HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

Wow! so many posts! I'm really thankful for this great spot on this great site!  I told my sister today that you folks convinced me to stop weighing everday and she laughed and said, "so you listen to them but not your big sister" She and my other sister have been trying to no avail to get me to weigh less often. You all have some special power I guess.

yeah mabear for your loss and hye and all you others who are melting away! Inspiring to hear them all.

Welcome lavin. I used to live in the bay area and I tell you on these grey days in Oregon I really miss it. My butt is still very wide but it is going totally flat and it sucks. I knew my boobs would shrink away but I didn't know my butt would go all weird on me.

So for my April goal I'll say 283 which is 5 lbs away from what I weighed yesterday and my 20 lb mark! Notice I said yesterday, I did not weigh myself today!!  Ell bell if I can do it you can too:) I really did have to put mine away-try that it helps.

And kylie- I,m sure we all put on the pounds during that time of the month I know I do and I've seen the posts about it that looks like I'm not alone.  As for hunger pains, make sure your calories aren't too low, eat the low fat protien and don't eat too much sugar. Beyond that I don't know, cuz I deal with that too.

Haven't noticed my collarbones but I'm happy to see my face isn't so bloated any more. What I'm wondering is how much I'll have to lose before I will be able to feel my hip bones? They're under there somewhere right?

take care all!!
blue- I knew you could put that scale away...I knew it! :) You'll see your ribs in no time.
couldn't of done it without you mama. thanks for the push. just 6 more days to go. I keep eyeing the spot where the scale was, I've got it bad, lol. I hope I'm not the only one this obssesed.
You're not the only one.  Wonder how ell-bell and kristen are doing?   Hummmmmm!
Hey, 5'4" here and I weighed in at 212 today....I have been trying for 3 years to get the wieght off. I have always made excuses and it just seems so much easier to stay in my "comfort" zone and be overweight!  I want to join the club.  Hopefully, if I can FINALLY get my act together I won't be here for long!!!!! :0)
Welcome smare7! glad to have you.  I think you'll find us a quite encouraging bunch. At least we try to be and these wonderful people on this board always seem to keep me on track.
WTG BLUE!!!! I knew you could do it!!!  **\\\__RA RA RA__///**
Ell - you're not far behind right?!

Welcome Smare!! Welcome aboard a great forum were there is motivation in every nook and cranny!!

(I told you all that I had some natural energy today... it's still there) =)

Everyone have a great evening & keep up the good work!  See you all tomorrow =)
Well, Rockinmama, I can't exactly put my scale away because I live with a man who weighs "165 pounds, EXACTLY" and is obsessed with weighing himself every day. But I did stay off of it today. I think I will limit myself to Fridays only. I just hope it doesn't say that I gained anything back when I do get on it.

Good Job Blue! Repeat after me: "NO SCALE ... NO SCALE ... NO SCALE"!!!

FYI Blue ... hip bones are really over rated. Last time I lost all the weight, mine kept poking me. I worked so hard to be able to wear a pair of tight jeans and when I finally could it was really quite uncomfortable.

Good night ALL.  Gotta go ... I have a date with a 100 CALORIE OREO GRANOLA BAR  ;)
Oh, I just had a sad thought....

If I hit my April goal I will no longer be in the 200 club!  It's sad because I can't be part of the club but, HAPPY because I'll be under 200!  Can I do the Happy, Happy, sad, sad dance??
You're not going to leave us, are you? I can't think of a better place for you to STRUT your "under 200" STUFF!  :)
Now there's a good name for our next motivational board for this group. Ell-bell's idea--Our next board could be called Struttin' our "under 200" stuff

First one out of this board has to start it so we have somewhere to go after.  Can't just leave us all behind???
holy mother of crap. I just got home after working 13 hours! i dont' knwo how that happened. I didn't even eat dinner cuz I guess it just didn't happen lol. That happens when you are at work until 9pm i guess! meh, so i'm enjoyin some wine and my light chips and probably some ice cream later on just b/c I can haha

I'm thinkin of sleeping in tomorrow and skipping my first class, then I wouldn't have to go to school until 2pm. ahhhh wouldn't that be nice.
Whats a good average weight loss for one week, at the moment im averaging between 200 - 500g a day so i guess in a week thats between 1.4 kg/3lbs to 3.5kg/7.7lbs per week. Is that an average or should i be trying to lose more.

Im not really exercising yet so need to start that. Tomorrow i aim to swim for a 1 hour (if i can be brave enough to get into my togs) and then a 1 hr walk.

I would like to be losing around 10lbs a week, last month i averaged 5.75 so maybe with exercise i can increase it.

Any advice
Good morning, good morning!

Alright the first one of us to get under 200 we should start the next new board.  Strutin' Under 200 Stuff or The Over 200 Club Graduates or something like that!

Smare -  Hello!  Welcome!

ell-bell - How was that date last night??  :)

ktcort - Holy mother of crap?  I haven't heard that in so long.  LOL!  13 hours!!  Well, you definitely deserve a glass of wine for that.  I hope you have a nice sleep in.

Kylie - I'm not an expert but, that sounds like a lot of weight loss in one week.  I know everyone loses weight at a different rate.  I'm averaging about 2 lbs a week.  My loss for last month was 10 lbs.   As long as  you're feeling good, making good food choices and eating at least 1200 calories a day - go for it!

