Where do you draw the line?
I don't consider it a line per se. If I'm hungry and I'm eating dinner and I continue to eat after I'm full because the food is delicious or w/e I call that overeating. If I stay up late watching tv and start munching on stuff even though I'm not hungry and I can't stop myself I call that binging.
when I binge, its almost like Im not there. I tell myself if no one sees me eat it and i eat it really quickly the calories dont count. Binging doesnt make me happy but its something I feel a compulsion to do. All I can focus on is the food.
Overeating is when I enjoy the food, so much that I eat more than I probabaly should but I dont feel a compulsion
Enjoying a few homemade cookies isnt binging,Eating the whole tray and still eating more is binging.
binge: you have no control, you are thinking about your problems, guilt, etc. NOT THE FOOD.
So last night after dinner I was hungry and so tired of dieting so I ate a small bowl of grapes with fiber one. But no, that wasn't enough. Even though i was no longer hungry I had ignited my sweet tooth... I poured some dark chocolate chips into the bowl and heated it with chex cereal and ate it with half a frozen banana. Then I proceded to pour some cheerios into the bowl and eat it with soy milk... followed my two more small bowls. Then when my brother ate an ice cream bar... I told him to bring me one too. I know that when I was eating the cereal I wasn't really thinking about it and I couldnt stop myself. Would this be considered binge eating?
P.S. Before the munchies began I had already eaten my days worth of allotted calories... And that day I didn't excercise which probably contributed to the "episode"

I agree with all of the above posts from other people. I should know too, because I've recently admitted to myself that I have a binge eating disorder. Trust me, binge eating is so not enjoyable. It's not really about food either. It's miserable really.
And I would say that yeedy's description sounds like binge eating to me.
