i met one of my juniors today. we havent seen each other for maybe 3 months, and the first thing he said when he saw me was "you've grown fatter."
least to say, i'm completely surprised. "whatever." i tried to play down the matter.
"no, i'm serious. you've really grown fatter."
and that, my friends, made me a very determined dieter. i will make sure i get thinner and let him know that there is just sth wrong with his eyes, really.
anyway, just wondering if you guys had any hurtful/ frank/ weird/ ridiculous comments thrown at you before which made you more determined to achieve your goal. maybe we can check whether these unwelcome comments that are given free-of-charge have lasting and positive effects on us ;)
My mom said something kind of similar to me, while trying on clothes the end of my freshman year. I was so excited to leave for this trip to Paris & it made me feel fat the whole time. Either way it is nice you are motivated but that was a jerk thing to say!
Always remember to love yourself, big, small, fat, thin, white, black, green doesn't matter
my ex boyfriend said that this fall when he saw me at school. It's a horrible feeling and unfortunately for me it set me back. I'm proud of you for becoming more determined. I hope that I learn from you to take such things in stride and not be so hurt.
I was in Golden Spoon- and this little girl behind me looked at me looked at her mom(who must have been 90 pounds!) looks back at me and points- and declares "Look mom, fat girls can be pretty too!" That was the worst back handed compliment of all time :( It definitely made me order a small yogurt though instead of my large :)
I love my roommate but she's got talent with back handed compliments. I was going on a diet and she was like oh I'll do it too...that way you can have my fat jeans.
...she doesn't need to go on a diet at all by the way.
My boyfriend said, when I told him i was thinking about eating healthier, "Well, you definitely weigh more than you did when we started dating."
ouch
But I'm motivated now. lol
MY boyfriend and family are super sweet and say they're worried about how concious I am about my calorie intake.
But then my mother will ask me "Did you eat that WHOLE bag of grapes?" or "Do you really need to eat that yoghurt?" or "Ithought you were going to the gym today?". And my boyfriend will say sweetly "You don't need to lose any weight, you look great! But just don't get any bigger...okay?"
It just really bothers me...the mixed messages really piss me off. My family wants to amke sure eat enough, but then make me feel like a fat ass when I do. It's frustrating to say the least.
But I guess I'm being sensitive. And those things definitely make be want to do an extra 20 minutes on the eliptical. :)
