Get outside more this summer!

Quote  |  Reply

Why hello thar YCCers.

I was just wondering if anyone else has the goal to get outside more this summer. I have the tendency to get lazy and want to spend the majority of my time cooped up in my air conditioned house with my shades closed. Upon reflecting, I've realized I have some great memories of all the times I went outside during the summer, moreso then I do having inside.

While I don't get a summer break this year because I have to study, that doesn't mean I'm going to let it take away my time in the sun.

And I want to make this summer a good one, so I made it my goal to get outside more. Anyone else have a similar goal as mine?

I'm trying to think of what I can do outside.. by myself.. during the summer. Aside from walking to places and back for the fun of it, and maybe drawing on sidewalks with chalk, or riding my bike, what else is there to do? Does anyone have any suggestions?

What are you guys doing this summer to get outside and enjoy the lovely hot weather? :)

Swimming.  Awesome.  I love to hike.  Walking.  Have a trampoline?  Biking.  Yeah you've pretty much got it covered.  Get a buddy to go with you, so much better.

i would but im not fond of skin cancer, sunburns or moles.

Thank goodness for sunscreen! buy SPF 30, apply, reapply, and you can enjoy the weather without worrying about skin cancer or sunburn.

OUtside more? Love too, except it's, like 105 in the afternoons and I'm not allowed to do anything but swim outside in that weather. That's after spending 2 hours in the pool in the morning, and sometimes an extra swim practice in the evening.. I love water, but 6 hours (3 for exercise, 3 for play) is too much.

Visit a local amusement park or make a habit out of frequently going to children playgrounds. Go to the park and read on a bench. Get some rollerblades and learn to use them. :)

that's definitely a great goal!  i'm trying to get outside more often too...i love going for walks or run around my neighborhood or bike rides.  see if you can get a friend inolved; my friend and i go on "sporty walks" as well call them :-) too bad in the northeast the weather has been so horrible this summer i haven't been able to get outside too often!

i bought some rollerblades awhile ago. this summer i hope to learn how to use them. that's my goal.
