Over 30 Club, here I am!
Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me....
Today I am 30. Mixed feelings...glad I lost 85 lbs before getting here...sad to see the "party decade" go...looking forward to increased respect (vs. oh, you're only 20-something, what do you know)...a little sad that I haven't started a family yet. But VERY VERY glad to be here! :)
Any advice from those who have crossed over to the triple decade (or beyond)? I think I'm wise enough now to learn from the experiences of OTHERS!
I am still a kid at heart, I do not even think I act 30, Nor dress 30, maybe I need to grow up, BUT I DONT WANNA!!
I turned 30 in January. I can't think of any advice. I don't feel any different now.
Just remember: Turning 30 (40, 50, 60,...) beats the alternative.
eta: It's mandatory that you now change your user name to alicat30. ![]()
I will be turning 34 in December. I remember when I turned 30...i almost cried! I'm over it now. My husband is 40...so he makes me feel younger. Plus, i make fun of his age and it makes me feel better about mine :P
Hang in there.....When you turn 40...you'll look back and wish for 30 again.
i'll be 30 next year, and i've already resolved that my 30s will be infinitely better than my 20s (which won't be hard, since my 20s royally sucked!).
besides, i hear 30's the new 20. it sure will be for me!
mazel tov!
Thanks girls for your words of encouragement! Sounds like I'm in some pretty good company this decade, too. ;)
Having been over 30 for...8 days now...I can say I'm REALLY "over" it. Feels no different, and as a side bonus the metabolism jolt from eating ice cream, lasagna, piles of cheese and birthday cake for a few days then going back to clean eating has helped me drop a few lbs...closer than ever to my goal!!
Your post was very encouraging to me because I am trying to lose 85 pounds before MY 30th birthday next summer. How did you do it? How do you feel? My reasons are similar- I want my 30's to be happier, healthier, and slimmer than my 20's.
I just feel like I know more and I use what I've learned from all my life lessons. Becomming older just means you have more experiences to make you who you are.
And 30's are sexy!
I turned 32 this summer. My friend is still only 29, and I really don't feel that much different from her. You are as young as you feel, I guess! My mom said that she felt young her whole life until she turned sixty. Then she started to feel like she was sixty. So, maybe we have about thirty more good years! LOL.
Keep up the positive attitudes!! That helps so much in reducing stress and whittling away the pounds. Keep plugging away, keeping with the healthy eating, regular exercise (including muscle-building...BIG fan of that), and non-food rewards! Aging is inevitable, but I feel like I'm marching towards improving myself with every passing month. :)
Welcome to your 30's!!!
I loved turning 30, always looked forward to it actually, when I was in my 20's, I always admired the confidence of the women in their 30's.. they just seemed happier, more comfortable and confident with themselves .. I love being in my 30's .. I know i hold my head up higher and although i'm not a danty thing I still think i'm one hell off a catch now ... as opposed to being 29 and thinking i should still have my 23yr old body (cuz at 24 is when gravity found me) .. lmao .. Anyways .. toot your horn, raise your glass, cuz 30's are where it's at ... confidence in yourself is all ya need !!!!!!!
