will allow myself more diet drinks than normal...which I know isn't the best for me, but it's either that or the chocolate.....

Wow! Look at all these losses!!!! I actually saw 224 on my scale this morning when for the past week I've been back and forth between 226 adn 225! I was liek what??? haha So I"m hoping to get out of the 220s by mid month.
mama----hope your day starts to go a little better! I think when we are doing well the world tries to knock us down, literally sometimes! But i hope things perk up for you :) And the hockey game was super fun. My dad got season tix b/c it's a new team in the town where his store is. I'd never watched hockey before but it was very cool, fight in the first 2 minutes! haha lots of cute guys from canada (when they don't smile of course lol)
itsmy---11 pounds?! wow! that's awesome.
Looks like we are all geared up for an awesome week!
I soaked the crap outta my other water bottle last night hoping to get the campfire taste/smell offa it so I can actually use it again. I'm a little scared to try it!

Well...the road to "you-know-where" is paved with good intentions...and boy did I have good intentions this morning...:(
The girl I work with went out for lunch and asked if I wanted to get a Big Mac from McDonald's because she had a BOGO coupon...and in a moment of hunger, I said yes...so I had a Big Mac and Medium Fry...now I am at 1363 for the day and I have not had dinner...I am so mad at myself...why don't I have more willpower...why can't I say NO...
So...I am back on track now...dinner will be good...I have not had any soda and almost 48 ounces of water already...so I faltered but I picked myself back up afterwards and onward we go...
I should have come in here to read before I said YES to lunch...lol...oh well...I am not going to beat myself up...I will make sure I stay within my maintenance and go on...this is a good thing...usually if I screwed up, I would just chuck the whole day...so while I ate bad, this is still a positive...:)
I will check in later...thanks itsmy...your "one meal at a time" comment is keeping me from giving up for the day!!!

Alright, I'm back...my muscles are a little bit quivering but, I feel pretty good. I couldn't bend as deep today. So far, the Slim in 6 workout goes by pretty fast. I can't wait until I can actually do the beginners week without sweating as much as I'm doing now.
I can't believe all the good stuff I'm reading! That is awesome!!
itsmy - 5.5 pounds!! Wow! Great job! I love my small plate. It's definitely put portion size into perspective for me. My little mini muffins are sooo cute. My husband looked at them and said, "oh, they're small!" I told him that he could only have 6 which is the equivalent of only 1 and 1/2 muffin, before he was eating like 3 or 4. So, it's working for me and HIM! Just don't tell him! Shhhhhh...*wink*
tabby - I agree with everyone here, that's a great attitude for a new beginning! Don't let minor setbacks get you down. Just remember small steps. We're here for ya...!
Ginny - Hang in there! 2 pounds before isn't so bad, I know people who fluctuate up to 10 lbs. I guess the only thing is to drink lots of water and stay away from sodium.
rockinmama - It's Monday! Isn't there a universal law somewhere that Mondays are rotten most of the time?? I hope your day finishes better than it's started. Kisses and hugs to you! :)
Largo - Don't punish yourself! Just start all over. There's no need to beat yourself up about a few bad days. We're all human! The weekends are my worst enemy - I usually have bad days going into the week and during the weeking and coming out of the weekend. If anything give yourself a pat on the back for starting over!
VK - First of all, I'm a copycat, I liked how you wrote your last post and had to copy you! Second - Wooooooooohoooooooo 4.5 lbs!! Oh, that is just wonderful!! I'm very happy for you. Keep it up! Oh by the way, I did the SI6 this morning! Your turn!
kt - Those Canadian boys are cute and very gentlemanly. Well, at least mine is! He's the love of my life and I wouldn't trade him for anything! So, you keep smiling at those Canadian boys and maybe one will whisk you off your feet!
Did I forget anyone?? If I did, I'm sorry!! :(
Have a great day everyone! I'm off to hit the books...one more month!

Wow - I missed alot on this thread this weekend - it took me half the morning to catch-up.
Congrats to all the losers!!!!!
It was a better week for me this week - I lost 3lbs! I'm so happy to see that the calorie-counting thing can work for me - especially after last week's doubts.
I had a moment of weakness on Sunday - had a McDonald's McGriddle *frown* but then I was better the rest of the day. By thinking of it as simply a minor setback instead of a failure - I avoided the binge that would usually follow.
Guys, to avoid temptation I simply don't have anything 'bad' in my house. I live alone - so I don't inconvenience anyone else but it got me thinking - what does everyone do to avoid 'temptation' at night while watching TV? Is it really sheer willpower? Short of having a VERY empty fridge - I don't know what else might help. Even I know that this is not a feasible long term solution.

Tabby - I discovered that you can tag forums so that it is easier to find. I just tagged this one and now I go to my tagged items lists and find it much faster! I also joined the April exercise challenge forum - I look forward to see how I'll do.
Serena - I know what you mean about avoiding temptation. I've also found that I do best if I just keep the bad stuff out. It's hard because the family has to understand, but they're okay with it. I also find that drinking a lot of ice water has helped me, especially at night. It was a habit that I had to start when I was pregnant because I would start having contractions when I got dehydrated. So I had to drink plenty of water to keep that baby in there! If I'm craving something, I make myself drink a big 32 oz. glass of water - if I'm still hungry after that I'll have a healthy snack. Most times i'm not.
Dreamcruz - way to go on the 12 lbs!
Hye & KT - congrats on your loss this week!
I think my biggest downfall that I have noticed as of late is alcohol. I've always enjoyed a few beers or wine with my evening meals, but I find that when I do have them I tend to blow my diet more. Going back for second helpings, eating snacks after dinner, craving sweets etc. So I'm trying to limit the alcohol consumption , but it's hard!
Oh, for those of you having trouble resisting McDonald's - go rent the movie "Super Size Me", if you haven't seen it yet. I saw it two years ago and I think I've only eaten McDonald's like 4 times since then (in two years, that's a MAJOR cut back!). It will really change your mind about McDonalds and other fast food for that matter!

