Over 200 club!
HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!

last night we were actually up to see the 10 o'clock news and I told my husband that that stuff was happening in Ell's woods. I counldn't wait to get on this morning and find out if you were okay...It is sad all the way around...
Kt...don't worry about posting stuff that might be unmotivating. Everyone has been so wonderful to let me vent and it has really helped. Me and the rest will be here to support you too...
hye...thanks for your comments...being less than 200 over is not going to hurt you that much. Drink an extra glass of water today and it should help flush the beer out maybe then you won't feel so bogged down...
Stats for yesterday...1807 calories, 51 minutes of walking and only 33 ounces of water. If I didn't have you guys I would have been very bad. I kept coming on here and reading and typing which helped a whole bunch. This morning I get to go to town and give Josh to his trainer (Residential Habilitation Trainer) from 10 am to 2:30pm. I have 2 appts, noon and 1 but the first 2 hours I get to myself....Yippeeeeee!!!! I am so excited....

Ell -- glad to see your post. When I went to bed last night I heard about the fire and the man inside, and I got worried about you. I even came back to check the postings to see if you had posted anything. When I didn't see anything, you were the first thing on my mind this morning. Glad to see you and your family are fine. Ginny - drinking water is exactly what I plan to do! Lately, I find myself going a little bit over my calories but, nothing really drastic. The good thing is I'm still losing but, probably not as fast as everyone else. I figured as long as I'm headed down the mountain instead of up, I'll go at a pace that works for me! Oh, enjoy the time to yourself this afternoon! :)

I hope everyone has a great day. It's gorgeous here!! Yesterday, I got in a lot of walking because I had to be downtown and then, I went shopping. So, I figured I could replace the 20 minute brisk walk with the 2+ hours of walking and shopping. Didn't get anything really, just a lot of window shopping.

.my daughter and her father are driving me nuts( no we are not married, but do live toghether, and have been for 9 years now). the two skinny pains in the toosh do nothing, but eat. i don't understand. they can both eat from the time they get up till the time they go to bed and still be hungry. the worse part is watching them eat i don't know if i should be jelous that they can eat like that or grossed out. sorry just needed to vent. hope everyone is having a good day. good luck

Yeah, I probably have too much sodium. I just decided I am going to focus more on eating better, exercising and not so much on the scale. I really need to put it away!!!! In the past, I have noticed that the pants change and clothes fit better...that is really the best way (for me) to gauge my success. Good luck today, everyone.
Yes-true- I figured i would weigh myself today becuz of all the salt I had this weekend and guess what? I am down to 223!!! Its true about someone saying-Drink lots of WATER--I still had 1 can of diet squirt with dinner and I still lost!! i am so excited cuz we leave next friday for our weekend getaway to see family I have not seen in a long time! :-)
Even when you feel depressed, stay focused on the time now and pick yourself up and get back on track!
I love this site and prob would still be 240! I have lost 17 lbs and cannot WAIT to see 200-199 again!!

WOW dreamcuz, that's awesome!! Congrats.
I wondered... does anyone here still drink sodas? teas? coffees? I know soda and fruit juices are like the silent killers to your diet, because they have so much sugar and empty calories.. but I still like to have the occassional coke.. not to mention, I've had no success in giving up my morning coffee..
any advice?

I still have coffee in the morning about every other day.
I think if you have a real pop just count the calories and make sure you allow it..I also like the green tea crystal light kind. I drink that some days..

dirtypretty - I still drink iced tea once in a while. The bad thing about teas is that it makes me pee all the time. Luckily, I've just been sticking with water and have the tea only once in a great while. I do drink an ocassional diet soda too.
Today, I've been very bad. I fell of the wagon and it really hurt! I was voraciously hungry this afternoon. The oatmeal and yogurt I had didn't seem to hold me at all today. I was really, really hungry. I craved Korean ramen noodles. So, I made some and ate the whole thing! So, lunch was a 700 calorie affair and then, almost an hour later, I just had to have one of those Quaker Oats Chewy Dipps which is basically a candy bar in disguise. I don't know what's going on with me today.
Usually when I'm at home, I can pretty much control myself but, today, I can't.
Luckily, I have fish planned for dinner and what I have planned will only bring me over 100 calories for the day. I'm very disappointed that I had something so bad for me for lunch. Those ramen noodles are good but, they are high in fat, calories and sodium!
Have you guys ever fallen off the wagon that hard before??