Alright, today I'm off on an adventure to downtown.  I'll be doing a lot of walking and shopping!  Yeah!!

Check in later!
Good morning all,So far so good with not hopping on the scale but man It's killing me, so I am trying to be extra careful with what I put in my mouth cause I am afraid if I go up on monday it will make my number obsession worse. I really can ID with elle there. I did an axta 25 minutes on the treadmill yesterday went to lay down for a second to catch my breath and woke up6:20 this morning. (I tried a litter faster pace on the treadmill than normal) Guess I now have a good sleeping pill. LOL I wish I had a booty like yall were discussing yesterday I only have boobs galore but think I would much rather have the butt!! and as a goal for the end of April I would like to see220. I weighed yesterday @ 237 so I Don't know if that is realistic But it is my goal..

Also want to say Welcome to smare I am pretty new myself and the folks have been truly supportive with me , so have no fear I am sure we are in good hands ;)
Kylie...

I do not know how old you are but dietdetective.com has a great calories calulator...If you type in your goal weight and your height, it will tell you how many calories you will need to eat to maintain that weight.  For you to be at your goal of 110 lbs and 5'5" tall,  it says 1546 per day with a sedentary life style.  If you were active, you would need to eat more.

It is great that you have lost so much in the first month but realixe that most of that 1st 10 lbs was probably extra water and extra waste in your intestines.  Then next you lost some fat as well.  Realize that the next stuff you might lose would be muscle.  Your body will go into starvation mode and keep your fat to survive on.  A healthy amount to lose is 1-2 lbs a week.  (to answer your question)  Sometimes we go a week losing one and then the next we might lose 3.  For me it is a life style change and to be healthy.  I hope that you will check out the forums here with information about this, you don't have to listen to me.  When I first joined this group a few weeks ago I was asking about calories  and weight loss and everyone pointed me to the forums and to feel comfortable with what I was eating and that the weight will come off.

Smare...welcome...

So for yesterday...I ate 2022 calories...I walked on my treadmill 50 minutes...and I drank 49 ounces of water.     8 weeks times 7 days is 56 days.  1 down...55 to go to get to 230 lbs.
Welcome Smare-I know comfort zone.  I've been over 200 forever...180 at age 12!!!  So when I hear picture yourself skinny...I've never been.  My skinniest was 225!  Lol   Ha, 31 more pounds to go to hit that weight.  I'll be there before I know it.  ;)

Kylie-Ginny is right, check out all the tools there are on this sight and other sites to find the safest way to lose for you.  I know at my weight the first set of pounds (for me 15-20) come off fairly quick, after that it is slower...but...because of all the tools and info we have at hand I know why.

Hey Mabear/Ell/Blue-I also had a hard time leaving the scale alone to do the once a week weigh in.  I have my home scale plus there is one here at work (community scale).  That one I always see when I go to the ladies room...which is often considering my water intake.  After a while it gets easier to leave it alone.  It helps that weekly is less stressing.

Woohoo, happy Tuesday!  Okay TG, what did you put in the water!?!?!  Lol   I'm a little hyper again today too.  I haven't even finished all my coffee.  Here's to natural highs!!!  :)
Hi everyone.  My name is Jessica and I'm 261 down from 280 at my heaviest.  I just joined the site last week.  I am so glad to have found a supportive friend here already and look forward to finding more.  Accountability helps so much when I have the urge to blow the diet.  I have been working out every day and eating well (counting every calorie).  Look forward to meeting and getting to know you!
ahhh it's 10am and I just woke up!  I haven't been able to sleep in for so long. So I'm definitely not going to my 10:30am class now lol. Okay, I'm one of em who weighs everyday and I jsut can't stand not to. But the past 2 days I've weighed 220.8 exactly. I'm wondering if the 222 I was on Sunday was just a fluctuation. I dunno. I'm thinkin if the 220.8 is right then I should have no problem losign 8 pounds this month. that would be sooooo exciting!

welcome jessica! I've found that coming on here and entering what I eat has made me sooo muhc more accountable. I can't just eat it and forget about it anymore. I have to really look at what I'm puttin into my body. And the forums are great for motivation and questions. congrats on the 19 pouns so far!
I want in on this club as well.  I am also 5'5" and currently 213 down from 221.  I started cc on Feb 20th and find it to be a great site.  I am 34 and married for almost 15 years, we have 4 children 14 down to 4 years old.  I am a stay at home mom.  Which is when I started packing on the pounds 8 years ago I was a beautiful size 8 now pushing out of an 18!!!!  But I down right refuse to go a size bigger so I jumped aboard cc and looking to make a life change myself.  I have been closely watching my calorie intake and I purchased an elliptical (WHICH I LOVE)  I do fantastic for a few days then I have a day of let downs and then I do great again. I need to steady things out and maintain a constant weight loss.  I wish it was that easy. Like right now I should be working out because I skipped breakfast but had a bit more then usual lunch and I feel full and gross.  BUT I again have an excuse, the whirlpool service guys is coming to repair my oven and I don't want to be all sweaty and not put together when he finally arrives.  I know, I know lame excuse.

I was a big time scale watcher and it really depressed me, because I would fluxuate so much fom day to day.  Mainly around ovualtion to the end of "that time" So I had hubby put the scale away and I can only read it now after "that time"  I will have to go by how my jeans are fitting.  But I am looking forward to being part of this club, with people that I can relate to, and are going through what I am.  Because it definately is not easy.
