Over 200 club!
HI! My name is Laura and i am 5-5 and 235 lbs as of today. I did weigh 240 almot 2 weeks ago. I am counting calories cuz I do not know what ele to do. When i gave birth, I only weighed 201 lbs! My son is 5(his bday is halloween). I cant believe i have put on so much lately. I have high blood pressure so I am on Diovan. I am also on protonix( for heartburn). I took myself off depo provera lat Sept and currently have the IUD, Mirena. Birth control was part of it but that is why I switched to IUD. I am taking it slow, and watching what I eat. I guess I am supposed to stay under 1700 calories and I walked 20 minutes today. I hate exercise now but I have to do it to lose weight the old fashioned Way!
if you have any suggestions, please tell me....

Tabby...it is so good to catch up with you...yes it was cool to have him watch the whole thing...He is so excited he will be 12 in 38 days...I am waiting to hear from Medicaid which will probably take a while but I am sure it will all work out...
ROckin...so good to hear from you too...I hope you are able to join the challenge as well...I peeked this morning and it said 237...I can't wait until Monday morning to see if it is official and it will help me stay focused this weekend to not blow a 2 lb loss...
Kt I am so excited for you...and they are taking it slow so you won't feel weird and drop out...3 min walk/then run is great...you go girl!!!
Vk...hope you can get us all on the same team...she said that Sunday will be the cutoff so hopefully she will do it...
Stats for yesterday, day 25, May 18, 1708 calories, 48 ounces of water, yard work for over an hour...
Blue...You are brave at this point to try it without logging...I am so anal about it right now I would be paranoid to not carry my 3x5 card around with me and write everything down...good job noticing that you did go over and the lesson will help you stay on track in the future...great job...
Hye...I am glad you have that experience...My husband is great with money...I am not bad but I sometimes would go over budget if I didn't take care...In our home, I get a $1050 for the month for the family, food, gas, clothes, animals, etc...He keeps al the rest...(not a bad thing the way he does it)...he has a budget for himself and then all the rest goes in the bank...then, when we need or want something else, he has the $ to get it...We paid cash for one of our trucks and almost all of another...We pay cash for our animals, etc...I don't have to think about any of it...we need something, it is his job to get it...but then it is my job to feed us (all of us) on $1050 a month(I have been going over the last 2 months of $200-he hasn't said anythingbecasue he knows how much fuel has been)...It used to be easier but now food has gone so high and then gas...enough said...Because of the weather now...I am able to use the property to feed some of the animals...the rabbits, the alpacas...Josh and I mow 3 bags of grass each morning and feed everyone...that is helping a bunch and the exercise is a great bonus.
Ell-thanks for the scale pic...I laughed right out loud...It will be 25 today!!!!!!!

g'mornin' everbubby... today is going to be a challenge for me. i come over to my pg daughter's every day now, as she is at 34 weeks and needs help with the 4 yr old...well, she has no appropriate food here for me, and i spaced and left my box of food at home that i had set out to bring. gonna be lotsa fun tryin' t' figger out how to eat today. i have water aerobics today tho, so i think if i just put in a little extra effort, and add some dancing this afternoon, i should be ok until i get home to my good food.
wishin' everyone a good day!

Hey Everyone!!
Can I just say that I absolutely love this site and you guys??? It's been a really hectic week here - very intense meetings all week - so I haven't had time to post, but I've been reading. You're all amazing and I can't tell you how much it means to know that you're here, and how good it makes me feel to see everyone supporting each other. You're all awesome!! Thanks for the positive boost!
I wish I could respond/comment on everything that's been going on with everyone, but that would take too long and I don't want to make anyone's eyes fall out of their head from the strain (I can be quite wordy, as you've likely already figured out! haha), so I'll just add a couple of quick notes:
Ginny: Can't believe everything that happened with your son! I truly believe that you reap what you sow, so let's hope it's in spades for that worker! Unbelievable! Glad things were better yesterday and hope they continue in a positive direction.
Tabby: Hope kitty comes home soon! Know how you feel, especially about being surrounded by other people/animals but still missing your special baby! Good luck!
Mabear: Not sure if this would be an option for you, but I have a hard time getting up the morning also and have taken to setting my bedroom TV to turn on in the morning as my wake up. I have it set to a channel that's all static, and turn the volume up pretty high, and that wakes me right up. The first couple of days were pretty bad (picture clinging to the ceiling by fingernails from the shock), but I've since adjusted the volume so that I wake up without a heart attack every day. If you don't have a TV with a timer, you can do the same thing with a clock radio - just tune to horrible static and blast it. It's not pleasant, but it's pretty effective! Good luck!
Not sure who was talking about water intake difficulites - was that you Dizzy? (If not, whoever it was, please don't take offense for my lack of memory!) I use the flavor packets all the time. My current favorites are the 4C Totally Light 2 Go packets - no calories and they come in great flavors! I've been drinking a lot of the Cranberry Pomegranate and Green Tea, and frequently wind up drinking more than I'd planned just because I enjoy them. I keep a bunch of them in my purse, so no matter where I am, I'm covered. Just a thought. Hope it helps!
Holy cow! Just realized how much I've written - sorry!! I know I've missed a lot of people/events, so let me just say Congrats! to everyone!! Lots of losses reported and I'm very happy for all of you!! And for anyone who didn't lose, good for you too for keeping up with it! As long as we're working in the right direction and not giving up, that's a major positive! So good job, and good luck!
Have a great day!! Enjoy the weekend!! And again - thanks to all of you for just being you!!

