Who's with me?
Hi,
I'm 53 and my weight averages about 132 pounds; I'm 5' 7.75", nearly 5' 8". I got to this weight after starting an exercise program (Taekwondo) and changing what I was eating about 2 years ago. I started out at about 160 pounds.
5'8" and 47 .... my goal is 145 (I think) -- but I'm stuck in the 150-153 range. Started at 210 in Aug 07 -- it's doable, I promise.
Eat (1500-1900 calories per day, 90% healthy)
Exercise (60-75 mins 2-5 times per week
Water (128-180 oz per day (I have never been a soda drinker, water has always been my drink of choice)
Fiber (48-70 grams per day -- from foods, not supplements)
(chocolate) -- whenever I feel the need

5'8" will be 40 in August, does that count?!?! I try to stay within the 132-135 range down from 235 in August 02.
coach_k, what are you eating to get so much fiber in one day? Please share!!
edit for tips: sorry, I was/am so astounded re coach's fiber intake!
Tips: never eliminate anything you love! Moderation is the key. You didn't gain it overnight, it only feels like it. Pump it up! Light weights do wonders!

Lots of veggies, fruits, and beans -- but also, Kashi Go Lean cereal, La Tortilla Factory wraps, Arnold bread (natural wheat or flax and fiber), and Thomas's English muffins.
I eat veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, and/or asparagus) at darn near every meal, I throw black beans into all my soups/chilis, used refried beans as spreads, etc....
Yeah for you!! I am almost 43 and I have been weight watchers for 2 years and have lost 47 pounds and I only have 25 to go!! It's really a struggle now because those are the hardest for me to lose!! So kept it up it is TOTALLY worth it!!!!!! Pam![]()
Thanks Pam!
I am almost 43 also (September), so I'm right there with you! Good job on the 47 pounds, that's awesome! According to my scale I am 195 today, but it was a little shaky so I will save that post for a more solid report
.
Thanks so much for the encouragement and support!
just lost 40 lbs and am striving for an additional 17 lbs. stats are as follows:
5'4"
147
43
three things: 1.) Log everything you eat or drink, 2.) drink between 64-128 ounces of water per day (if your hungry drink a bottle of water and wait a few minutes), 3.) exercise even if it is a walk around the block.
Easier said than done. sometimes i have to take it ten minutes at a time. i just read something in a book called "Lone Survivor" where he explains about SEAL training, to paraphrase don't look ahead too far just get through what your doing right now and move to the next thing. I really believe that right now because i feel stalled and stubborn about my eating right now. i need to overcome it too. BUT WE CAN DO THIS!!![]()
I'd like to be part of this group.

I'm a very active woman for my size and age--soccer 2x/week, lots of walking/hiking/jogging. I will be adding some weight training soon during my six week "off session" when I don't play soccer. I really need to strengthen certain muscles because of the punting I have to do if I play goalie (I only play about one quarter if I take the goal because I LOVE the running of the game!)
So, where do y'all live? I'm in Wisconsin but I grew up in Virgnia.
Tips: don't have any yet, although several mentioned here are great for me--the water, the walking. I might add, don't overtrain because an injury will slow you down and drive you crazy if exercise is an important part of your life!
Hi all - I'm 5'8", 41 year old mom of 2. Currently stuck at 176 down from 187 (this time) Three years I ago I climbed to around 205 got this far and started back up. I'm hoping to keep it off this time!
I am starting to feel good about myself but don't want to get too placid. I have a busy lifestyle so its not always easy to fit time in for me.
Hopefully this bump will get us all to post our stats and keep one another motivated!

Need to get more serious about working out and eating healthy. I find it too easy to slip lately.
Let's give our group a name so we can keep track of posts. I'd rather have folks start a new thread than continue an old one, because they get so long!!! But I'll do whatever the group wants.
So, since wants2bhot started us, she gets to "name" us. What will we be? The 5'840s? Sounds like a degree of latitude!:)
Just let me know.
Update for today: I've been consistently following CC since June 14. I've lost 8 lbs but had too much hunger this week so I'm tweaking my regimen. Eating bigger meals earlier in the day. Let's see if I'm starving tonight!! :)
The 5'840's sounds good to me! I'm with it! So glad to see you ladies are still with me. I need all the motivation/butt kickin' I can get! :0)
Well, I have been maintaining, which isn't bad considering I have not been on my best behavior, but still need want to reach the goal of getting into the 180's so I need to get myself back on track!
Update for today: At 194. If only I would exercise more consistantly.......
I'm still here too. Weighted in at 173.5 today. Another 8.5lbs and I'll won't be considered "slightly overweight" anymore. Getting a bit scary. I don't want to get complacent like I did years ago and watch the scale rise back up
Hi all ....how is everyone doing? Unfortunately, since my last post on this forum A MONTH AGO I haven't lost a pound. I went on vacation and totally lost motivation. I'm really hoping to get it back and get out of the 170's.
Hope you are all doing better than me!
