HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

Alright, I forgot I had done quite a bit of weed pulling yesterday, duh...no wonder I'm so sore and my nose got so burnt.  Anyway, it saved me 500+ calories.  Whew....I still feel a bit bad about last night but not as bad.
haha vk is on a posting spree! don't worry too much about last night. it sucks when yummy stuff surprises you w/ lots of calories, but i never woulda thought watermelon!

ell-bell--I was addicted to crystal light and rum or vodka last summer. they are sooooo good. someone had the idea to add ice adn make a frozen drink out of it so i'm gonna try that since i love daiquiris and margaritas.

so last night my b/f actaully wanted to go to a bar w/ me! i was shocked haha. and he actually let me take him to a gay bar ( i live right in the "gay district" if you will and the gay bars are soo much more fun than regular bars). i stuck to cosmos and had 3. went over my 1300 calories but i think only by about 100 if I assume each cosmo had 130 calories. but that's still pretty good considering i'm dropping my calories by 300 now. hope everyone has a good weekend!
vk...I would never have thought that watermelon had so many calories...who knew?  I guess everything teaches us a lesson...but it was good, huh?  And you got in some exercise, so while you went over, it wasn't too bad...

I am going to have to try the Crystal Light and vodka trick...sounds delicious...though I am not much of a drinker...one would last me 3 days probably...lol

Monday is weigh-in day for me too but not until Monday evening when I go to my meeting...I am hoping for 5 pounds...but I will be happy with anything since I have stuck with it all week...I have 6.5 points left for today and I am trying to find something else to eat...lol...

I want a pair of Birkenstocks now...lol.  I have always wanted a pair but could never afford them...I am on a mission for cheap birkys now...

kt...you are right...gay bars are so much more fun...I am glad you had a good time and that you both enjoyed a night out together!!
tabby i used to make a big pitcher of the crystal light w/ vodka. but if ther eare kids in the house that probably wouldnt work. just gotta make sure anyone there knows it's "spiked" haha
so how many calories is a watermelon?????  i guess it's a good thing it's not one of my favorites!!

now, all you folks that have been talking about crystal lite and vodka...I just want to tell you.  I am not much of a drinker, but I like wine every once in awhile, but have totally avoided with coming on c-c.  but with all of this talk............that drink just sounds yummy!!!!!  can we go to the beach and drink it???

we ate dinner late, and I feel icky.  Even though I am below my 1200 .  just weird getting out of routine
he actually did admit that he had fun! there were more girls there than guys so maybe that's why he was okay with it. he always says he doesn't wanna go adn get hit on haha but i wouldn't mind if a free drink came w/ it!
Not as many when you measure it by the cup, but I weigh everything either by grams or ounces and it is heavy.  I had like 4 slices that came out to around 1100 grams.  I guess I should've known better...too much of anything is bad.  A cup, according to CC is I think 45 calories, 145 grams.  Wish I would've seen the weight vs calories before eating it.  WOW!  I really went overboard.  I wonder if the beer was making me thirsty.  Lol

I used to love gay bars.  I guess I still do but I don't go clubbing anymore.  They are so crazy and free...well for a female in a male gay bar.

I went out to dinner with my in-laws...let me say two words "Chinese Buffet".  I totally blew my day - I can't even remember everything that I ate but, all I can say is that Chinese food is a lot heavier than I remember.  I can't believe I used to eat like 4 times a week.  Eating healthier has totally changed my taste buds.  Next time, I'll just suggest a restaurant instead of a buffet. 

I've been drinking lots and lots of water since I got home to hopefully flush out a lot of the stuff I ate tonight.  Tomorrow is my weigh in and it's not gonna be pretty...I can just tell...eek!


Sorry Hye...I definitely feel you.  I'll cross my fingers for your weigh in tomorrow if you cross yours for me!  Eh, I'll cross them for both of us!  :)

I really need a new outfit or at least pants, so I really need to get to 250.

vk- the great thing about gay bars is that it's much more relaxed than regular clubs so I don't have to get super dressed up and be around prissy girls haha

hye- i try to avoid chinese food at whatever cost mostly b/c it's nearly impossible to find calories for it, for me at least, or to gauge how much i eat. i'll usually stick to teh chinese chicken salad but buffets make that hard!
kt - You're not kidding!  Well, I truthfully logged everything I ate and I have to tell you guys that I didn't do as badly as I thought I did.  Luckily, I stuck to some stuff that I knew I could find calories for such as honey garlic ribs and egg rolls.  So, I got lucky there.  I didn't eat rice but, did end up having two glasses of red wine which didn't help.  I think I'll stick with you....avoid Chinese food at all costs!

drumroll pleaseeeeeeeeeeee.......that 1 1/2 pounds is GONE!!!  PLUS it took a 1 pound friend with it!!!  Yep, official w/i was down 2 1/2 pounds!!!   That makes me 228.5 for a total loss of 16.5 in 2 months!!!!