PS - As if I hadn't already written enough - forgot to put in my weigh in results - down another 3 pounds this week, so down 8 lbs. total since 4/28. I've also noticed a definite change in size - some of the new clothes that I just bought a week and a half ago are already too big, but I've decided that I'm just going to have to keep wearing them for a while because I can't afford to go out and get more right now. (Hye - might need you to plan out my food budget so that I can fit in some shopping!! : ) haha) I'm just really happy to be seeing results, so will take it as it comes. Or goes, as the case may be! : )
OK, seriously enough out of me. Have a great day!!

smiley--have you ever seen the ring? omg your advice to mabear would scare the crap outta me! haha
yea so i went and got chipotle last night, shouldn't have but I wasn't prepared to come home and make dinner. I at least walked there, so that was about 7 blocks. I had also walked about 7 blocks to our post workout meeting. So those 14 blocks on top of hte workout I think should be okay. The scale was up a little today butI know it's because I wolfed down that burrito. Just gotta be on top of it today and drink lots of water and I'll be good. Boy was I sore last night though! Felt good! :)
Hope everyone is getting ready for a good weekend!

Woohoo ELL!!! Good going on your 4.5# loss! I know you were standing still for a while there too; your persistance paid off. SMILE and HAPPY DANCE!!!
Ginny, I will probably send her a message Saturday night with the list of us. We're only 2 short of being our own team now that Blue has checked in! :)
Smiley-I'm always afraid of getting too wordy myself...if you page through, I start off the next page a lot of times. I don't know if that's my wordiness or just plain old timing. Lol
Tabby-Bad Little Debbie...Darn Little Debbie!!! (grumble grumble) I hope your son is feeling better and starts enjoying his trip. I'm sure it is a relief he has professionals with him. Still, nothing like being there for them, eh? Tugs at the heart.

Oh, and Smiley...Woohoo to you too on your 3# loss! I found some "skinny" pants from way back when and put a pair on last night. They're casual pants, not for work...but at least I don't look like I sh** my pants in them! LOL
OK, VK - you made me laugh right out loud on that one! That was good! Thanks!
KT - I actually have seen The Ring, but it's been so long that I completely forgot about it! (Or perhaps blocked it out because it scared me??) Crap!! I may be right back to the heart attack thing come Monday morning!! Aaaahhhhhh!!!! On the plus side, I'll definitely be awake if I survive it! hahaha
Ell - sorry! Didn't say congrats to you! 4 1/2 lbs - that's awesome!! Congrats! I just did a happy dance for you in my head. (Didn't think laughing out loud to myself and dancing around in my office would look very good to my co-workers!)
Tabby - Sorry! I hope your son is feeling better now too! And I hope that it was just that evil Little Debbie that was making your stomach feel a bit off, and not that you're coming down with whatever your son has. Not sure where you live, so I'm not sure how far away from DC you are, but I can't imagine how hard that is for you to know that he's away from home and not feeling well. I hope that it helps that you know that he's got skilled caregivers in his group, although I would think it's still pretty hard on you. I'm not a mom, but have nieces and nephews and know how much I worry about them, so I can't even imagine how much harder it is for a parent! Hope he's feeling all better so that you'll worry less!
Seems that I've gone and done it again here, so think I'll just stop now before I run us all the way to page 75! hahaha
Talk to you later! : )

