HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

Good morning to you guys...Happy mother's day to all...thanks ell for the e-pic/card, that was pretty...

My family gave me a diamond necklace...thank goodness it is nothing extravagant because I told him I would worry about losing it in the field...The fact that they remembered was the nicest thing...

Well, stats for yesterday do not look good...2687 calories, 80 ounces of water, and only 1 hour of yard work...(my maintenance is 2800 so I did not go over that)...I got my blood test results yesterday and they are not bad but the worst I have ever had in 39 years...my total cholest. is 111 whcih is great, bad is 67, good is only 34 (a precursor for heart disease)...something was up with my liver, my chloride, and my iron...apparently I am "malnourished" and I thought I was doing so good...So I ate yesterday...and ate, and ate...today I am going to be back on 1800 caloires but I am going to have to find a way to eat better than I have been...It's funny, when I weighed so much more my blood test were always great.  Of course when I weighed this morning I was still at 240 but my husband said don't worry, I ate so much yesterday.  He said to just wait until next week...

Well, I chatted enough about me...I will be thinking of you guys today...
Good morning every one and happy mothers day!

I got a beutiful mom ring , a dozen red roses, and a healthy breakfast in bed. The kids got together and made me a fruit salad and coffee. My son said he wanted to make bacon and eggs cause he knew I would pass that up and he would get an extra breakfast but the other kids out numbered him in the kitchen.

Yesterday my stat are not very high I wasn't very hungry! I only had 786  cals for the day though it feels like I ate alot. I had a ton of fruit and my girl frien made me her specialty grilled asparagus with lemon sauce and baked chicken. I probably could have afforded the yellow rice but steered clear cause I knew it was high in cals and did not want to go over. I had 60 oz of water and don't know how to account for my fruit juice and coffe or my light and fit smoothie. I went for a twenty minute walk as well yesterday and at least got my laundy done! oh well here is to another day! :p
Happy Mom's day again!  Mabear and Ell, it sounds like your day is going very well.  I hope everyone else's is too.  I'm not going to worry too much about my intake today...well, ok I lie, I probably will, but I'll try not to.  :)

nytyg, good job on your 20#!  It's always so motivating when you hit milestones like that.  Like you and ell I find myself jotting things down as I eat and jump online when i get a chance to post it all.  My tagged list is at 5 pages and I'm sure that'll keep growing as I find new foods.  I hope everyone is utilizing tagging, it makes things so easy.  I also found that I can group things that take a list of ingredients and add a group in just a couple of clicks.  I can be a bit slow with these things!  Lol   Anyway, I have my "fixed coffee" tag and my "fixed oatmeal" tag.  I feel like such a smarty pants!  ;)
Happy Mom's day everyone!!!!

I've been busy so much this last week that I needed to take some time this morning and read up!  So, I had breakfast with all of you this morning :)  So now that I am caught up I'll have to do the same thing next weekend.

Heading to the windy city Tuesday morning and I'll be there until Friday night.  All work related - so not a lot of site seeing will be had.  But I'm hoping to at least get in some type of good food!  I'll be in Shaumberg (sp?) -- so if anyone has any recommendations I'm open... but I'll only see your post today and tomorrow... :)

Everyone Congrats on the loss!!! Hye - I am so So SO excited for you!  Ginny (well I think it was Ginny) - I have a pair of capris like that also... so close to getting into them.  Need to do my tummy exercises more, I've been lacking on those :|

Welcome to all the newbies!  You will LOVE this forum, well I do anyway!

Keep up the great work everyone!!!  Even though I'm not posting daily these last few weeks, you are all still on my mind when I'm tempted to grab that chocolate chip cookie, snickers or the extra helping of potatos.

{{{{{ HUGS TO YOU ALL }}}}}}
Schaumburg is where that Dave & Busters is located.  It's like a grown up version of Chuck-E-Cheese.  Video games, pool, stuff like that...and regular foods.  Unfortunately, they don't have a great option of low cal dishes.  They do have 24oz glasses of beer!!!  Lol

It's also not far from Rosemont.  Rosemont has a lot of good places since it's right off Ohare airport.  There's a place called Gibsons, it's a steakhouse.  OMG, they have the greatest steaks I've ever had.  Don't order dessert from there though.  Their pieces of cake are bigger than my head!!!  If you get a chance you'll be close to Woodridge too.  They have a wonderful mall.  One of the best in the area.  I haven't been there myself, but when people at my work say it you know it's true because that is our business.  :)

If you're a fan of pizza, Home Run Inn is Lombard.  They have some of the best Chicago pizza IMO and usually rank pretty high with the critics too.  You have got to splurge a little while you're here...after all, we're known for our food!!!
Just starting to get every thing ready for our mothers day cook out. I made sure my daughter grabbed an extra bag of baby spinach for a nice green salad. The boys were thought full and brought chicken and corn on the cobb. I was afraid there was gonna be so much fatty stuff but it is looking more like every one is trying to be a little more conscious of what I said I won't eat, even went and got some of that smart balance fat and cholesterol free butter.

Someone is gonna walk in with a cake I know it!! I bought flavors of chips and dips I don't like so I won't eat any of that. And I got 4 boxes of 100 calorie snack so when everyone else is having a smorgous borg I have some healthy variety too!! The boys went out and got diet soda but I pushed it to the back of the fridge and replaced it with water bottles!! So here Goes nothing!

