Over 200 club!
HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!

Got on the scale this morning,Grrrrrrr. Stupid scale. My TOM just done with and my weight went up total 3 1/2 lbs in the last two days! Trying not to freak. Probably too much sodium. I should probably stay off the thing but you know it's that love/hate thing.

I saw my personal trainer this morning for our second session ..... I can't believe I'm paying to be tortured. It was one of the longest hours of my life. *grin*. Honestly, although I'm sore - it does feel good to know I'm doing something good for my body - besides it HAS to get easier right?

Hey blue...just make sure you get that water in. If you did do too much sodium water will flush it out. Sometimes it takes a couple days but it works!
thanks vk .Yeah I struggle with the water especially when I'm working. Nothing worse than needing to go so bad and being stuck in my bus. It's a matter of timing I guess.
I was so happy! I stilled weighed 224 this morning! And I went out drinking last night w/ a coworker adn wow did I drink. It actually wasn't that much, but was much higher calories than I had wanted to drink. But I was still under maintenance so that's good. You can read my journal for a lovely list of everything I drank and coem tell me I'm stupid for doing that! haha But it's just very encouraging to be under 225. i'm sitting on campus eating my yummy salad that I brought with me. I'm a tad worried today b/c one of my kitties threw up this morning and I'm so scared about the pet food recall even though their food isn't on the list. So I'm hoping he is doing okay when I get home. He's a huge monster (15 pounds and not even fat!) so I think he's fine. If my little kitten is okay with the food then I'm not too worried. But i hate being away from him when he's sick!
oh my Itsmy...yesterday was yesterday and today is much much worse...what is wrong with me???
Here is my day so far...please scold me...lol...for breakfast, a salesman from our Louisville office was in Ohio and brought one frosted devil's food cake doughnut from Dunkin'Donuts...and he knows I am on a diet...darn him...so I ate it...then I had 24 ounces of flavored water (30 calories but it is so so good)...then for lunch I had a ham sandwich (no condiments...just ham and bread) and some plain chips..and 3 Ho-Ho's...and a 20 ounce bottle of Coke...grrrrr...that is it but I am angry with myself...work has been going awful with our inventory and our system is shut down and when we are bored, we eat...lol...I did get some exercise, though...we rearranged our office and it took about 90 minutes or so...
So...tonight will be tonight and I will try to hang on to some sort of good day...though I am not sure how after everything I have eaten already...
I am off work tomorrow, though...nobody to convince me to eat anything...nobody to bring me any doughnuts...just me, good food, lots of water, and all my errands...:) Maybe if I get one good day under my belt I will feel good about going on to Day 2...
My mom is not overly supportive...she constantly is telling me that I need to lose weight so that I don't die... like I did not know this already...then she tells me my husband would pay more attention to me if I lost weight, if I wore make-up ( I work in a tire warehouse), if I wore my hair differently...lol...she is a major downer on an already low self-esteem...and then if I falter, she says I must just like the way I look and not want to do anything about it...how do you deal with a family member like that? My grandma is the same way so I know she came by it natural but sometimes I don't need to hear info I already know...

Hello Everyone! Just taking a breather from homework. My day is going pretty good. I've decided to take a day off from Slim in 6.
Someone on here the other day asked what it was. It's basically an exercise program. It is suppose to completely change you physically in 6 weeks if you follow their plan. The thing is you have to do their workout 6 days a week and each week it ramps up to a harder and harder exercise. Good thing I'm in the first week. In the first week, they let you do what you can and then from there...it's full force. My body is aching soo much I had to take a day off. Most of the work is concentrated on the arms, abs and thigh area. You don't realize how much thigh muscles you use until you've overworked them like I did. So, I hope that info helps to whoever was asking!
wrrly - Wow!! Congratulations on hitting 200! I guess it won't be long before we won't be seeing you in the Over 200 Club! We'll wait to see your posts and I look forward to joining you there!! I'm only about 8 lbs. away from being under 200.
blueotter - 4 mini muffins equal one regular muffin so, filling a regular one halfway would not work. That's why I love the mini muffin pan, I can eat 2 or 3 mini muffins - feel really indulgent and still get less calories than one regular sized muffin! I'm glad you're gonna try it. :)
Dreamcruz - Congratulations on the 12 lbs! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for starting this post. I've lost about 7 lbs all together so far!