I have cut way back on fast food in general ever since I started on here. I didn't purposely do it, but when I was checking calories before i went somewhere it just wasn't worth it. That's why saturday made me so mad! I can't even remember the last time I had gotten fast food and then I had to go! grrrrr But I just have to remember that the fact that I can't remember the last time i got fast food is a major improvement for me.
Serena--I live solo too so I keep crappy foods out of the place for the most part. I try to keep a constant supply of sugar free jello made and have cool whip on hand so that I can have that for atreat. You can have a huge bowl of it for like 50 calories! It's crazy! And I usually put too much cool whip on so then I feel kinda sick afterwards so I don't eat anymore! haha it seems to work though. O and applesauce is good to have around. If I want something to eat, I usually make myself wait and think about it first and half the time I'll forget about being hungry b/c I'm so ADD haha

This is my last post for the day...the McDonald's hurt but I still ended the day with a 379 calorie deficit from what I burn.
I took the oldest puppy for a walk...we walked 45 minutes...so that was good. Her name is Shelbie. She is 9 1/2 months old and a beagle/lab mix...but her front legs are short and bowed like a bassett hound...I read that some beagles have that...needless to say, she is a cutie...but not real friendly...the hound dog beagle in her barks at everyone...lol. My other puppy is a 3 1/2 month old full blooded lab mix...his name is Storm...he will get to walk tomorrow!
So I burned 2261 calories today and I ate 1882...but I drank 84 ounces of water and no soda...so I am still chalking the day up to a success...no McDonald's for me tomorrow...:)
Have a terrific night...will be back to read and post tomorrow!
I have a lot of trouble with bad foods in the house...hence that mean Little Debbie...lol...my husband and the 3 kids don't think they need to eat healthy...and trust me, we have had the discussion...I would be strung up if I came home without chips, soda and snack cakes...and willpower, I have none...when I get hungry at night, I go to bed...lol...and sometimes that eveil snack cake girl gets me in the middle of the night when the dogs have to go out...lol...I wish I had a cure for everyone for late evening hunger...or how to not give in...good luck!!

Oh my, so many posts since I was here yesterday! It's encouraging to hear good reports.Mamma hope your day got better. Thanks everyone for the boosts. I wish I was a faster typist, I have to get dinner for my hubby soon. Do you guys think it matters much if you skip logging in your food some days? I feel like it's probably important but just don't want to some days.
I need to get a minnie muffin pan. I made some awsome bran carrot muffins with applesauce instead of oil. They're only 160 cals but I tend to eat 2 or 3 a day. Least I'm getting a little veggies lol. I better get going. Have a great afternoon y'all.

Hi everyone...
I hope that your evenings are going well and that you will wake up refreshed tomorrow and ready to tackle the day.
A trick I do for myself and my husband is to count ahead in our calories before lunch. I plan out dinner and what we are going to have for desert and then can adjust for the day. We usually have sugar free jello pudding (but the generic) made with fat free powdered milk. One box of pudding calls for 2 cups of milk.
The powdered milk calls for 1/3 cup of powder for each cup of milk.
I use 1/3 cup and then half of a 1/3 cup of the milk powder. I still add 2 cups of water though, and then the pudding mix. Then if you split it into 2 servings, one cup each, they have 130 calories each for the French vanilla flavor, slightly more for the chocolate.
My husband hasn't noticed that the milk powder is missing and I am not telling. It is really cool to sit there and eat an entire cup of pudding for only 130 calories.
I use the jello idea too and 2 servings of whipped cream, the everything free kind for only 20 cal per serving.
We also eat a lot of popcorn. We have an air popper and figured out that if you pop 1 serving of popcorn (3 Tbsps) this equals 110 calories. Then spray it with a tiny bit of PAM (or generic) spray. Then you can dust it with a small bit of salt and the salt will stick. You almost can't tell it is not dripping in butter.
I hope these help for those wanting deserts at night.

My day started off so well and then I had a dentist appointment. OUCH!! My mouth was numb until past nine. I slowly ate my dinner because I am so sore. :( I swear my dentist is novacaine happy! My appointment was at 3!!
Hye-I only did the treadmill for 15 minutes. I did work up a sweat though. It might have been because it is still jerky...1.8mph one minute and 3.5 the next!! Yeah, I need to lube that baby up! Lol
Serena-I don't usually get too much into sweet snacks, my fault is salty snacks. I try popcorn, cucumber slices, string cheese sticks, sliced tomatoes.
I have been faltering in my fiber the last week or so, so I want to try snacking on brocolli. The key for me is to have something ready to just grab. When I do have the sweet thing going on I'll do grapes, oranges, apples, and a lowfat ice cream sandwich I found. That is 130 calories so that requires a little planning. A couple earlier posts mention a very good popsicle they found.