Hello every one ! Thanks for all the well wishes on my finals yesterday I think I did well and have an opportunity to see my unofficial grade tomorrow. :) I will be busy studying for two more finals on monday then my last one on wednesday. I am finding that I like to graze while I am studying. It doesn't matter if it is 100 cal packs or chips or veggies I just seem to have to put something in my mouth while my books are open. It is almost is it is subconscous. any suggestions on ways to break this cycle? right now I am trying chewing gum but it just aint the same. I am off to hit the books for a while I will check in later.
i start every day at work w/ a cup of coffee, i usually only drink half of it before it's cold though. adn i have sugar in it cuz its soo good haha. I've cut way back on sodas. I used ot have at least one a day and now i'm at maybe a couple a week. I do rely on energy drinks though. I get the sugar free rock stars which are only 10 calories per 8 ounces. It's a great appetite suppresant. I can sip on that for hours and not have any desire to eat.

Ell-Yup, I saw all that on the news too! I didn't see your post about it being your woods until just now. That must've been scary. I'm glad you are ok.
Dirty-I have my 20oz coffee every single day...and on the weekends I have 24oz!!! Oooohhhh... Lol It's not so bad. It took me almost 6 months to get it at the cal level it's at now; approx. 70cals. I always had 3 spoons of sugar, cream and a little french vanilla flavoring. Yeah...horrible. I lowered my sugar to 2 spoons, then 1, then actually measured a teaspoon out. I then switched to sugar free french vanilla flavoring with 1 tspn of sugar and still the liquid cream. This week I finally omitted the sugar and cream and only use the sugar free hazelnut (because I can't find the sf french vanilla right now) powder cream. My coffee isn't something to mess with! Lol Can you tell I take the little steps to the extreme when it's something I like. ;) Other than that it's water (never been a pop person, I don't like the carbonation) with occasional beer.

Hye, I have fallen off the wagon befor and likevklamorick said usually cause I just had to taste something and of course was it ever so good, until it comes time to hit the scale. However I think you are fortunate cause you are willing to not toss your entire day out over lunch and have something smart for dinner planned. Plus you have tons of support.

Falling hard is a habit of mine. i really need the helping hands here to pull me back on and keep me from falling again. it always seems if you fall, the next day is on the bad side too and it takes acouple of days to get it all straightened out again... That said, i had a bowl of korean dumplings (homemade from my friend at work) for lunch, ( not good for the diabetes, calories weren't bad though) and they were delicious! Then I went to my son's school program this afternoon and the chocolate chip cookies just seemed to jump into my hands and fight over which one would get to be the first one to sabotage my good intentions. Sort of like the fudge yesterday, but worse. In college, we used to get 2 chocolate chip cookies for our dessert and I literally would salt and pepper one so much that no one would attempt to eat it. Since I couldn't go back for seconds, it worked really well.
Now, i have to work extra hard again. This morning was a stressful loud morning too, so that didn't help matters any. i'm not over my calories yet, but he carbs are yelling obscenities at me!!!

OMG - I can't stop eating today! I don't know what's going on...I keep getting the urge to eat something. I just popped a bag of smart pop popcorn (100 calories). Hmmm....I wonder if this has anything to do with TTOM? Do you guys experience this unsatiable hunger around that time??

TTOM -- Yeah, I understand perfectly. Mr. TTOM is right around the corner. My husband swears he should leave for the week! So should the stove and refrigerator. Oh, and put locks on the cabinets.