Bring lots and lots of healthy snacks with you. I keep cut up carrots, celery and radishes in my fridge at all times. I just cut them up and have them sitting in water. I change the water a few times a week and they keep. That's what my husband and I snack on.
As for your mom and grandmother, I know what you mean. They think what they're saying is helping us because they want the best for us but, unless at one time, they've been at the weight we are, they won't understand. To them it's so simple, just stop eating and exercise more. Or make better food decisions. But, they are not us. The only people who truly understand our struggles are the ones who have been or are there now.
At first I used to take all the things my mother said to heart. I only recently realized, she has no idea how I feel and the struggle I go through. I just have to remember what she says is not a measure of her love for me. It's hard most days but, somedays, I realize, it's because she loves me. When it gets to be too much, I walk away from while her while she's talking, it drives her mad but, she gets the idea.
I'm sorry that you have to endure that. Noone should have to. Good luck tomorrow on your day off!

thanks hye...you are right! My mom thinks she means well but she hurts my feelings on a regular basis. If I try to say anything to her about it, she gets offended or I hurt her feelings, so it is easier just to swallow it and not say anything. I know she does not want me to be heavy...or get sick and die...or have a heart attack or whatnot...but I also believe she would just like me to be thinner...that it bothers her...my grandma will smack my hand at the dinner table if she thinks I am eating too much...lol...she is old school and also weighs 94 pounds...lol...they also don't understand that health problems cause weight gain...I try not to let it bother me but it is hard sometimes...you know?

She smacks your hand tabby thats wild, lol. What I think they don't get is how not only is there over involvement not helpful, it just makes things worse. My family has lots of weight/food issues so I can relate. I get into a kind of frame of mind like,"tell me what to do, I'll eat what I want, I'll show you" I'm like that with my husband trying to tell me to exercise too. The more he says it, the more I just won't do it. Pretty stupid of me but I guess it's human nature.
I passed up some yummy looking carrot cake someone had at work. I've gotten pretty good at passing stuff by. Some one is always bringing stuff in so I have to be strong. At least I finally got my mom to stop bringing over goodies. Talk about nutty. Wants me to lose weight but she was always bringing me all kinds of yummies.

mmmm had chipotle for dinner tonight b/c I still had 1100 calories left for the day! it was sooo good. I'm glad I got it on the day I had calories to spare so I won't be tempted to get it another day.
blueotter, I know waht you mean about getting better abotu passing things up. If I really can't pass something up, then I take a small amount instead of a bigger part.

Hey! Just checking in! You guys have been really busy I see. That's good. This board is pretty coolz. I've been busy working as usual. Have another client...man they are coming out of the wood work I think..lol. Found a nice recipe for Choc. Chip cookies. Posted it in my journal so if you want to check it out.....67 cals a cookie. Not bad!

Not only am I worried about the calories but I'm also trying to figure out about their lack of meatless dishes. They do have lots of seafood stuff but I don't like seafood.

Okay people, I was checking some forums I tagged for updates and I thought I'd share this one with you. There's a CC member here who has just lost her 100th pound. She has her own forum for her accomplishment: I lost my 100th pound!, her name is X17star17x, I think she posted here once-a while back. You have all got to check out her transformation pictures. She is such an inspiration and an affirmation that what we are all trying for is VERY possible and within reach.
How inspirational! I'm going to check it out!
Well, I did my Slim in 6 workout today. I did something funky to my neck during the floor workout.
A day of rest really did wonders for my body. I feel a lot better and could do the workout with saying ouch everytime I did a bend or lift.
I can't wait to see those 6 week pictures!
I also lowered my calorie intake yesterday to by 150 calories. I kept coming in under and found myself trying to eat things to hit the number. So, I figured why not just lower it and see how it goes. So far so good today. We'll see how tonight works out...I have to say all that talk about McD's has me craving chicken nuggets and big macs. I haven't had them in so long.......! I gave McD's after watching "Super Size Me" now, I eat it maybe 4 times a year but, I really have to crave it. I'm not there yet, but, I can tell I'm getting there!

Very Sad I am! :( Looks like my daughter and hubby won't be able to come for a visit this weekend. We were so looking forward to it. And we can't go down either so that's that I guess. Will have to be another time....don't know when. :(

Today was supposed to be good and then not so good...I did not eat a lot but what I did eat was no good...I had to get up at 5:30am to take the cat to the vet...then to the orthodontist...then Bobby to school and the dog to the vet...and nothing to eat...or drink...so I got home and I was starving!
I took the puppy to get his finaly puppy shots and now he is a different dog...I can't leave him...he is up my behind every time I take a step...lol...he follows me everywhere...whines when I go outside...maybe he thinks the car ride was a punishment and he ought to behave...lol...he is only 3 1/2 months old...he is supposed to be a nutcase...lol

My weight log is looking like a mountain range-up & down, up & down. But yes, the general trend is down. I lost that 4 lbs. I gained-sure hope it stays off!

six piece chicken nuggets are only 250 cals adn a small fry is only 250 cals so thats only 500 cals which isnt too bad for mcds.
