HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

Okay... If I really don't check the board every 2 hours, I miss responding to everyone individually!  BOO HOO... Okay guys I definately need your help.... I totally botched this week with CC.... I was at 205 and now I am at...eehhehe I just weighed myself... 205.6!!! Totally thought I was more.... Okay now I feel better but still I could have probably lost if I made better decisions.  I ate Wendy's this week, Love McDonalds Ice Cream, Have $10.00 until Monday so I cant get groceries... I am in poop poos Ville....

But.... I want to congratulate EVERYONE on doing so well... I think this week is a tough week on a lot of us, its middle of the month and kind of like a Wednesday, you know.... Everyone is so great and without you, I probably wouldn't snap out of it!

I have been really sick this week.  I have a viral stomach flu.  I am totally blaming Mother's Day by the way!  LOL J/K but I am dehydrated from vomitting and have been eating basically ANYTHING to get something into my stomach... It honestly feels terrible.

Welcome Stephanie.... Add me as a friend you and I are sooooooooo close in stats its amazing.

VK:  Lets rig the challenge so we can all be in the same group

Tabby:  I am so sad for your kitty.... I am praying for you

Ginny:  I am so sorry to hear about your son... I work with developmentally disabled adults and actually handle a lot of money that comes in and for someone to CHEAT and LIE is terrible.  If you ever have questions, please feel free to ask.  And always remember to ask the right questions for Doctors because if they overmedicate your son, it could be very detrimental to his health.... I know a lot about medications so always feel free to ask about those to!!  Your a great mama!

IF I missed anyone, Don't hesitate to let me know!  I better be back on in 2 hours or I will miss everything.... again!

bqueen - Oh, I hope you feel better!  $10 until monday eh??  and you're sick....I think ramen noodles will hold you through.  You can buy like 4 of them for $1 so, buy a few dollars worth ($2).  I would by a dozen eggs $2 -3 and some veggies like carrots ($2), mushrooms ($3), green onions ($1) and celery ($2) - whatever your budget will allow you.  When you make the ramen noodles leave the broth in it and add just a little bit of each veggie cut up and crack an egg into it (protein).  Throw in the noodles once the veggies have softened a little.  Not the healthiest meal but, cheap, filling, easy on the stomach and wallet.  Remember to drink lots of water because they are high in sodium.  Or if you want to skip the noodles, buy some chicken broth powder or cubes and rice and the veggies and make your own soup to last you until Monday.

I lived on ramen noodles when I was college, except, we ate like 2 packages at a time and after a night out at the bar, they went great with pizza and chicken wings.  Yep...freshman 15 and then some!  Oh, I don't even want to think about it!!

Good luck...I hope that gives you some ideas...!

Oh, I couldn't help it but, I did a before and after comparison and wow, my face has changed!  I've posted the photos if you guys are interested!  :)
what a great idea HYE, chicken broth and veggies duh that never ever came to my mind sounds like a yummy lunch!!!!  I love ur before and after pics!!!!  Your so beautiful, and doing great!!  totally do that with the rest of ur money QUEEN sounds to me like a great plan!!

Hye u wanna do my shopping list on a budget?? LoL  caould be a new profession lol

hugzzzzz
hi everyone just checking in I have been so busy I can't think and man am I tired. Any way I did not do well at weigh ins but I didn't do so bad either!

Iweighed in with a 3.5 pound gain and the way I ate I really should have been way up there. I haven't had too much of a chance for exercise and have been setting my alarms every night to get up at 4:30 too exercise and finding every alarm is off when I wake up late in the morning.

I moved one next to my bed and I am thinking about setting up my video camera to see If someone is turning them off or If I really am sleeping through Three different alarms. oh well I am off to fix dinner for the kids will check back later.
well mabear i can say if it was me i know i slept through all 3 alarms i hear nothing i mean nothing when i sleep....
Oh yeah Hye, you can see the difference!  Good for YOU!!!  :)

I've thrown frozen veggies in ramen noodles for lil'V.  She hates when I do that but this big, bad mommy doesn't care!  Lol

I used to sleep through my alarm clock all the time.  I would get my mom to call me in the AM so I'd have my alarm clocks plus a ringing phone!!  Lol
Hello everyone!!!