haha chris i don't think you want to know! for a chicken burrito w/ rice, pinto beans, cheese, sour cream it comes to about 1150 calories! i have it very very rarely! the burrito bowl is about 800 cals or so b/c the tortilla for the burrito is 330 cals! it's crazy. I usually get the bowl but I was hungry for a burrito last night. I'm gonna be super strict w/ my cals today. I even switched from sugar to splenda for my coffee so that makes a big difference!
Hey! Quick question - does your body ever get used to the extra water intake so that you don't have to run to the ladies room every hour or less, or is this just all part of the deal? Not that the extra walking isn't good seeing as how I haven't really worked up to the actual exercising stage yet, but still - it's kind of a pain sometimes. Just wondering.....
Chris, in the summary of the challenge she said she ideally wants teams of 10. So, I'm hoping to turn on the charm and charisma that is me and see if she's good with a team all ready. LOL
Ooh, Smiley...I don't know the answer to your question but just think...I am on 2 different types of water pills plus I drink about 3-4 liters of water a day. Yup...lots of exercise just going back and forth. I swear the constant squatting has got to do something for my legs too!!!

VK: My ticker things I am trying to create don't show up on here... I want to create an exercise one! Those little buggers really help motivate me. How come everyone elses show up and mine dont?!
Hye: Thank you for your suggestions... I don't like to eat Ramen Noodles because of their sodium content, they help me bloat! HEHEHEHE I do have whole grain pasta noodles and rice so maybe i can toss some of those in olive oil and throw a smiggen of parsley in and that is always yummy... Maybe toss in broccoli too! Like you, I am a good budgeter.... Last 2 weeks was a little different and had some unforseen circumstances... Everything will be okay on Monday. Your Doing great Hye!! Love the pictures. I would do a pictorial but my camera got stolen....
Ell: Great job! that is so awesome! I am cheering for you! 4.5 pounds is GREAT!
Totally random but I want to go to Australia!
Ate 3! Chili Cheese dogs last night, but it was the only thing I ate all day....
So far I have only had 2 Ravioli's today and some Sprite.... Not hungry! My meal doesn't even equal 150 calories.... BOO HOO.... I want strawberries, so I am surely gonna get some from my parents.
I think i am going to make it on my $10.00.... Love going to my parents... They have a ton of grapes and Strawberries! Okay... well my internet is down at work so I am on my co-workers computer... Hopefully get to chat later!
Still 205.6 lbs..... I wish it would go down...
My Sr. Cheer team did GREAT last night... didn't do much working out with them but moved my arms a lot! LOL
Andrew and i are going to the gym tonight, tomorrow and Sunday.... Those are our workout days along with Wednesday(if he is up here).... Anyway, Hope all is well!!!

BQ-I finally got my ticker from the tickerfactory to show up on my profile last night. I tried copying the link like you did but it didn't work for me either. I ended up highlighting the actual ticker picture, copied and pasted. I wanted one that showed my BMI. I want one for everything else but I can't get it working yet. I'll have to play with it a while I guess.
Can you guys tell I don't feel like working today!?!?!? LOL

CONGATS to ellbell and smiley, awsome!!!
smiley, I don't know if you get used to it, I've heard that you do, but I don't think I have. Well maybe it's gotten a little better. If I drink a whole bunch at once I can count on needing to go about 20 min later and then again 15 min later and maybe even again 15 or 20 min after that. It's just so crazy! I've been known to pull over in my bus when there's no kids on board and use one of the port-a-potty's that the construction workers have on the side of the road!
I'm a little worried about this challenge because I'm wondering if part of the whole points thing will involve exercise? Ahh scary!! I guess if it does it will be good for me cuz I wouldn't want to let the team down so I would just have to do it. Yikes! Have any of you done one of these challenges before? I haven't a clue how they work.

Hi, I'm Amanda! I'm just starting this weight loss thing. I've been laid off from work and getting fatter as the days go by! I'm currently 240/5'6", and my goal is 190. I know that isn't healthy according to officials, but I'll be comfortable at that weight, I'm sure. I look back at high school (6 years ago) and I think I looked good back then, even though I thought I was fat at the time! I've joined this website for some support from others who are going through the same thing I am. Good Luck to everyone, I know we can do it!
~Amanda

hey amanda!
I also have my goal weight high at 195, I'm 5'7". High school was a long time ago for me, but I also look back and think I looked pretty good at 170 even though I thought I was really fat at the time. I can't quite fathom 170 any more so I just want to be under 200 and it would be great to be out of plus sizes. Anyway, welcome and good luck.