Ell the e pic was very sweet! Still hanging in and planning for a successful day inspite of the activities.

Not quite in my capris that are an inch to small but soooo close!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY again to all you moms!!!

Hi Everyone, Happy Mom's day! Well i will be totally honest with you, I just started the CC last week and fell of the wagon terribly... I was doing so well for like 3 days and then just without even realizing it, I slipped back into my bad old habits! Anyways I am starting new tomorrow and thanks to everyone that posts their stats whether good or bad, it makes me see that although there are bumps in the road... that is possible.

have a great day and a great week.

Welcome to all the newbies... i guess im also one...Chat soon
WOW - Thanks for the info VK!!  I've taken note of your suggestions & hopefully I'll be able to get to one of these places!  I'm gonna try atleast!

Ya' I figure as long as I hit the gym in the hotel I should be good to go w/some splurging :)

Sorry about that Mabear... I wasn't sure who said it about the capris!

Keep up the great work everyone!!!

Hey everyone it's my weekly weigh-in and I've lost another 5 pounds! So that's 15lbs in 3 weeks, woo!
turtle no problem enjoy Chicago!!

Sabel - Welcome back ! I find I do well for a week or two and then get blind sided by a bad couple days So You definitly are not alone in this struggle and the people here are very supportive.

well as for me I may  have eaten a few too many chicken wings but overall I did not do to bad. Since It seems to have worked out that I missed lunch I think I may be right where I am supposed to be for the day. Though I am feeling a little bit like I might pop!! Once that feeling fades I am going to try to disappear into the garage to play with the weights for a while.

Something else in my favor, Some one we weren't expecting came by and she brought me some roses So I felt like I needed to return the gesture right, so One of my kids bought a giant cookie cake that I been refusing to have eye contact with,I gave it to the lady as a mothers day present!!! Whewwww! another bullet dodged. I have since moved in to where the music is and left all the eaters out of doors. I may even retire to my bedroom for a while before any thing else I might like is brought out.

Well hope every one else is having a great day and I'll check back later with my stats.
ok I just logged in and it is not as bad as I thought.

My activity points are at 2950 and my calories are1631 which is over my daily1250 . so I think over all I did pretty good i may jump on the tredmill for a while or use the weights before bed just so I feel better then back to the grind tommorrow
so i'm sure a lot of you have felt my pain of not knowing hwo to log in some of the stuff we've been eating this weekend. it's so frustrating! I am trying to be really good today so I can post over a 1 pound loss for this week. So far I'm at 630 cals for the day so i have over 600 left for dinner. I got some great news today that my parents are going to pay for my road bike and all the gear I'll need for it as my graduation present. that is so awesome that I won't have to pay for all that stuff myself. There's a bike on ebay that I am thinkin of getting that is 600 bucks. That is just a huge loadoff that it's not going onto my credit card now!

sounds like lots of youa re having a happy mothers day. Make sure to have fun and enjoy yourself today!

congrats on the loss Jack! that's amazing! you must be feeling awesome right now.

mabear-seems like you are at a pretty good deficit for the day so i wouldn't worry too much.
I haven't had time to read any of the posts since Friday but, I just wanted to quickly sneak in and say, "Happy Mother's Day" to all the mothers!
WOW, another 5 lbs jackattack? That's great!

mabear, sounds like your back on track ... keep up the good work!

Good luck getting back on that wagon tomorrow, salbel. I have a feeling everything will go smoothly ... but watch out for those bumps in the road :)

So, are we all ready for our Monday? Another week ... another pound ... or two ... or three. GO TEAM!!!
Hey everyone!

Just wanted to pop on here quickly to wish everyone a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!  Sounds like everyone has been enjoying the weekend and doing well - that's awesome!  Also sounds like there's been a lot of family support which really helps!  Congrats!

I had a family BBQ this weekend and decided to bring a slightly healthier version of the menu for myself (and anyone else who was interested), so that I could enjoy without worrying, and without making it too obvious that I was eating differently.  Instead of the hot dogs and cheeseburgers that everyone else was having, I had a Portabello Gardenburger on a whole wheat roll with fresh spinach and a little bit of fat free Italian dressing.  I hadn't tried them before, so was very pleased with how good they were!  I also made a pasta salad with whole wheat pasta and lots of fresh veggies, and just made sure that I took mostly veggies and just a little bit of pasta.  Also used fat free Italian dressing on that, and it was really good.  So, all in all - it was a good day!

OK, don't want to take up any more of anyone's time.  Happy Mother's Day to all of the mums out there!!  Thanks for all that you do!  Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a great week!!!   : )
Alrighty, I finally got off my butt and took some pictures.  Sorry the hair is so frazzled, it was the end of the day.  :)

Well, VK...I thought about you this weekend...if I recall right, you have posted your food in the log and done the analysis...I decided to try that this weekend and see how it goes...I only got a B+ for Sunday but am going to try to do better today...I never realized how much sudium I am eating because we don't use hardly any salt on anything here...maybe that is why my hands swelled...My goal this week is to figure out foods to get an A+ and to keep losing the weight...

I weighed in this morning at 239, down 1 pound for last week.

Stats for yesterday, Sunday, May 13, Day 29, 2049 calories, only 48 ounces of water, planted 21 trees, took 2.5 hours...(so much for staying around 1800 calories) :-/

thanks for being here you guys...