Well today is the 3rd day on CC.  I have eaten around 1700 for today.  I am over by 100.  (kicking butt)  The cravings today is being a struggle.  I have almost checked to see how many cal a sonic MM blast has.  But an apple will be what I eat.  To help with my water I started putting about 4 oz of Crystal Light to my water.  That has helped some I made it up to 24 oz today(not counting the CL).

Welcome to Stephanie & PJ to the group I hope together we can kiss the weight good bye.

Gin, I hope things start to go better for you.  Life is never easy but it sure is great living it.

Well, good eats to all.

dizzy
I have my first workout w/ the tri team. I am super nervous! this should start gettin my butt into shape and get the weight melting off! haha in my dreams at least hehe. I had a work lunch today and did good, lots of salad, a chicken breast, some green beans (o yea i got them!), and some rice stuff. All pretty healthy I think. The run tonight should give me some extra calories so I had a bowl of Peanut Butter crunch cereal. mmmmm yummy. Ok I'm going to relax before the workout!
Thanks for all the support guys...I really appreciate you...today did go better...I made Josh lay in bed for an extra 30 minutes and then made him lay in bed to watch harry potter 3 which he never does in one sitting...I wouldn't let him up...he almost fell asleep but even though he didn't, he wasn't running around like a monkey and therefore did not tantrum today...Yeah!!!!!   AND, I took a nap for a whole hour this morning... I actually could sleep, normally I can't, I slept like the dead...:-)  So the stress was down and so was my eating...I like that....I made good choices and so far am only at 1617 calories and I go to bed in about 2 hours.....Yeah...maybe I can make up for one of the 75 points over days by only having 1725 calories today???we will see how it goes...

Kt I am so excited for you...I would love to join some of the stuff available in town but driving 36 miles each way just to workout seems like such a waste of gas $...Oh wellllll...I did get around 10 of our trees mowed this morning...which is good...tomorrow I will mow around another 11 trees in the back...Then we give the animals the grass clippings which they absolutely love...

Diz...you can do this...Don't worry about going over a little this week...It will get easier...I went from @3500 a day down to 2100 and I thought I was going to DIEEEEEEE....hehehehehe...but now I can even do less than 1800 a day and not feel too crazy as long as I can keep the stress down and you all are here...

HYE...the pictures!!!!!!!!!!You look wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!  I need help with my budget tooooo.

Mabear...I do not pretend to have a suggestion at this moment...I wake up at 4:30 am everymorning, rain or shine, workday or not...A question???do you get enough sleep???maybe you are so overly tired???  I have been there before...used to live on 4-6 hours a night...Hubby, a good man 99.999% of the time makes ;-) me sleep 7-8 a night...good guy!!!!!

bqueen...I lived on ramen for a longggg time...good stuff if you can add in a little bit of extras.  Rice is cheap as well....  I agree with checking in every couple of hours now which is good in one way and then time consuming in another...but, if I can come here and vent or just even check in, I don't eat as much....a really good thing.

Chris and VK...glad to see your are still checking in as wellllll...

Thank you all again...
Great pictures hye! You're beautiful before AND after ... but there is a very noticable difference. I lost almost 25 pounds now and I don't really notice that big a difference in my face. Maybe I should be taking pictures as I lose. Maybe we should all do that. That way when we get discouraged we can look at our pictorial weight loss record and get revved back up.

Weigh-in tomorrow. Hope my scale doesn't say this: Click Here
awwwwwww ell that is a great idea!!!  wow i dint know u had lost 25 pounds congrats to u!!!!

hugzzzzzzzzz all talk to everyone in the morning!!!
Not quite 25 yet, chris ... but maybe tomorrow
I can try to help all of you with your budgeting but, only if it's related to food.  I used to work in a food co-op a part of my job was to give tasty food suggestions to people with very low budgets.

