I want to start a club for those of us who have a lot of pounds to lose. Anyone interested?
I am 39 years old and weigh 226. About 3 years ago I was at 261 and managed to loose 47 lbs. I got pregnant with my son and gained a few back. I recently started excercising and eating better. I hate strict diets and cannot stick to them. I am eating lowfat and cutting down on portions, so far I have lost 5 lbs. This site has been a big help to me. I have about 85 more lbs until I get to my goal, which will bring me down to my goal weight of 147lbs.
I'm 32 and weigh 212 only 5ft 2inches. I am basically doing the same thing I am trying to eat better and not restrict myself from alot of food. Because if I tell myself that I can not have something then I want it. I have a five month old which it makes it hard to get exercising in. Any Suggestions?
i would love to join I am 5'3 and weigh 211 :(. I hate looking around the site and seeing people who weigh 112 lbs lol im so jealous
Hi, everyone, I would love to join too.
I'm 32/F and weigh 242lbs at 5'5".
As a step one, I am trying to become aware of every morsel that passes thru my mouth. CC site has been absolutely invaluable for that and so far it's been quite an eye-opener. As a step two, I am trying to slowly bring down the amount of calories I eat from upper to lower 2000, with eventual goal of eating around 1800 calories. I say slowly because anything drastic sends me into a bingeing frenzy :(
Of course the number one reason I love this site is all the support I get from the wonderful people here. And I could really use all the support I can get from someone who has a lot of weight to lose like me.
Also almost 2 weeks ago I've quit smoking and joined a gym for the first time ever and I am actually very excited about working out (no, really, I can't believe it myself :)
Trapp, I just saw a show called Housecalls (Mon-Fri 11 a.m./7 p.m. ET) on Fit TV a few days ago (I never watch Fit TV before, so maybe someone familiar with a show can chime in). The premise is 2 trainers coming to an average person's house with suggestions how to incorporate every day items in their household for a workout and also how to make everyday chores part of your exercise. Maybe you can check it out.

Hello all!
I'm 50yrs old, 5'2" and weigh 207. I started about 2 1/2wks ago and started at 214. Battling menopause, high cholesterol and triglycerides. I work out 30 min 5 days a week.
My first step was to change the food I was eating. I didn't worry about portions, just changed the food so I would develop a taste for healthy food. Then I started controlling portions. Now I love eating healthy. Don't do sugar or artificial sweeteners, eat lots of veggies, fruit, legumes and fish. Cut back on red meat. I snack on almonds between meals. For dessert each night I have Fat free yogurt with a fresh fruit in it and a little honey. Honey is the only sweet I allow myself to have. I feel great! Am loving my work-out routine.
My goal is 125 lbs. Only 82 lbs to go!

Hi all I am F 38 200lbs I have been struggling with my weight my whole life I've gone down to 115lbs to my highest 220lbs I quit smoking 2 years ago and gained about 50lbs I have been working out and dieting for about a year now and only lost 20lbs:( does anyone have any suggestions on what to jump start the weight loss I work out 6 days a week I run 5km 3x a week and aerobics 2x a week and weights 1x I also eat between 1100 to 1200 cal a day
lillyrose & trapp, I agree with you. Everytime I've tried to restrict myself to a diet that only allows you to have very limited foods, I end up failing because I ultimately binge on the foods I wasn't "allowed" to have and lose motivation and gain more weight than what I started with. I have been on so many types of diets and haven't been successful. So, this time I've simply decided to do the math - less calories & more exercise. I still eat what I want, just not as much of it - that way I don't feel deprived of anything. I think once I get closer to my goal weight I will re-evaluate what I am eating and eliminate any "bad" foods. But, for now I need to stay motivated and get some of this weight off. I am determined to succeed this time!! The battle with my weight has been too much a negative part of my life.
I am excited to see so many people joining up on this club!! It's nice to know that I'm not alone in my struggle. Continue with the good decisions everyone!!

Hi everyone, I'm new - 28 yr old F, I've also struggled with my weight all my life and am close to my biggest now at 211 (although I've lost 15lbs or so).
lcbolduc: I'm having the same trouble as you - in the year and half since I had my first child I've tried EVERYTHING, herbalmagic, dietpills of all kinds, cleanses, exercise, other diets, and nothing but water weight came off. I tried something new this past week and I see a drastic change - B75 complex. It is supposed to help increase energy and decrease anxiety one of the reasons women have trouble losing weight (that stuff about cortisol is real I guess). Your B vitamins are a big help with that. Since I've been taking them I've noticed a HUGE difference in my mood, energy levels, and I've dropped some weight. In addition, I thought I would try Relacore (a Cortislim knockoff). This is on top of calorie reduction and exercise. I can't say which it is, or if it's a combination of all of it, but I have definitely noticed that for the first time in a year and half, I'm losing weight and feeling less anxiety.

