HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

Hi all! Can I join in with ya'll? My start weight was 242 as of April 9, my weight as of May 9?

Not too bad. I am staying between 1600 and 1800 calories and working out Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or trying to anyway. I think you guys are awesome. Calorie-count has helped me so much!

thanks for all the support every one I do appreciate it. Well its saturday sothat means my dirty little eword is a good house cleaning top to bottom and 30 min of my biggest loser workout dvd. So far so good. I got up and had my coffe and fruit and Even logged it so that if temptation sneaks up on me today I MIGHT think twice before I give in. Me and the kids usually make baked goodies on the weekend so they have treats throughout the school week. Does anyone have any good healthy baked goodie ideas? I know a friend of mine back in Newyork used to make this delicous fruit topped pizza and I moved to florida before I could get the recipe. Not that it would have mattered when I left my ex I left every thing except the kids behind. But any way it was outta this world and this way If I have healthier snacks made when the binge monster hits Maybe it won't be so bad. I weigh in wed so I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I already planned to come on in here and just babble on & on if an urge to eat something not within my points is tempting me. sooooo.

Thank you ell- for posting on your calories I have alloted my self 1250 and have been eating around 1000 When I am watching what goes in my mouth, and I thought maybe I was doing something wrong but it is the only way that I seem to lose consistantly. I guess as long as its not too low it is what ever works for you?

I  accidentally grabbed the wrong size capri's the other day and my boy friend wants to take them back, but I told him not to cause it was only an inch or so that they would not close and I work very hard to get into them I can't wait, and can only imagine how totally siked you must be right now! Mabear....I wish there was something we could do more for you...have you thought of posting your stats here like I do and Blj did?  Would that help, kind of a watchdog...you know you are going to post these numbers so it makes you think twice about eating something???  It that will help, please do so...
Barney...I saw your post on the thread for the young girl that weighs over 300 right now...I went to read your profile and it said that you have diabetes and high cholestorol (sp?).  I am sure you have talked to your doctor in the past, but have you really talked to him/her lately?  Have you told them you want to lose the weight, that you are making the life style changes?  My suggestion is adjusting your meds to help you shed the pounds...Something my mom tried, which should not hurt you, but you can clear it with your doctor, is atleast 3 capsules of fish oil a day...it lowered her tryglycerides is a hurry compared to the meds they put her on...it helped with her cholestorol as well...it is available over the counter...she was able then to lower her glucophage which helped her as well...Just a thought...When you have problems with your body, it doesn't always work the way we want it too...we are here for you.
Hi All...How is everyone on this fine weekend? I am trying not to cheat this weekend...Weekends are bad for me too....My hubby wants Wendy's for lunch and I really dont want to feed him today!!!
I dont really like Wendy's anyways but a chicken sandwich sounds good!

Had 1310 calories yesterday, no walkin besides broke a good sweat house cleaning!!

Had my 78 calorie coffee right now and just waitin for the rest of the day to go by....Maybe I will take the kids swimming later!!

Also my hubby wants to take me out to dinner tonight---Mexican sounds good!!!
Ginny -I am willing to do any thing. So what do I post my total calories in and amount exercised? Something has got to give and I don't want it to be me.
I'm sorry mabear about your fall.  I'm glad to see you are trying to be proactive about it and open up. 

Ginny does have a great idea if you feel you need more accountability...which it sounds like that's what you want.  I rather enjoy seeing Ginny's posts because it reminds me that someone is staying right around her goal numbers just like me.  I know everyone here pretty much does but to actually see someone else's numbers helps me believe in myself too. Thanks Ginny!!  So go ahead, figure out what is most important to track for you at this time and start posting!!!  You can always journal post it.

Good Morning everyone!  I am so happy this week is over... I think I gained a little during the week because my CORTISOL levels were probably sky rocketing.  Cortisol is released from the brain when one is under high amounts of stress.... Causes weight gain!  BLAH... I hope this weekend is great and next week is okay too!  Anyway I had a McChicken from McDonalds yesterday, but that is all I had.... NO FRIES nothing... Just wanted that and got it... No bad feelings... Today my scale reads 205.8... Down 3 ounces... I am sure Andrew (my boyfriend) and I are going to work out today, so it should be all good!  Welcome newbies... I am so happy you are making the changes needed to succeed.  This is probably the best board on CC for motivation... Everyone is so great!  How do I speed up my weight loss?... I am losing like .5 ounces a week... If I am going to be under 200 by the end of may, I need to get on it!
Bqueen--I love McChickens! They are real good with tomato and pickle added, sometimes i skip the mayo  :-)  I saw your picture --You really don't look 205 in that pic? You guys look llike a cute couple:-)

Today I ate a Great Wrap veggie and I am thinkin in was around 630 calories!!  WTF---Damnnnnn  I should have just got a McChicken with the kids..I am so mad at myself---We are suppose to go out to eat but I am pissed now!!

Dream: HAHAHAHA I had another McChicken today with a cone... LOL I am on a role! It's all I have had though so I am not worried... Honestly I felt TREMENDOUSLY full after having my cone, McChicken and Diet Coke... I was like AGH! Thanks for the compliments... I am posting some more pictures of what I was before (at 136) which CC put me back at (imagine that!) as my goal and then i am going to post some of me recently... In february I was at my highest weight of 220... Now am at 205.... Didn't start CC until April 16 at 212 though.... I think I will try it with the lettuce and tomato INSTEAD of the mayo... Their mayo is gross anyway! As for you eating a veggie wrap, Isn't it crazy how those things SEEM healthy with the veggies and what not but when you actually eat them their calories are out of this world. Have you ever had the ATKINS wraps at subway? They are very tasty and less calories than the sandwiches (however look into it, I haven't had one in awhile). Go out with your family to eat and enjoy yourself. Whatever you do choose, be smart... Rather than eating it all, only eat half or less than half.... Save it for tomorrow! There is always a healthier option to choose from too! Don't be upset, just roll with it and try and choose something BEFORE going to eat so you can check your calories!