Thanks for all your compliments on the photos.  I couldn't believe it myself when I saw the difference!!  I feel good...!

mabear - I used to sleep through super loud alarms!!  No suggestions here.

Diz - I think it's important to allow yourself a treat everyone once in a while as long as you make room for them in your calories.  If you are really strongly craving something, you should have a little just to fill the craving.

kt - You can do it!!!  Let us know how your first practice goes.

Ginny - Awww...you are a sweetheart!!  We're all here for eachother!  :)

ell-bell - I highly recommend the pictorial weight loss record.  You won't believe how much of a difference just a few pounds make.  I didn't think 10 lbs. was that noticeable but, when you have a picture to compare it to....there is!!!
So I see we have a budgeteer on our board eh Hye????  I may need your advice too...heeehee.  Your face has shrunk....you slim little thing you...you're lookin awesome....sooo pretty.  Hubby must be swoonin' now....heehehe

ginny-  hope you're holding your own my dear....sounds like you're having a tough go of it.  Hugs to you.

katie-  I'm so excited for you.  What a privilege to be able to do a triathon.  That's right eat well because you'll need it to keep your energy up.

diz- welcome if I haven't welcomed you already.  The cravings for me were really bad the first couple of weeks but then they slowly lessened and now I only crave certain things once in awhile.  Keep going you can do this...:)  I like the nestea crystals in my water when I get tired of just drinking water.

welcome Steph and Pj- I'm sure we'll all get to know you better in time.  Keep checkin in! :)

tabby- so sorry about your kitty.  We get so attached don't we?  Hope kitty comes home safe and happy...hugs

Ok there is some sort of challenge going on????? what did I miss?

I'm debating whether to weigh in tomorrow or not.....scared of the dumb scale  :P
yeah hye you totally can see the difference! You look great!     So glad you're feeling better ginny. That's just awful  what that person did, hard to fathom!        Sorry to hear you're sick bqueen. Funny, whenever my sisters or I got the flu my mom would say, well at least you'll lose some weight. Goofy.

I had 2000 cals today and it so didn't seem like it. I don't log my food most days anymore but it's good I did today so I could remember how easy it is to go over without realizing it. I'll have to be more careful tomorrow.

A woman at work mentioned today what she eats every day. She is doing low carb and she said she has sausage for breakfast, pork chops for lunch and a hot dog for dinner! I didn't want to say anything (after all I was eating nothing but meat and chocolate for a while myself) but I was thinking, wow, not too healthy!  She's lost 38 pounds so far but I know from experience that eating that way is not sustainable.  I love, love love the way I'm doing it now compared to other things I've tried.
Rockin, Chris posted a link on her post #1327.  It's a challenge in a different forum but I think there are 7 of us from here that are joining in so far.  I'm going to bug the initiator over the weekend to see if she can get the ones from this forum on the same team.  That would be so cool.

Diz, take it slow with your changes.  It is so much easier if you take it slow and one step at a time.  Don't get me wrong, it isn't simple but it's not as depriving if you make your changes in small steps.  And yes, like Hye said, fulfill your craving before it gets you eating everything in the house just to avoid the food you're craving.

Alright, I'm going to relax a little before hitting the sack.  TT you guys later!  :)
I signed up myself just now for the challenge :)
Ok i just got home from the first workout. It was only about a 35 minute walk/run/do-whatever-you-can and I walked the first half then hooked up w/ a girl who did the tri last year and did 3 min jogging 3 min walking the rest of the way back. I can't even remember the last time I jogged! I'm beat. And I'm starving but I don't know what to eat. i really want chipotle but I don't want to walk down there or pay monye lol. so I'm still starving! Sunday is the first swim workout adn I think that will make me feel better since I'm a swimmer and swimming is the weakest part for most people so I kinda have a leg up in that department. hmmm what to eat what to eat??????
kt...the workouts sound great...gearing up for the tri and getting some exercise at the same time...can't beat it!

