonderful weekend!

So, I am a bit behind the eight ball joining this group, but I hope it is still ok. I actually want to lose more than 50 pounds, and hope that is ok as well. I started my diet on July 17th (isn't it funny how we can remember the day we start to change our lifes?) weighing in at an astounding 220 pounds (SHRIEK, GASP, SIGH, CRY) my heaviest EVER! I recently added a nightly walk of 2.5 miles, and am completely ADDICTED to them now =) Recently being Monday, lol. I weighed myself the other night, Tuesday I believe, and am down to 208! YEAH! YIPEE! WOO HOO! I struggle to get in 1200 calories per day, but am giving it my best shot. I often times find myself rummaging through the cabinets at 10p.m or later trying to get them in, but can usually find something healthy, a banana, Special K cereal, something of the sort. So, anyways, good luck to all you mommies out there. I am with ya. I believe that accountability, motivation, and the support of good friends is the key to our success =)
Hi, i just joined this evening. I would like to join this group also. I have a 2 1/2 yr old girl and my little boy just turned 1 today! I weigh only 8 lbs less than the day i had him and he was 7 lbs 12 oz, so you can see how much progress i've made in a year!! I am currently 162 and would like to be around 130. Anyways, i hope you all don't mind me joining.
Welcome newbies! I just got home from a weekend at the lake house and did "decent" I ate in moderation and drank only water. I weighed myself when I was there and if its right I actually LOST weight. I did not have access to the internet so I was not able to log my food intake on here. Momto1pink1blue how did you do?

I know its not Tuesday yet but I have Great news!!!! I had 2 parties this weekend and went out to dinner last night (had a piece of cake for desert) and I managed not to gain weight but better yet, I lost a lb this weekend Fri I was 157.5 and today I am 156.5! phew! I was 157.5 for almost 2 weeks! But I am back in the game! Tomorrow I am starting back on my 30 day EA active challenge and will be walking/using treadmill (depends on weather). I also have been trying to stay UNDER 1500 cal. with bf, my deficit is about 1000 cal a day!
Jessigrl, you will get there! just eat a few less cal a day! having a two kids burn a whole lot of cal! and WELCOME!!!

haha! I have no idea when I actually started! when I got my scale I was keeping track of stuff but I had already started a month or 2 before that, tryn to work out... but I have no exact date... some time before I started cc, it took me a while to find this site. I didnt realize it was ".about.com"... im a lil slow.. haha
Ok I know it isn't weight in day, but my official CC weigh in is on Thursdays and I had lost a total o 8 lbs that the first week. Today is Monday and I am a little aggravated that I am up .2 lb and I am as die hard as last week. Calories check, excercise check....arrrghhh...I have to quit looking at that darn scale everyday.

I had a great vacation, however I have no idea what my calorie count was because the Internet wasn't working. But I think I made pretty good choices, snacked on fruit most of the time and tried really hard not to overeat like I used to. Although I did enjoy some of the treats, so I'm really interested to see what tomorrow's weigh-in will be for me. Definitely don't think I lost weight like you massconfusion!! But I'll be happy if I managed to just maintain and not gain back the 5lbs I've lost since starting here on calorie count.
Sounds like you are all doing great, Chupsie going to parties is definitely a struggle for me, I try to make the healthiest choices without announcing to the whole room "hey I'm on a diet"! LOL! Great job still losing weight after your busy weekend! I didn't get a chance to workout much on vacation so I'm definitely looking forward to getting back on the elliptical this week. And Juanajem DEFINITELY don't stress about .2lbs! I always give myself a little "wiggle" room because I know my weight will fluctuate depending on what time of day I weigh myself, full stomach or empty, water weight, etc. As long as my weight is generally going down I'm happy! Batooke I love the idea of brushing my teeth right away, I never feel like eating after that! Usually I do it right before bed but duh doing it earlier to curb nighttime snacking is such an easy and great idea!
Hey momto1pink1blue! I think it would be a great idea to start a group, but I don't know exactly how to do it. I would gladly join, however! :)
yea I think starting a group would be a good idea, I have to keep going to my email account to find this thread. All the other threads I post in pop up on "my posts" except for this one... anyway. I messed up yesterday I was so tired and lazy that we had mc'd for dinner. and I only eat the Angus burger from there cause it actually tastes like meat so I had that and fries... I also had a few sips of Raspberry Iced tea (talk about drinking cal) anyway... I am proud to say I didnt blow up like a cow I am still at 156.5! Although I have a stomach ache from dinner last night. (today I will make better choices.
so I am down 1lb for the week! I am happy with my loss! I feel that I am losing and keeping the weight off! I had a lil extra for breakfast this morning but its ok. I am also Happy to report my cal count to be a steady except for last night. I figure my cal for the day are split in my three meals:
350 for breakfast
400 for lunch
500 for dinner
(this also leaves alot of leway for if I go over .
Mommyto1pink1blue Im happy that you got to enjoy your vaca! it seems like you had alot of control too! good for you! I cant wait to hear from the rest of you ladies to see how everyone's week has been! Hope you all did well!
I'm still at 175!! I know it's not a loss but I'm SUPER excited that I didn't gain any weight over vacation! Woo Hoo! I don't have an average calorie count to report for last week since I was gone, so I'm excited to see what that looks like for me next week...
Chupsie fast food is totally my weakness when I'm tired, I know exactly how you feel! And especially when I have a headache or am just not feeling well, unhealthy junk and "comfort" food always seem to make me feel better... I wonder why that is? But you must be doing something right to be able to eat at Mc d's and still keep the weight off, great job!
Ok, I will see if I can figure out how to start a private group and invite you all into it. But for now hopefully we'll see some more weigh-in's today!!
Good job girls!!!Well I am happy to report I lost 1 whole pound! No its not huge but Im fine with a pound a week. My average calorie intake was 1200 except for Saturday and Sunday Im sure it was much higher at the lake....but I did ok I guess. I have been doing alot of squats lunges and using weights. I can already tell Im getting stronger when I first started I barely could get through my squats with no weights and now I do them with 10lb dumbells! Im pretty stoked about that. I think we should make a private group. I have to go to the link you sent me to get here..... or I would never find it.

haha, kind of I was tryning to weigh textbooks on my scale about a half hour ago and I decided to see the difference between me and the text books(the scale doesnt register just the textbook~6lbs) anyway I decided to weigh myself I was thinking I was 156.5 like this morning. IM 154.5!!!! WHAT!!!!! anyway I just ate and im fully dressed. I dont think its correct but it gives me hope for my daily check tomorrow! I dont know how I got that number but if Im down another 2 lbs i think im gonna start doin a happy dance!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!! that would be 3 LBS this week!!!!! ok im not gonna get ahead of myself. I will update you all in the morning... (keepn my fingers crossed!)
