HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!

Turtle...I really hope you enjoy the pizza.  When I was rattling off the places I had assumed you flew into Ohare, did you, or did you come in through Midway?  I hope your trip is going lovely and my fellow Chicagoans are treating you well!  :)

I can't say I've logged that activity Turtle but I too had to giggle when I saw it. 

Nebtanhai-pizza and Doritos.  Wow, the "off the wagon" monster really wanted you bad, didn't it!  Maybe you can try to cut it off by getting your snacks and foods together early in the day so you know what you are going to eat already.  I know I'm stealing someone's idea but I can't remember who.  Another idea is plan for pizza or a burger or whatever your weakness is once a week.  Figure out what you want and how many calories it'll cost you and then figure out what you can eat to keep you "not hungry" beforehand.  I do that on Thursdays.  I try to save a lot of calories for dinner because Thursdays is our pizza night.  I don't cheat with pizza because I don't deny myself of it.  Also, cheese pizza is almost 100 calories less than pizza with a meat...it's also less sodium.  Just some tricks I'm using for myself...hope they help you.
Hi all!!  wanted to share something i tried yesterday i plan my whole day for food, breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner so i knew exactly what i had to do.  One to make sure i hit my calories and 2 so i didnt go over.  i also did this for my excersises and how long/how many!!  Which it worked cause when i wanted to quit excersising i had already wrote down what i had done so i felt i had to commit, anyway just thought i'd share what i tryed, this will be day 2 in trying so hopefully it works!!!

Hey all you happy losers! :-)

I am so glad to report that last nite I passed a HUGE test for myself, I ate nothing after dinner! I usually stuff my face until I go to be and then don't sleep well. I had a lite dinner of cottage cheese (fat free) and canned peaches (drained and rinsed) and was perfectly satisfied. I did have a piece of cake for dessert tho' - white with chocolate frosting. Celebrating with friends. Still, under my normal calorie intake by about 2500!

Ok I need some advice. My weight last monday (5/7) was 219. My weight this past monday was 220 but I assumed that was water retention. Yesterday I weighed 215 and today 214. Do you think my actual weight right now is right about 215? Thatwould have been 4 pounds in a week! I have been better about sticking to my 1300 cals but that seems like a lot. I jsut want to know what I friggin weigh!!!!! what do you guys think?

Chris:  Woohoo for you... that is what I like to do, get everything in order BEFORE it happens... I also feel like if I already have it written in, I have to committ (except if I eat less, which is ALWAYS easier to fix than add!)  Anyway good job with that!

Barney:  I knew you could do it!  Great job... but as I wrote in your journal, don't deprive!  If you are truly hungry, eat a snack.... For example, an apple contains approximately 80 calories, cut the apple in half its 40 calories, make the apple 2 snacks about 2 hours apart and you have only 80 calories all together if you want a snack after dinner!  Always refrigerate the half you dont eat right away!  This packs enough sugar so your blood sugar doesn't drop and it holds you over until the morning!

KT:  Was it TOTM last week?  That is probably why you lost so much weight... I would average your weight to be approximately 215-217.... Keep up the great work... Always keep in mind what your normal weight loss is week to week and account for that is the probably weight loss this week!  Of course, you are always able to lose more!  WOO HOO for you!

As for me, I have gained weight.... I think i am retaining water... I feel bloated and blah.... I mean I haven't been eating a lot of calories, but I haven't been eating healthy either!  Yesterday had Wendys but didn't eat more than 1600 calories, but of course the fat content is high!  Anyway, I am at 208 so technically for one month have only lost 4 pounds... I guess I better incorporate exercise to show any real results!  I am somewhat discouraged... but my official weigh in isn't until Monday....  Good luck everyone!

queen I have noticed that when I cook my food at home and eat healthier foods the weight comes off easier. When I go out to eat, even if I make good choices, it seems to make my body hold on tight to the fat. I usually just make chicken and potatoes for dinner at home and try to eat a salad for lunch. Seems to work for me.

Thanks for your input chris and queen! If I really am at 215 that means I've lost 20 pounds so far! That's since the beginning of the year but I've been on and off cc since jan and have only been really sticking to it since march. I only have 3 pounds left to reach my goal weight of 212 by my sister's wedding which is still 2.5 weeks away!