Hey there Club members
I'm a 37 year old Kiwi who has just joined the gang. I'm the biggest I've ever been and it's very laughable. (Well that's all I did today, after I weighed myself.) I have 48 Kgs to lose which sounds really daunting. The good thing about the weight gain is that it is due to giving up a nasty smoking YAYAYAYAY, so not all is bad.
I know what I need to do to get the weight off as I used to do Amateur Body Building comps (a while back) so it's just a matter of getting dedicated in my head and hearing about how everyone else is doing.
Keep up the great work!!

Thanks loopyhour I will give it a try it sounds like exactly what I need. I already take a multivitamin but I will try the B75 complex on top of it. I hope it keeps up for you and I'll post again to let you know how it goes
Hi guys! I'd love to join this group, if its not too late!
I'm 21/f and weight 211lbs. I just started on this site, like, 2 days ago. I joined a gym yesterday and got my first 20 min workout today... (20 mins was about all I could handle for my first time). I've been overweight my entire life and would love to get this monkey off my back.
I'm not in it so much for the looks (although that's definitely a bonus) I just want to have more energy and be healthy. Nice to meet you all!

Trapp32, use the baby as a weight for exercise. Take walks for cardio. Lay on your back with your knees bent and bounce him/her on your legs (hold your belly in tight). Lift the baby up and down. Things like this will serve a double purpose of togetherness and exercise. I did these things way back when my babies were babies and it really helped... a little hard to do when they're 21 and 23 years.
hey is there room for one more in here? i jusy found this site a few days ago...i weigh close to 300 ....have gained 100 pounds since getting married 2 years ago(darn guy can cook).....trying to eat about 1600 cals a day.....
I just have to share this because I am so excited! I weighed in this morning at 259.5. I had a starting weight in December of 275. I am so excited!!
congrats thorhalla....
wow! congrats!!!
Unfortunately, I fit right into this group.
I'm 41, 5'4" and weigh, as of today, 212.5. I started only last week at 220lbs so I'm feeling pretty motivated.
Three years ago, I decided to stop 'dieting' and just eat healthy and balanced meals. I managed to maintain my weight of 200lbs and I was okay with that. Since this past Christmas, I had gained an additional 20lbs and I know it's more from alcohol than from food. As I became depressed about my weight, I made bad food choices and drank a lot more and I was beginning to feel crappy all the time.
In January, I started dating a great guy and I weighed myself at his house one day (I didn't have a scale) and when I saw 220lbs, I vowed to get back to eating healthy and excercising. I now have a cool scale of my own and with seeing some results so quickly (I've lost 2.5 inches already), I plan to go all the way this time.
This site is great in keeping me motivated. Even though I faltered on Wednesday by going out after a movie, I just came on here, logged my food and got ready for the next day.

I'll join!
Started working at it again on January 8th at 254.5 lbs (5'7"/42y/oF) Always struggled with maintaining a healthy weight and health problems now making it even more difficult to lose and get active.
Now 238.5, lost 16 lbs so far - eating around 1000 calories/ 4 g fat per day and excercise 3-4 x week for 45 mins. My goal is to get into size 18 pants by spring break- and down to 200 by May. Ultimately would like to be at 170 by September 2007.

Hey all! I'm new to this group, but I see I have a lot in common with the rest of you. I am 37F at 5ft 2in and 270 pounds. I have a goal of 125, so I have a long way to go. I started at the new year at 278, so I figure 8 down in a month is not bad. I was at 286 in mid-December, but I got sick and dropped 8 then - buring 103.5 fevers for a couple weeks will do that for you.
I have a very "tricky" diet, sort of. I have to eat between 1600 and 1800 cals a day to lose. IF I eat less than 1600, I gain. If I eat more than 1800, but less than 2600, I stay the same. More than the 2600 and I gain. Also, I'm pretty sensitive to salts, so I can do a single day gain that is all water-weight, and take it right back off the next day.
My 2 biggest problems so far are, 1) drinking enough 2) getting my full calorie count in. It's so much easier to just not eat than to try and hit that target zone. Anyone else with this problem? What do you do for it - especially the fluid intake?
