Over 200 club!
HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

I feel lucky cuz gas here in Mi is $2.73 A GALLON!!! That's for regular though...
OMFG--I got in an accident 4weeks ago and i have had my car back for 10 days now. It was my fault though, I rear ended somebody and had to come up with $1000 deductible. I was not happy but the collision shop paid for half of it! That made me happy a lil bit.
I am also on a anti depressant, Celexa. I think it's helping me lose weight too. Sometimes I dont want to get out of bed, though. I have to with the daycare thing goin....
Its 8pm at i have had only 1000 calories but I am not hungry...Maybe tomorrow i will eat breakfast(EWW) but I will have to force myself!
I have just my kids tomorrow--off babysitin tomorrow! So SO excited!!
alrighty, i will check in later unless i get tired....

Welcome kernal! This is a very helpful board but keep checking all around. The whole site is pretty awesome.
hjmmmmm i'm nto sure what to eat for dinner. chipotle is sounding really really good. I'm not counting on losing weight this week but I'm also not giving up on it. I'd only be over my cals by about 200 w/ chipotle so that still gives me like an 800 deficit. nto too horrible. we shall see how it goes. I haven't been cooking much at all lately which is bad but tihngs are stressful. I'm still counting the cals and stayin w/in my range so I shouldn't worry.
Hey kernal glad to have you! Wish I could make it here more often, seems like every time I come on now I have at least 2 pages to catch up on. That's okay.
Hey mabear! Yeah I'm still sticking with the no scales thing and I totally relate. I figure if it is this hard for me to do without then it's probably important for me to give it up. I'm not just a recreational user, lol.
I find it interesting that so many of you have so many calories left at the end of the day. I'm lucky to have 400 calories left at days end. I get up at 5:30am and I'm hungriest from like 9am to 1pm. Don't know why, guess we're all different.
We had a few sun breaks here today which always lifts my spirits. I find it funny how the weathermen here will say,''chance of dry". I wonder if that's an Oregon thing. I hadn't heard it before moving here.

Kernal - Welcome, Welcome & to any others that I may have missed!
It's late... 11pm PST when I wrote this, ended up at the grocery store and did some very slow shopping - looking at everything and deciding what I wanted to get, not only for me for things that I can cook at home for the entire house.
For me it wasn't a good day, just under 2000 calories, I try to stay between 1500-1600, so I had an off day. I guess I made up for the calories that I didn't have yesterday. However, here is the key -- I was still below my average daily calories burned -- so I should actually be OK =) (I like that type of news)
Hope everyone had a good nights rest! Cheers!

thanks for the support from yesterday...see, I knew y'all would pull me through!!! It was a good day, plus, we were invited to go eat with family for my nephew's birthday....pizza! It was last minute so I couldn't plan ahead with calories. So, I ate the salad bar! Just salad and cottage cheese. None of the high cal stuff, except for the dressing b/c I forgot to bring my Light Done Right Raspberry stuff. (which is wonderful!!!) So, thanks for encouragement!
Welcome to kernal and aneondevilbreath! Glad to see you here!!
turtlegirl--see even on an "off" day...you did good!!
cats--so glad you are okay!!
gas prices here in Arkansas are about $2.80 . Like Ginny, they were about $2.20 just a few weeks ago!! We haven't ever gotten over $2.99 for reg unleaded....so far....

oh, and one more thing....if we had stayed much longer at pizza place......that pizza was mine!!!!! lol.....they kept pushing it in front of my spot trying to make room for more pizza! It was chasing me!!!! lol....but didn't catch me!
I know I don't post often (I can only check at work and by the time I've caught up, it's time to work again), but I am glad you are all here on this group. You all have been inspirational. It's good to know that everyone here is facing a lot the same things.
I have mixed feelings about my news, but I only have .7 lbs. to go before I'm not "over 200" anymore. I feel like I'm about to be an orphan! Not that I am upset about the weight loss, but I don't feel like I am a strong enough poster to start the new thread... what if nobody picks it up? Then I'll be left hangin'!
Anyway - Yay itsmy for your resistance to the powers of pizza! Cats - I am glad you are okay. Rockin' - I believe we are all making a lifestayle change and no lifestyle is so rigid that a few calories here or there occasionally will end the benefits. Besides, all I hear about sticking to an extremely rigid number per day tells me it may lead to a plateau... so I have been wondering if I keep my calories between 1200 and, say, 1600 (my optimum is right around 1400) with the goal being to have it all even out to 1400 per day over a week - would that keep my body guessing enough to not plateau and still lose weight? It's kind of been my experiment so far...
I will mis this board and may sneak on anyway, but I just wanted to thank everyone for being so open and supportive of each other and (even if I'm quiet a lot of the time) me!

I tried to add a link to a cute little animation here. If it doesn't work, go to my Profile, it worked on there.

