Thanks Beck-

Yea I like Applebees they have good food and they do have a good menu for us dieter's. I have about 7 pounds to go, but we will see I might change my mind depending on if I like it or if I think  I need to go down a little more...I will not drop any less than 220, that will be bottom line.
Hi everyone,

What if i'm not eating the calories that i need?  I'm supposed to eat about 2200 calories a day, when i log down everything i eat, calories would only total up to about 1100-1500, is that good or not?  i work out at least five times a week, aside from my working out at the gym, i'm constantly walking up six flights of stairs sporadically three to four times a day for five days a week (because i work on the 6th floor and i never use the elevator going up) and i eat less than my required calories?  Is this going to help me lose weight faster?  Please anyone w/some information, please let me know....thank you so much!!!
H8_my_body-

You should try to eat no less than 1,200 calories. If you cannot get in 2,200 calories in try to get a much as you can of that in. Also look at your BMR and figure out what your body burns daily from doing nothing. That is a good starting point to see how much you burn off and figure out how much you do burn by working out walking stairs and try to see if you can stay with in a negative of about 1,000 calories that way you are burning off with out your body going into starvation mode. If you cut down too much eventually your body will find a plateau and stay there you will then have to kick something into start loosing again. Also, by varying your calorie intake daily your body will keep loosing since it will not know for sure how much you are going to eat daily. A lot of people do this when they hit a plateau to kick it back in again. Here is a good website to get your BMR and also some other tools that are good to use:

I hope this helps...
Hey stinky1,

Thank you so much for replying to my post and so quickly at that.  You're right about not losing the weight.  I've been exercising for how long now and most days i don't reach my cal. required and it's frustrating.  But thanks for the advice, it's sometimes hard to find the right foods to eat in order to reach my required calories.  I was just about ready to just give up.  Thanks to you, now i can really monitor what i eat and make sure i'm getting in the calories needed in order to lose.  I'll let you all know my progress as i go along w/these adjustments....Thanks!!!
I am glad I am able to help....I hope it works out for you. Soon you will have to change your name to <3_my_body!!

i weigh 245

personal goal of 160 for right now

weight goal for health is 128...long ways to go!!!!
Welcome  midnight...

Sounds like you are on the right track. I found it easier to loose like 10 lbs at time. Don't make a goal that is so far out it is easier to keep your goals closer that way there are a bunch of mini goals to hit rather than one large one. As you get closer to your goal make working out goals like longer faster and such. You will not get as easily discouraged if you make more short goals. Yes, in the long run you are going to want to get down to goal weight and don't always go by the BMI some people like myself it will not work for. Feel free to post any and all questions problems or if you just want to vent. We are all here for the same thing...to look and feel better...

Hey guys! Sorry its been so long, Ive been going through a lot of stuff at home and whatnot and havent been able to get on here. But I have now finally gone below 200 lbs. I am at 196 as of today. I could not be happier just to have broken 200!
All the best to everyone and keep up the hard work, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I've been using CC for a month now and I've lost a little more than 15lbs so far!!!!

:)
Count me in! Hi all, I'm Beth and I'm 52 years old & live in Michigan, USA. I just joined here today, but have been dieting & going to Curves since February. I started at 241 and have only lost 17 lbs so far. Curves has been great! My arthritis in my knees is all but gone & I can climb the stairs now without gasping for air & clutching my chest! The problem was sticking to my diet! The Dr. gave me a low fat, low triglycerides diet. It's easy to follow, I just wasn't doing it, so I'm hoping this website will help. I love how easy it is to look up the foods & log everything in. So I'm at 224 today & my goal is 149. Once I get there, I'll decide if that's enough for me or not. I've never been under that in my adult life, so I thought a reasonable goal was best to start with.
midnight_mocha, you and I have very similar goals.  I hope everything works out the right way for you!

As for me, I've been struggling lately, but tomorrow I'm getting back right with my exercising and with my eating habits.  This post will be my motivation.  xD
I weight 225 and wanting to reach a goal of 150...

Seems so far, but I know with inner stregnth, i CAN do it.

Im wanting to lose about 1-2 pounds a week.
Welcome back Angel. Good job on getting under the 200 mark. I did really bad this weekend. I lost a pound down to 231. These last few pounds are killing me to try to loose. I really worked hard this week. I thought for sure I would have lost more than 1 pound, but a loss is a loss. Then we went to my dad's house on the lake for fireworks on Saturday. It pretty much just becomes and eating-fest when we are there. Even if you are not hungry you tend just to grab chips or something just to have...oh well we only go up a couple times a summer so not a big deal. Just jump back on the wagon and go. Loosing these last 5 to 6 pounds is really hard. Not matter how much more work I do with working out my body just wants to hang onto them. Oh well one day it will be gone. Maybe eating bad this weekend will kick something in, I can only hope...

Has anyone heard about the diet benefits of Green Tea? I got a call from a friend last night who claims she heard on the news that it can boost your calorie burn by 260 daily! I've looked online & there is some pretty encouraging data on it! Check it out!
I'm down 4 this morning! WooHoo!!! I know it's mainly water because I just started, but WOOHOO Anyway!!!
After vacation, I had gained 5 pounds (all the soda and alcohol, LOL) and today, 5 days after I got back, it's off again, I'm at 206, my lowest so far! I am looking forward to finally getting under 200---wow, that will be nice :) I'm hoping it will be gone by the end of July!!

Hope everyone had a great 4th, enjoy your weekend!

Just checking in.  I've had a busy couple of weeks and had no time to look at all the posts.  I love summer because there are soooo many fuits to eat and enjoy.  On the other hand I hate summer because there are so many events to go to where they serve up yummy treats!!!   Sigh...  I am down 22 pounds in total so far over 4.5 months.  I guess that's kinda slow but atleast it's going down!  My next mini goal is 16 pounds and 2 months away.  Time to refocus!!  Wish me luck!

Hi all,
I'm new here and just getting back into fitness after far too long an absence. I just joined a gym two weeks ago and yesterday had the dreaded "weigh in" and wellness check with a personal trainer. I can't believe I've finally gone over the 200 mark. I'm at 205 lbs and determined to get back in shape and reach 145 lbs.
For now my first goal will be to reach 185lbs.  It all seems so overwhelming, but I am committed and looking forward to see my body change as I continue to workout and eat healthy. Wish me luck!
count me in
I guess I honestly don't know HOW much is healthy to lose in so many months. I started at the end of April, and now towards the end of July I have lost 35 pounds. I really think a lot of that was water weight---but today I clocked in at 204 pounds! WHOOO!!!

I hope I won't get kicked out when I reach under 200...lol. My body will be under 200 but my mind is still over 200 I guess.

I LOVE the fact that my clothes are falling off me, but it's not too good for the self-confidence because I look like crap swimming in my clothes. But then, I don't want to buy a bunch of new clothes until I reach my goal, ya know?

5 more pounds until I reach 199. i haven't been under 200 since having my daughter almost four years ago. And you know what guys? It feels really really good.

Good luck to everyone, and I am here to cheer you on whenever you need cheering!

Beckie :)
