any oval faces w. double chins?

Quote  |  Reply

just wondering if there is anyone else out there who also has an oval face like me. if only it was more structured.. thing is when i gain weight i seem to gain it quite easily.. particularly in the face, resulting in a double chin! =[

i had it in the past and never want it again =[ it really messes with my self esteem and proper knocks my self confidence.

i see people on here who weigh like 102lbs and they look stunning! no double chin, nothing. if only i could weigh that much and not have a double chin =[

Sorry I have no idea what shape face I have lol

I thought it was oval, but maybe its just fat haha

Im starting to notice I have a pointy chin, I think the 9lbs Ive lost have come from my chin as thats the only place I can see a difference

102?! Of course they don't have a double chin! That's ridiculously low!  I weigh about 160 right now (I'm afraid to step on the scale, so have made it a point not to weigh myself until the end of october).  When I am about 150, I've noticed that my chin region has no extra flab... or very little.  However, I'm also very athletic, so my 150 is probably a lot of people's 120-130ish.
I have an oval face and I gain weight in my face quite easily. My chin is rather small so it can look as though I have a double chin. It was much worse when I weighed more. You can see the trouble I have with my chin in some of my picture gallery. I still don't like my chin but I'm going to wait till I loose the last 25lbs of my weight before I think about doing anything drastic like Lipo or chin sculpting.

I have this problem too! It really sucks, I used to be really self conscious about putting my hair up because I felt it only made my face look bigger. But hey, at least you don't have a round face shape, because it seems like no matter what they weigh, their faces are just, well round! Think Renee zelwegger, she's said before she'll lose weight with the hope that her face will look smaller, and that girl is a stick!

katespanx i totaly know what you mean! i used to always wear my hair down but i somehow now have the confidence to wear it up..

it just makes me feel so down about my self sometimes *sighs*

p.s. good luck with the weight loss rae852004!

Look at my pic. . . . is that an oval shape? I definitely have the double chin thing going though. It always seems to be there even though I've reached my goal weight, and BMI is on the lower side of the healthy range.
hi, misfit89 your face appears long to me. more like the oblong, or rectangle shape.  i suggest consulting with your hairdresser to spice up your do and balance your facial features.

Oval Face - Length equal to one and a half times width.

Round Face - Your face is as wide as it is long. This may vary a little but generally the measurement is close.

Oblong (rectangle) - Longer than it is wide.

Heart (triangle)- Narrow at jaw line, wide at cheekbones/and or forehead.

Square - your face is about as wide as it is long.

Diamond - Widest at cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw line of approximately equal widths.
mrsklm, your hair is beautiful and looks to be naturally curly, am i right? anyways, you have an oval face, but (no offence) you have a long forhead. an awsome dramatic sidebang (see my photo gallery pictures for a better idea of what im referring to),  would look awesome on you, and balance your face better, giving it a slimmer appearance.     BE WARNED> with your curly texture, you would really want to consider using a CHI iron, or any other really good flat iron to wear your bangs smoothe. Otherwise you will be left with bushy, wild bangs.
rae and misfit, I have a face shape similar to one of yours and have always considered it 'long' not oval, like absterry says. I too easily get a double chin and am self-conscious about it. I feel ok about my face shape only when I'm bordering on too skinny in the rest of my body. I don't know if there is anything one can do about it short of surgery. A good haircut has helped me out some.....
yep, naturally curly. . . thanks for the advice and compliment! : )
if you have a shorter forehead, you want to wear your hair away from the face, bangs just shorten you up.   If you have a longer forehead, asymmetrical bangs can help create more balance.   Balance is key!   Just look at my friend with the red hair,  thin body frame and big hair is GREAT on her! It balances her out all over!   sorry, its just the hairdresser in me talking. .....  shes a hairdresser too......
I know this is like a woman dominated thread, but I'll put in my word

I have before and after pictures of me and you can definetly see the changes in my face. The reason why I'm losing weight is to have the jaw line and cheek bonesshow more, and if the abs and great body come with it, thats a plus. The chiseled look is what I'm aiming for.

If you're a female and want the nice, defined cheek bones like Heidi Kloom, you just need to have a lower fat percent. And the weight comes off your face first, so once you start losing, you'll see results. And they'll keep getting better.

Diamond - Widest at cheekbones, narrow forehead and jaw line of approximately equal widths.

That pretty much sums me up.

hi mrskim. i took a look at your picture and the double chin thing you say you have going on is hardly noticeable.. maybe some sort of fringe would make you feel better although it could be tricky if your hair is naturally curly.

thanks for your post absterry! i thought my face is oval? either way i still suffer from the double chin thing :(
i heard your a hairdresser.. looking at my photo, (and my face shape) what sort of style would balance out my features? (im currently wearing my fringe asymmetrical - like abit off centre if thats what it means)

hi finchcat, do you have a picture? i too get self-conscious with the double chin thing and also only feel ok when im looking too thin in the rest of my body! i wish i could weigh more without having to have the worry but i know i'll never be able to pull it off! btw what haircut did you get?