Hey everyone! I just found this site. Can I join the group? I really need the motivation and accountability!
Good morning! My we've been chatty!! 2 pages since I was last on! Hehehehe! That's awesome, we are definately the "itn group!
Cats - I'm glad to hear that your okay, sorry about your car. I've only been in one accident and it's was a bad one. The doctor said if I was any taller I would have broken my neck and died. Thank goodness I'm short! I just have to de-fluff now.
Dream - Welcome back! Yes, big thanks to you for starting the thread! It has become a part of my daily life. Enjoy your day off from babysitting. :)
kernal - Welcome aboard! You'll love it here! I know I do.
Blue, ma and ell - Good job on staying off the scale. I've never been through scale withdrawl before but, it sounds like it was tough! :)
Turtle - Hey that's not bad. Yesterday, I was bound and determined to do well after my weirdo experience at the restaurant. I met my husband for dinner and ordered a broiled fish dinner and the fish was drenched in Olive Oil. Oh, well. I ate it and came home to record it. I realized I can't keep punishing myself. The most important thing is I am trying to make the right choices.
Itsmy - mmmmmmmm....pizza. I might not have been able to say no. Good for you!
Betsy - I know how you feel. I'm 4.4 lbs away from being under 200 lbs. I've decided not to leave. Even though I've originally joined the club because of the number, it has become more about support and friendship. I think at 199 I'll still be having the struggles I did at 215. So, I'm staying. Although, I might start another thread but, I'll still be at this one as well. Eventually, everyone here will be able to come to my thread and we'll be all together again! :)
Ell-bell - We are hear for ya girl!! You shouldn't be scared of the scale. There are going to be up and down days on the scale. If you have made an overall healthier change in your life, your efforts will catch up with you.
Alright...the gas topic. We live in Montreal and public transportation if our mode of travel. We do have a car that we use maybe once a week or once every two weeks. I have to say we are really horrible and don't check the prices so, I have no idea how much it is. My husband is the type to keep a full tank. So, after we've run errands we go and fill the tank back up and that it. I have to say, it's saved us a lot of money in gas and car expenses since we've moved here. I guess it's just one of the perks of being in a city.
Okay...off to do more homework....catch you guys later! Have a great day!

Hello! I'm new to the cc website. Found it by accident a couple of days ago, but I'm really excited about it! Until I logged in everything I eat during a day, I had no idea how many calories a person really consumes! My current weight is 219 and have been overweight for many years. My husband loves me anyway, which is good, but with 6 children and a full time job, I've never been able to do anything for myself. This year I decided I am going to do something for me! I've been walking for about a month and a half - anywhere from 2-4 miles 4 or 5 days a week and didn't lose a single pound! So discouraging. I also had changed my diet to mostly healthy things, giving up soda, fast food, etc. Still no weight loss. So I'm wondering if maybe I had still been taking in too many calories, even if it were more healthy foods. My plan recommends 2450 a day, and last night because I was watching everything I did 1845. That still seems like a lot to me, but I need to wean myself further I think. Anyway, we'll see how it goes. Have a great day!!
Hi all this morning! I just another thread labeled this title too. I almost got confused!
What is chipotle? I feel stupid that I dont know what thatis
I started by makin me and my son breakfast this morning-1.5eggs,coffee, cheese, 2 toast, gravy---427 calories
I am trying to stay at 1200 for the day! I have the whole day til 4pm. I will 3 hours to myself today( I prob will play pogo and take a shower in PEACE!!) I have to take my son to school at 12:30 so we are chillin.
I got 1145 calories yesterday, I didnt make it to 1200 but prob today I will. Do u gain weight if you eat 800 calories for dinner, I wonder?? But eating 400 calories for breakfast? Its prob not good to save all your calories for dinner but sometimes I dont have time to eat!
I am glad my thread is so popular, I feel proud being all your friends!!!
Its a sunny day today so bring on those natural B vitamins! :-)

blj55 - Welcome! Of course you can join. It's open to everyone and you'll find lots of motivation here and your friends here will definitely keep you accountable.
cuzmommysaysso - Love your name! Anyways, I'm glad you found the site. It really is resourceful. Now, there could be lots of reasons why you haven't lost a single pound. One is that you might be gaining muscle from your exercising and the other might be your calorie intake. I am down to about 1500 calories a day give or take a few bad days here and there. I did start out at 1650. 2450 sounds like a lot but, you must have a higher activity level. I'm sedentary. Actually, I'm inbetween sedentary and light activity but, I put on the lower scale. Keep sticking with it and you'll do fine. Welcome!
dreamcruz - I eat a big portion of my calories at dinner. I enjoy my meal with my husband and want to be able to eat with him. I'm sure it's not good either but, I make sure that I'm up for at least three hours after eating. Something about digestion I read somewhere. Anyways, I have been steadily loosing about 2 lbs. a week and I've been eating that way for a little over a month now.

o dream you are missing out! it's a mexican "fast-food" restaurant. they make ginourmous burritos and tehya re sooo ooooo good! It's about 1100 cals fora burrito so I don't go too often but it is just too good to give up completely!
Thanks for telling Kt! I love Mexican too especially chips and salsa!!It sounds like a very good idea to treat yourself sometimes!!
hi people! i'm Carol 58 yrs old, and 261 lbs, down from 308 last July...uggghhh! i have been struggling to get below 260 for a couple of months now. my body seems to be quite content right where it is, sad to say. i am exercising, eating right usually, and still not getting where i want to be! i'm glad i found this forum, cuz i need all the encouragement i can get! *sigh*
Thanks for the welcome. I hope to visit and chat and get motivational support quite often. Just some background.... I'm 41, 241.5 lbs as of this morning (unfortunately I've gained 2.5 lbs since the 27th of March and not quite sure why). I've been exercising, walking, and Zumba mostly, 3 to 4 times a week for the most part. I'm diabetic as of last year's diagnosis but am supposed to be diet managed, no meds. Can't cut the calories too low because of the diabetes and no meds, but need to lose weight before it becomes a real medical problem with complications. I've been overweight for most of my life. Really got heavy during and after the birth of my children. So, I know my weight gain isn't from muscle and I didn't gain an ounce over the holidays... Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? Any ideas on how to turn the tide?
Thanks.
Thanks.