I am 220 still todaya nd have lost 20 lbs! since Feb 23 and wish I would lose more quickly!! I have to get ready....now...thanks for chattin...for some reason I have no daycare kids and I am bored now!!

Congrats on all the losses and successes this week...as we all know, a success comes in many forms and is not just a weight loss...

For those struggling, I am right there with you...and trying desperately to figure it out so I still show a loss at my WW meeting on Monday...

Here is what I can do...I get 28 points a day plus 35 flex points a week...Tuesday I went over my daily points by 6...Wednesday I went over by 8...Thursday I was fine...Friday I went over by 3 and today I went over by 7.5...I know that I have the 35 points to use and I have only used 25 so I have not done badly since I am permitted to use them, but I feel like I am failing...I just want to show a loss...and I want to do well...tomorrow, I will get back on track and not go over tomorrow or Monday...that might help me...and next week, no cheating...no pizza...no quesadillas...no chips even if I am hungry...lol

I feel better already...I have confessed my sins...:)  And I am not even catholic...:)

well bummer! I'm not freaking too bad but I didn't show a loss this week, waah! I think I went over cals too many times early in the week. Oh well. I did good today but tomorrow I may have to let myself cheat a little for mothers day. Happy mothers day, BTW, to all you mothers in case I don't get on tomorrow.

mabear, 1000 cals really is too low at least according to everything I've read on here. There are lots of good posts that go into why it's not good to go so low. It is contraversial but there are so many stories from people who have started eating more and are able to lose that it is pretty convincing. Just hoping to help.

I do 1000 calories also blue. I tried eating more but didn't lose anything for over 2 months so I kept lowering my calories until I started to lose. I aim for 1000 and get by pretty well. Sometimes I go over a bit but never go over 1200. I've done 1000 calories on 2 diets besides this one and lost almost 100 pounds both times. I stayed very healthy too. I guess it depends on your metabolism. Mine just happens to respond at 1000 ... aren't I lucky? Ugghh!
I really mostly like the fries at Mcdonalds so I just normally stay away.  Wendy's is my favorite; fries and burgers.  I'm really glad I can fit in their burger once in a while.  :)

Tabby, confess away!  Watching you tally up your numbers it sounds like you should be fine.  It sounds like you kept your body guessing while staying in your limits.  I read around the forums that it's the way to go sometimes.

I am so pooped right now.  It's my eyes.  It's been a bit windy and being out on the baseball field with contact lenses really did a toll on my eyes.  I was joking I should wear goggles!  Lol

I got my Mom's day present a little early.  Hubby has a horrible time keeping me waiting.  I think he does that so I don't make him wait when he's on the rcvng end.  He got me a garden buddy.  It's like a little wagon.  It has a tray for your tools too.  :)  Now all I have to do is run out and buy some annuals to plant.  Any ideas fellow gardners???

I have a garden buddy vklamorick. They are GREAT! I have MS and have a really hard time bending and kneeling down, so my garden buddy is a God send. I don't know what I would do without it. Not a bad work-out for the legs either. Happy Mother's Day on wheels!
How cute VK!  My dad is like that... My brother and I ran out and got my mom some beautiful flowers... He picked out a hanging one with blue pink and purple flowers SO CUTE!  I got her a climbing rose tree... Garden Buddy... I should definately look into that for her Birthday! 

Dream:  Told you you could do it!  WOO HOO for you!  Look how great you feel too!  I havent hit 1000 calories today :-(  I feel SOOOOOOOOOOO Full though!  Tomorrow I should be eating enough for the week... But definately going to try to keep it down!  To all the mothers... HAPPY Mothers day!  you are all so wonderful to me, I can't imagine how great you are to your own children!  Good Night!

Hi.  I haven't written any messages here before but thought I'd share the success I've had with this site.  I started using the site on Feb. 20, 2007.  I weighed 255 pounds and am 5' 10", and am in my mid-50s.  Since I had gained the weight over so many years, I decided to be realistic and just try to get down to 220 by the end of 2007.  I set what I thought were very attainable goals -- just keep my calories down to 2000 a day, and count Everything I ate.  Well, after less than 3 months I am already down to 225 (lost 30 pounds), and it has been really easy.  I mostly just stopped my weekly comfort eating of bags of cookies, or huge bags of M&Ms at one sitting -- and rediscovered how much I really like fruit.  This is the least I have weighed in 7 years and I feel so much better -- my knees and hips don't hurt when I walk now and my clothes that were always too tight are too big now.  I'm still considered Obese by BMI standards, but feel like I have accomplished a lot and this site did it.  Keeping track of Everything you eat is not all that easy -- I found that writing it down and then adding it all to the site at the end of the day made it easier.  But I just wanted to share that this really can work for some people and I'm really happy at 225 -- I may even let myself stay at this weight for a bit before carrying on.  Best of luck to you all.
Welcome nynytg - wonderful success so far. You made a good point about having gained the weight over so many years. Maybe that has a lot to do with why some lose quickly and some don't.

Being over 50 myself, and a little short on memory cells, lately I have been jotting down (usually on a napkin or paper towel ... haha) what I eat and then entering it later on the site. Although sometimes I do enter my entire days food allotment first thing in the morning (especially if I am making something for dinner that I need to figure out the calories on). Then I drag all the packages and cans over to the computer, pile them all up, and go to town. It does get  a lot easier the more "this way a eating" becomes a habit and the LARGER my "food tag" list becomes :)
