I am 55. Talk away!

I'm 65, and have been on this diet for 6 weeks and have lost 15 lbs.

I'm 63.  Weighed 307 when I started dieting in January 2004 and lost 85 pounds that year.  Gained back 48.  Weighed 270 when I started on May 23rd and have lost 42 pounds.  Am currently at 228.  I don't expect to ever be thin, again.  If I can get to 185, I'll be THRILLED.

I'm not over 50. But my mom-in-law who's been watching me diet successfully is. She wants to know how to do it. So I'm interested in this thread. She's 61, and has a borderline BMI of 24.5. She's 5'2". According to her stats, she has to eat at  the minimum 1200 to lose weight, and even that her rate of loss will be pretty slow. I'd like to hear how others who have successfully lost weight Cc'ing have done it, and maybe I can communicate this to her.

I am 51 so please ask away...be glad to answer either here or if you want it to be private just email me.  I will be glad to help.   BTW I lost over 70lbs and have kept it off.