I had really hoped to hit 20 pounds by 2 month mark, but hey....I'm okay with this!  Hubby had his first gain....and it wasn't pretty.  It was only 1 pound...but whew...

if you remember, he is in the contest that ends in about 4 weeks, and he has been front runner this whole time!!!

okay, off to the treadmill!!!!  :)

hye--i bet that Chinese food was sooo good!!  My friend at work and I used to go eat Chinese at least 1 x a week...now, I won't go...and she's like..."sigh...I miss it"....So do I, but my hips don't!!!

Welcome to the newest members and congrats on everyones successes.

I did make it to 242 Rockin...and it was the same this morning as when I "cheated" last week and looked.  So, 33 pounds since January 19, 2007.  I have 12 more to go to reach 230. 

Stats for yesterday...1858 calories, 15 ounces of water (4 diet cokes had my name on them while we were working.) and no exercise again.  We did sheer our 3 alpacas, which because of our inexperience took 6 hours. 

Today is a new day.  I am packing my water with my food and I will drink more and more.  THis week I am going to plan on extra water because TTOM is coming and I do not wish to "Gain" any water weight.

Im bck from my long weekend at the lake.......sadly i can say i did AWFUL id start every day eating right but by the end of the day we would have a few drinks and then i was hungry ughhhhhh what is wron with me now i have to do measure and weight and im scared that i lost all the progress i had made.....

week 1 i lost 1.5 pounds and 7 3/4 inches, when i weighed before i left town on thursday i had lost 3 more pounds, so imma cross my fingers before i do this!!!

CONGRATS to e1 who lost im sorry i read most of the post but there were 5 pages maybe 6 since i left!!!  so im still reading and catching up!!!

Yup, I do a KT with Chinese food.  Avoid at all costs.  It sucks because I finally found a place that has really good stuff w/o going all the way to Chinatown.  Oh well, I'll have to keep that on reserve for "one of these days".

OK...I wanna drumroll too....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  -2.5!!!!!  It looks like me and Itsmy are pound to pound the last few weeks.  I didn't make my 250 goal for April either but I did lose and that's what counts, right!? 

I'm still crossing my fingers for you Hye!  And I'll cross fingers for you too Chris.

Hey everyone!!  Just want to say a quick "Congrats!!!" to everyone who lost weight/inches!!  I'm sorry that I'm not fully up on keeping track of everyone yet, which is why I'm not listing names - don't want to miss anyone!!  No offense intended, but congrats are heartfelt!!

I have a couple of parties to go to this weekend and next weekend, so I think I'm going to take that Crystal Light and vodka idea with me!!  Good old Raspberry Lemonade with some vodka sounds very refreshing, and much healthier than some of the other choices that will be available!   : )

I haven't weighed in yet this week, but had to go shopping for some new clothes this weekend, because my favorite work pants are just too big now.  (I can pull them down without unbuttoning/unzippering, so it was time.  Yay!!)  I was so excited to realize that I could buy pants 2 sizes smaller, and can almost do 3 sizes smaller!  Plus, I actually bought a pair of jeans.  With a zipper - not pull on elastic waist!!  I know that may sound ridiculous, but since I can't remember the last time that I wore "real" jeans, it made me very happy!

Anyway, thanks for letting me blather on here!  Good luck to everyone this week!  Keep up the good work!!  : )

Chris - Got my fingers crossed for you.

Well, I jumped on the scale this morning and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  I still lost weight (-2.6 lbs) from last week but, I was up since yesterday.  Yesterday, I was 201.8 and today I'm 202.6.  All that water yesterday helped, now that other .8 lbs is probably even more water weight hanging on!

So, I won't be doing the Chinese thing for a while.  I can't give it up completely but, once in a great, great, great while.  Hahahaha!

grrr this is my second week losing less than a pound! I lost .8 this week. I'm really hoping that going down to 1300 calories will make two pounds disappear this week so i can be under 220, i'm just teetering above it and it would be sooo encouraging if I was under. i'll be crossing my fingers.

congrats to everyone who did lose. hye, that's still really good considering you even had the chinese food!have a happy monday!
