over exercising ahhh!!

i am constantly exercising in some way or another. i think i should stop. at least a little. how much is a good amount?? if i stop am i going to like gain weight because now my body's used to it? i dunno. just looking for some help

What do you mean too much? Being really active is a good thing. As long as you eat enough and you aren't pushing yourself over the line on a daily basis.

We need a bit more information before we can really answer you.

Overexercising is when you start hurting your own body and when you are not eating enough.

I can totally relate...  I am addicted to exercise as well.  I get cranky if I don't get my workout in.  I guess it's probably a better vice than some, huh?  However, it is important to keep in mind that too much of a good thing... is a bad thing.  I actually just strained my hip flexors from running too much and NOT giving myself days off.  Now, I am confined to only light exercises until it gets better.  Let me tell you, not fun!  Listen to your body.  And just eat in relation to how much you move, you won't gain weight.

Also, past the physical signs of overexercising, once if you feel it is interfering with other parts of your life, then maybe its a sign to make a goal to only exercise a certian amount each week.  Then spend your off days with family, friends, school, catching up on work, cleaning, whatever it was you felt was being interfered with.

Overexercising, in my opinion, really should be the first thing to consider when starting a serious fitness program. The time spent recovering from overexcercising is detrimental to overall fitness and will delay any progress, moreso than underexcercising.
