Any other mom’s interested in an accountability group?
Hello! I’m looking for a small groups of mom’s like myself who would be interested in starting a group to hold ourselves accountable. I’m thinking weekly weigh-ins (maybe naming a 1st place winner for most pounds lost during the week, no prize money involved of course just the satisfaction of losing the most weight ;o). And maybe we could also post our average daily calorie count each week to hold each other accountable for that too. I’m open to all ideas! I just know the best way for me to resist temptation is knowing I have someone out there to report to. And it would be great to get ideas and inspiration from other women facing the same challenges that I am.
A little about me, I’m 28, married, two children ages 4 and 2. I work fulltime so finding time to workout and eat healthy is my greatest challenge. I currently weigh 180lbs (the highest I’ve ever been) and my ultimate goal weight is around 135.
So let me know if you’re interested, I look forward to hearing from you!
Good Eveing everyone!! I want to vote as well for a group, but am not sure how I would join either. May need a bit if instruction on that front.
On another note, I am HAPPY (estatic may be more like it, but....) to report that I am down another 1.5 pounds for a total loss to date of 13.5 pounds. WOOHOO!!!!!!! This is after a not so good weekend and Monday. I spent the entire weekend painting at the fire hall (my hubby is a firefighter) and of course, since we were all busy, we didn't make the best food choices. I did not get in my walks either because we were there for 11 hours both days!! Last night unfortunately, I had a migraine and couldn't get out of bed to complete my walk, so imagine my suprise when they scales said what they said this morning. But, I do have to say that it makes me want to get back in the saddle and get going again. Tonight I have done well with a total of 1052 calories and a 3 mile walk.
Anyways, Happy Tuesday everyone. One day closer to the weekend!!!
~Melissa
I weighed in Friday for my Biggest Loser competition at work and won! Last week I was the BL for our group! I am so excited. I have lost 3 lbs this week and am down to 186. Not much but it is going in the right direction. I can't wait to see how everyone else did this week.
Nice Job everyone! Massconfusion 1lb is awesome especially when you were at the lake, jealous of you! And Jules looks like so far you’re the biggest loser here too! Although sounds like Chupsie just might be tying with you! And Melissa I’d say 22 hours of painting would more than compensate for a few unhealthy food choices! That sounds like a ton of work, no wonder you had a migraine! I get those all the time too, they’re awful, and usually when I get them all I want to do is eat greasy, cheesy unhealthy food full of carbs, for some reason fruit and veggies just DO NOT sound appetizing when I have a migraine! So great job to all of you, I’m so proud! And then there’s me with no loss, but at least no gain! Now I’m even more motivated to beat you all next week LOL ;o) Hopefully the rest of our mom’s will weigh-in this week too!
Ok, I’ve created our group. Now I just have to figure out how to invite everyone into it… so look for a message coming from me soon, I think that’s how I’ll get the invite to you all!
Hi allI missed the weigh in on Tues. I lost 2# Ya!!! Is this where we are going to still post our weights?? I receive the invite and replyed just wondering where the weekly weigh in is going to be. Thanks and good luck to all this week
Chris
Hi ladies, Im still at 156.5. (damn scale).. anyway I never received a notification... can someone send it to me... talk to you soon! neeley thats amazing! 2 lbs is great!
Hi everyone, had a great week. Lost another 3lbs. Makes my day. Calorie counting is working much better than weight watchers did for me. I can eat, not feel guilty and just have to be "ACCOUNTABLE" for each calorie I consume. By the way Skinny Cow ice cream sandwichs are my treat, love them. Great job to everyone. We can do it.

Count me in, I need to help! I've been bouncing from diet to diet and not having any results. I'm a 33 year old mother of 2 ( 3 1/2 & 2). I am a whopping 189 and should be around 158.
I really didn't realize I was as bad as I was until I saw a photo from vacation of me in a bathing suit- rear shot of course. I was mortified and now feel so self concious that I can't stand it.
My max is 1400 calories per day and I'm realizing that I've been eating way too much. Any suggestions for low cal./ satisfying food would be greatly appreciated. I had to throw some popcorn in the microwave so I wouldn't go to bed starving.
I go to boot camp in the morning, but have some serious challenges in the week ahead- a three day business trip with a bunch of guys will really test my will.
Hi kerteach! I know what you are talking about with having a hard time at night. What I have found that helps prevent me from being too hungery at night is to eat a really good amount of meat or protein, (around 5 oz if meat, or 1 - 1 and 1/2 cup beans), and then a couple of servings of vegetables. The protein will satisfy more than almost anything else. Hope this helps!