Has been a rough week for me so far...work has been awful...my cat got out of the house sometime in the middle of the night two nights ago and I can't find him...it stormed here so badly last night and tonight it is supposed to be so cold...I miss him so much...I just want him to come home!!!

I have hardly eaten today...allowed 27 points...eaten 13 points...not even hungry...worried about everything and exhausted...slept 1 hour last night and been up since 3:30am...kids went to Washington DC this morning with their 8th grade class, and I miss them already...lol

Enough feeling sorry for myself...glad everyone is doing well!  Might go try to find something small to eat...or I will be starving tomorrow...

Which reminds me, I need to find my Slim in 6 workouts!  I actually GAVE AWAY my resistance bands.... BLAh..... Okay, I hope everyone is doing great... I slept most of the day (haven't been feeling to great) and only had a chocolate muffin (except it was HUGE) the Costco size huge.... Probably only 550 calories though.... Which is more than I have eaten.... okay good luck everyone!  Going to try to make it to the gym tonight, we will see....

I am so disgusted.  I went and did my new client today...her house is so dirty...I'm so discouraged.  She has 3 cats....well actually 4...one is outside now but managed to spray all over the house. How do I get into these situations..???? Why me?
Congrads to all who lost.  I have done pretty good today.  I have just eaten around 1600 cal.  I drunk 18 oz of water I have got to do better with the water thing. YUUKKK.  I know bad attitude toward the water. 

Neb-- Long John Silvers has so much grease in it that was what probably what made you fell bad.  Anytime I eat at LJ my reflux acts up real bad.

kt-I understand about the hurting tailbone.  I have a sit job and mine is acting up terribly right not.  I hope you feel better soon.

aw tabby, I'm so sorry about your cat! My cat disappeared once for a few days and then showed up again, but then he wasn't altogether an inside cat. I sure hope he comes back soon. Don't lose heart if he doesn't show up right away though because cats will do that sometimes. Hope your week gets better

bqueen, I like the half an apple idea. Especially after I read recently that most of the apples we're getting in the stores these days are more like 130 cals because they have gotten bigger apples in the stores over the years. Yikes! I guess it probably wasn't the apples that got me fat over the years but still!

good job barney on acheiving that measure of control over the night time eating. I am finding that in addition to losing weight I am really liking the feeling of control over my eating habits. Food isn't ruling me as much as it did and it feels really good!

I'm down 3.5 pounds since Sunday!!!  I'm pretty happy about that! 25 pounds gone! Hope it's not just that my scale is messed up from being taken out of my drawer. Sometimes the first time I step on it after taking it out it gives a weight and then says error and then I get a different weight. Makes me nervous. I guess I am still too much a slave to that thing.

My sister and mom talked today and have managed to come to at least somewhat of a truce. I don't like the way things are still but there's not much can be done. Two people sure can see the same event with very different views!

Eww, that is a really bad smell.  Sorry mama.  I wish I had a trick but as long as I've had cats I could never figure out how to fully make it go away.  Thank goodness my current cat hasn't blessed our house with that. 

Speaking of cats, Tabby, I am sorry to hear about your cat.  I hope he comes home soon, safe and sound.  So far, every cat I've had but one had a tendency to wander. 
thanks for all the encouragement! yeah, i stepped away from the chips, LOL! and i exercised 1500 calories away more than i ate today...i ate about 2000 and exercised 1504 over that. yeah, i'm pooped, and won't make that regular thing, but it did make me feel better, and kept my hand outa the chip sack!!!! now every time i'm tempted, i'll remember what i did the following day to make up for it! the amazing thing to me is that i was able to do that much exercising in one day....water aerobics, walking, and light calisthenics...i was a perpetual motion machine today! and i ate wiser, too. i've been struggling to lose just 6 lbs (to hit the 50 lb loss mark) since the end of February. by golly, i'm agonna do it by June 7th....and keep it off, and set a new goal!

congrats to all the losers today...and to those who didn't see the magic numbers yet, keep at it, don't give up! we'll see them, you and i, we'll see them!
