Over 200 club!
HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!

wow i had a beer after work adn pancakes for dinner and i'm still under my cals by 400 today! i didnt eat much for breakfast or lunch but i wasn't really hungry adn nwo i dont knwo what to do! haha better to be under than over i guess

otter...lol...I had to go back and reread...it does sound like I took the cat to the orthodontist...:) I took the cat to the vet to get spayed and my son to the orthodontist...maybe if I took the cat, she would listen more about wearing rubberbands to get these stupid things off...:)

kt - glad that I'm not the only one who likes to have pancakes for dinner every now and again. My hubby's also known to make waffles in the evening too! Thanks for bringing up a weight loss goal for April - it made me think! I need to be challenged by a goal! I'll say my goal for April will be 8 pounds.
staben - Welcome! I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting below 200 by Christmas - you'll probably be past that by then! OMG - toddler twins - that is a workout in itself! What a blessing! This is a great support group and this site is sooooo helpful.
I had a naughty night last night and decided that I need to ban myself from wine altogether! I think it's bad because once I open the bottle, I feel wasteful corking it after one glass because I may not be able to drink the rest before it's not good any more. So I have two glasses. Then my decision making is shot and I eat more. Then after I eat more I'll have another glass of wine an hour or so later. Bleckkkhhhh. Granted, it's not like I'm eating a whole bunch of unhealthy stuff (because I've gotten rid of most of it), but it's shooting my calories WAY out of whack.
So no more wine! I'm going to limit myself to one beer with dinner if I feel like it, but after that one I need to have a Zero or water, but no more beer. There, I said it and now I have to stick to it!

I'm staying away from liquor (beer) as much as I can for much of the same reasons hrd. Besides, I noticed myself getting a beer belly. As if food were bad enough to plump me out...beverages too! No way! Pass the water... Lol

I thought for sure that I was about the only in here that was that short but, it seems like there's a lot more of us shorties than I realized. This is a great site! It's working for me and I'm a big fan of all foods and big portions. The overachiever in me likes the Calorie Counting, the food grading thing. So, welcome, welcome, welcome. I agree that you'll get to under 200 in no time especially with toddler twins.
rockinmama - I'm sorry to hear that your daughter can't come to visit. Perhaps a delayed Easter dinner with them when its convienent for everyone?? Easter has never been a big thing in my family so, we are not getting together. I hope that you enjoy your weekend a little!
Okay...yesterday...I did so great! Got up, finished my powerpoint project, worked out and was doing great for calories and food choices. Then, I did something real funky to my neck working out. It still hurts today. So........................................... .....we went to Pizza Hut for dinner. I didn't do too bad with the calories but, I wasn't really paying attention, I just ate what I wanted and figured I'd worry about it later. Bad, Bad Hye Chong! When I did get home and log everything, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
So, it seems like that I have these bads days at least once or twice a week....does anyone else have that happen to them??

far Just have dinner to go
I think i gett 1333 a day but i fig if i stay under 3000 im doing good LOL

Well tabby I bet the cat would have rather had braces. It tickled me to picture it( the cat with braces). I seem to be craving sweets extra bad the last two days.I was looking at some cupcakes in a magazine and realizing how many foods I just love don't fit very well in my diet. Those Hostess (100 cal) cupcakes don't cut it. Wah!
Hello everyone.........I haven't posted a few days, I got down, and almost gave up. But looked in the mirror and said, "Shane, your not a quitter, and you want to be healthy and thinner". I'm lazy today....well more sore and tired really...as you'll see in a bit....so I'm posting exactly what's in my journal...heehee...I'm doing a kt...;)
Went to work this morning and My little lady decides....after my four hours of working already.... that she wants to keep me a little longer today....To Do Walls....eeeesh. Wish she would have told me at the beginning when I wasn't so bushed....lol. So now my every muscle is crying in pain and no hubby tonight to give me a massage because he's on nights. It's gonna be a rough month....everyone wants their spring cleaning done. Pounds better come off this month...lol. I'm doing like Katie and making a goal of 8 lbs lost for April. Had to rush out the door this morning...slept in and was late for work so I didn't have anything but a 100 cal. granola bar for breakfast...oh and I literally inhaled my coffee...no way am I gonna start my day with no coffee. But sure didnt' have the time to enjoy it. Of course with all the rush, didn't have time to make a lunch...so no lunch. For supper I had Sweet Potatoe Fries, 1 cup of carrots, and 15 shrimp with seafood sauce....nummy. The shrimp is breaded but I can afford the calories. I'm even going to be able to have a 1/2 cup of Icecream...heehee. It's official, my daughter isn't coming for sure. :( I'm gonna have to paln something to keep busy this weekend so I don't get to down and out. Hope everyone is having a good day and enjoy your weekend.

ugh! i could not be happier to finally be home! so i had my 2 cups of coffee for breakfast. at 12 i managed to get my hadns on a bag of chips (380 cals), then a luna bar at 4. had to climb like 6 flights of stairs adn walk a couple miles at least around campus so i'm beat! i grabbed a kfc mashed potato bowl for dinner (sooo yummy). so i gotta plan my meals better tomorrow. my sodium was crazy high today so im downin tons of water.

Katie- Sweet potatoe fries are so easy to make...at least the way I make them. Peel and cut them up like fries. Spray with cooking spray...I use butter flavour. Then sprinkle with garlic powder, or what ever flavor you like...some like them spicy...I use garlic powder. Then pop them in the oven until cooked...about 10-15 mins. Turn them once halfway through. Nummy. Oh and I have good news tonight too. My daughter just phoned. Her and hubby are on their way down. They were gonna surprise us but then figured on being in quite late so they called. I was so shocked I thought they were pulling my leg at first. But it's true they are gonna be here around 12:30am. Hope the weather holds out for them. It started to snow here. I'm a worry wart mother...lol
hmmm maybe i'll try those soon. i've never made homemade fries before. i'm such a horrible cook

I found a muffin recipe here yesterday that made 12 muffins. I used a generic splenda which knocked it down to 107 calories per muffin and then I used the new mini muffin pan I bought myself. I got to have 3 muffins for 117 calories. I was in heaven.
