I woke up this morning and couldn't open my eye because the light in my dim lit room was just too much. My eye was watering and tears are pouring down my face. I got an emergency appointment at a vision clinic that's open on Saturdays..and it turns out I have an infection!
My eye feels like it's bruised :( He said it's like an ulcer. The only thing that isn't too bright is the light from my laptop..help me kill time!
that sounds horrible! What did you do to get an infection in your eye?! You poor thing!
My contacts were old and I forgot to reorder some, so I had to wear them because I have no glasses. It must have warped and it irritated my eye badly, and bacteria got in it.
It's doing much better today!
ohmygod..thats my worst fear...i hve been wearing contacts for more than 8 years now..i have seen a friend go thru this infection...it was painful..i am so sorry u hav to go thru this...hang in there!
I had an ulcerated cornea too! It was the worst pain, and plus there was the intern/learning how to be an eye dr dude who did every test known to man on my eye, including using stick like things to keep my eyelids inside out and dying the insides different colors. ugh!
i feel SO bad for you. the pain is tremendous. glad to hear you are at least feeling a bit better. be forewarned: once this happens, it is more likely to happen again. the eye that it happened to has never been completely comfortable again.
I had a corneal ulcer for the same reason and it got pretty bad. I thought it was pink eye till I went to a walk in clinic to find out what it was. I had to go to emergency to see an opthamologist and was prescribed 3 different types of drops for my eye which I had to put in every 3 hours! I had to get up in the middle of the night to put these drops in my eye and needed to put the 3 drops in my eye with a certain sequence. It was aweful! To top that off my eyes are pretty bad so even with thin lenses my glasses look like bottom of coke bottles and wasn't allowed to wear my contacts for about 3 months and constantly had to follow up with the eye doctor to make sure it was healing properly. When the drops were finished I still had to put synthetic tears in my eyes along with another topical that protects it.
Not fun but I am happy to say I still have my vision and will never neglect my vision again. I hope your case is not as bad as mine was =)
Ouch, that sounds awful. I hope you feel better soon.
So, just how old were your contacts??? I usually only change my contacts every two months!!