I am definently in on this! Great idea! Nothing like a little motivation to get you going ;)
So, I am a new mother....gained about 50 lbs with pregnancy, and would like to get down to my ultra low old weight of 110 lbs. Even 120-125 would be nice!!! I currently weigh 157 lbs and stand at 5'4"ish...but I have always been a thin build, though now I find that I am more of a medium build with like no muscle anymore...especially in my tummy :(
So, my new plan is to cut calories, and work out like never before! I want to feel normal again, and gain back my muscle and enjoy looking at myself in the mirror. Not that I am obese, but I miss my old body. Though, regardless of the change in my figure....I would NEVER take back having my gorgeous baby girl! Love her to death!!! So please, do not get the wrong idea! She is the best thing to come into my life! I just will be happy when I get back to looking like the old me...just with stretch marks ;)
I am sure everyone would agree c_teatro our children are worth every pound and plus some! Thats what is motivating alot of us is wanting to be a good example for them and be in shape so we can actually run around with the kids. Children are the biggest blessing ever!
I would love to be apart of this if I could. I am actually in the same exact boat! I am about 180 also the highest I have ever been and I am currently seeking to be 135. I am a nursing mother so I would only be able to lose a few pounds a week but I would feel great about having to be accountable for those few pounds.
Hi There Ladies! I'll try to get you all added into our private group. I think we should start doing our weekly weigh-in's there from now on since it's hard for a few of us to get back to this thread. Hope to see you all over there!
Hi momto1pink1blue!
Do you think you have a rather large group, or can I tag along, too? I've never done anything like this before (online group chats, etc) so my feelings won't be hurt if you think the group is too large already, etc.
I'm a 40 year old mom to three boys, ages 16, 14, & 12. I'm 5'7" and 160 pounds, up 25 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I work out often and have flirted on and off with calorie counting, but have never had the dedication for more than three to four days. I get a little cocky the minute the scale moves a pound or two and then fall completely off the wagon. Like many of the other moms, I look in the mirror and wonder who that person is staring back at me. Clothes shopping is my least favorite activity; nothing fits! So, I would love in to see if maybe being accountable gets me over the "diet" and into a better lifestyle.
HI, I am a mom of 3 boys from 9 years to 3 months...so busy. I had a hard pregnancy that had me in and out of hospital. Delivered early...bedest the whole shebang so I packed on the pounds. I was 135 pounds my biggest prior to pregnancy. close to 190 at delivery. Currently 165. Want to be 130. Been eating right but stuck here at that weight...so I am in if the group is still open.
Hi, I would like to join as well. I am 34, have 2 kids, 13 and 10, and 3 step kids, 11, 3, and 1. I am 192 right now and have lost 4 pounds since I started CC. My goal is to lose 60 pounds of fat and gain 10 lbs of muscle mass. I joined 24-hour fitness last night and am looking at getting into the Biggest Loser program with them. I am hoping to drop some big numbers like they do on the show!
It would be awesome if I could drop 5-8 pounds a week. I plan to be working out about 3 hours every day. Of course, this is all with the help of the trainers at the club and the nutritionist.
I'm getting married in May and can't wait to fit into my dress! If I DO get to my goal, I am going to get a different wedding dress than the one that I have already purchased!
Wish me luck!!!
I'd like to join, its a great idea! I'm 26, have 3 kids, and for me its all about balancing time with everything else. I'm in!![]()
Hi everyone! Wow there are a lot of peeps that have joined this group, Hooray, That's terrific. What a wonderful idea by the way "having your peers to answer to" & keep ourselves accountable. My name is Alexis and I am 27 yrs old & I have a 7 month old baby girl. I weighed myself today 11/11/09 & I am 140 lbs. I am 5'2. My goal is 120 lbs. by late April for my wedding day. So far with c/c I have lost 7 lbs. Oh, and I find it very difficult to exercise. I figured with other moms around they might be able to tell me how they "make" time to exercise. I don't have the money for a gym and it's freezing over here in Idaho (I KNOW EXCUSES, EXCUSES) LOL. I did say I hated exercising, right? Ha ha. I usually swim and hike a lot, but I dont want to take my baby outside for too long now that winter is here. However I would be so grateful for any suggestions from other mom's out there. ![]()
Alex - I see you are into gaming... Do you have a WII? If so, the WII fit and the WII active are great tools in working out. You will have to do it a little longer, but you can stay in your house while doing it and still be moving instead of sitting.