ginny...so glad your day went a little better...I can't believe that woman stole from him...makes me more angry than you can imagine!
I can't believe you got Josh to sit for a whole movie...lol...I have tried it with Bobby...he has to get up even if it is just to go out of the room and come back...lol

ma...no ideas here on the alarms either...I am with vk...I used to put the alarm on the other side of the room and still get up, turn it off, and go back to bed without knowing.  I had a friend I used to work with that would call me every morning to wake me up...lol...now it is the hubby or the dogs...:)

hye...your pictures are awesome!  You can definitely tell a difference and you are and have always been beautiful!

ramen noodles are awesome...but I have to admit that I never thought about throwing in some veggies and things...good idea!

chris...how do you feed a family of 5 on 120 a week?  I am in awe of you!  I also have a family of 5 and though it is not much more, I think I spend abut 150 a week...we both get paid every 2 weeks so I shop 2 weeks at a time...it is tough...and then there is not always money for me to get the things I need...so I struggle but I try to make sure there is something low cal...:)

welcome to all the new people!  Glad to see you here!!  I have not checked in in a day or so, so I apologize for not being able to mention everyone by name...but I did read everything and I am so proud of everyone!

OKay...kitty update...he is still gone!  I walked around the neighborhood for about 45 minutes last night looking for him...I am going to make some fliers tonight to hang up around the neighborhood as well...I want another kitty to have while I am waiting for him to come home!  Everyone says he will come back and I sure hope so, and if he does, I will have 2 kitties...lol...I just miss him so much!  (Also stating that there are 3 dogs and 3 other cats here so I should not be lonely, but he was MY kitty)...lol

My son and stepdaughter are on their 8th grade trip to Washington DC...she is having a blast...he is sick!  He has had a stomach ache off and on for almost 2 weeks but he was doing fine on Tuesday and felt good Wednesday morning when they left...last night he missed a tour of the memorials because his stomach hurt so bad...he stayed on the bus...said it hurt so bad he cried...so he missed breakfast this morning and said it was still bothering him a lot...but now 3 other kids are not feeling well either...so at least he is not alone...I just hate it for him to be sick and so far away from me!  Luckily, one of the moms on the trip is a nurse at a local hospital and one of the bus drivers is a medic so at least I know he is with people who know what to do...

Enough rambling...Little Debbie got me last night...she is evil and that is all I have to say...lol...now my stomach is upset too and I know it was all her doing...lol...

Today is another day!!  Good luck everyone!

Good morning everyone!

Well, this is certainly the earliest I've been up in a long time.  So, this is what morning looks like....hmmm...not bad.

Today we're going to the in-laws and spending the weekend with them.  They are early to bed and early risers so, I figured I'd shake up my sleep schedule a little.  I'm more of a night owl instead of an early bird.

So....let's see....what I've missed since the last time I was here....

rockinmama: Thank you, thank you...!  Hubby was swooning before and swooning even more...and so full of lovely compliments!

blueotter:  It's about the only place you can notice the difference.  I'm not as puffy as I was before but, small changes elsewhere...well, except my chest.  It shrunk a lot.  I might as well wear training bras at this point!  :)  I'm glad that you love your new healthier lifestyle.  I enjoy the way I'm doing it now too.  However, it's not for everyone.  So, if it's working for our co-worker another way, good for her.  It's good you didn't say anything, there's nothing like a motivation killer than someone disagreeing with your method  - even if it's with good intentions.

kt:  Wow!  Good for you!  I'm not motivated enough to something like a triathlon but, lots and lots of kudos for you.  Perhaps you should plan a light dinner for the nights you workout with your team.  A salad or something like that.

tab:  You have a house full with kids, dogs and cats!  I totally understand what you mean by saying he was your kitty.  Well, you'll have to post some pictures of your new kitty.  I love puppies and kittens...pretty much anything that's baby.  I'm sorry to hear your son is sick while on his class trip, I hope he gets better to enjoy the rest of his trip and it must be reassuring to know that he is in the hands of capable people.  So, Little Miss Debbie gotcha again last night??  I should go punish her!  Leave Tab alone!  LOL....

Everyone have a nice day, weekend if I don't make it back on today.....!  Be back on Sunday.
