Hi there,
new to the board, and love the support, but I would love to see some taller girls weigh in ;) I personally will never want or probably be able to weigh anything less than 150- so seeing some of these posts from more petite women aiming for 115 kinda discourages me :( sorry :(
anyways- let me know if there's any interest and we can discuss our sizes, where to buy the best jeans and some great 400 calorie meals!
Laura
hi there! I am 5'8" and am currently weighing in at 140. I know this seems small but I have proportion issues. I don't gain weight anywhere at all except for in my belly. And oh, what a belly that is! It's really weird because as a female, you would anticipate a gal complaining about bigger hips or bootie, but no, I long for all that. Imagine your waist being bigger than your hips! Exactly... ick. Anyway my goal is just to be proportionate, I don't really care if I weigh 140-155.
As for jeans, I hate to say it, but the more expensive brands seem to be very length conscious. What sizes are you looking for? My best friend, also my height, but a size 20, has been doing well at Torrid.
A great meal I have been making lately is chicken fajitas. It's so easy- I just use half a chicken breast and saute with onions, green, yellow, and red peppers, and a tsp. of olive oil. Sometimes I will sprinkle some taco or fajita seasoning (dependson if I'm feeling spicy ;) ) When using a wrap, I go with whole wheat, but usually I just forego the wrap. Instead of sour cream, I've been using Tofutti non dairy sour cream (I'm lactarded), and squeeze lime over some chopped tomato, cilantro, jalapeno, and onion for salsa. It really does taste great and fills me up.
great recipe!
I'm a size 12 at gap and love their jeans and dress pants! of all the places to be a 12, I never thought it'd be the gap! But I know some of their pants have give, so it gives me a false sense of security! lol
Belly weight seems to be so much more common the last 5 years with younger girls- I mean anywhere from 13-25; I'm 30. Thid build is everywhere; thinner legs, small tush and a tummy. I can't help but think it's all these foods packed full of preservatives, liquor and sugar. Whenever I get too many sweets, that's exactly where it hits. Which is odd, because you can't say the same thing about hips- I know people joke it's going straight to their hips, but nothing really can be done specifically about those darn things!
140 pounds is awesome though! People would think I was on some liquid diet if I lost that much weight!
Hi!
I am 5'7'', started at 185, currently at 165.5, my goal is 145ish...great idea on the tall-ness! I see these little girls wanting weight 105 and my heart sinks because i could never ever weight that little.
I'm a 10 at teh Gap now...which is amazing to me!!
I eat lots and lots of greek yogurt, its my new fave...i do lots of chicken, salmon, etc.
great! I'd love to see that weight adn a size 10! Are you following a certain plan?
Hello :)
I'm 5'8.. currently about 130 and a size 2-4. I used to be 155 size 8-10.
Now I buy jeans at Guess and Express mostly. They are on the expensive side ($100ish) but for me I'd rather have 1 great sexy pair that fit than 3 pairs of high waters that don't fit my ass right! haha.
No plan...just counting calories and exercising. I don't do a lot of cardio, I mostly lift weights
Hi! I'm 25, 5'7" and weighed in at 155 yesterday. I am shooting for 140-145. Currently, I am somewhere between an 8 and a 10 at GAP - at one point, I could wear a 6. :( I really want to be there again! I have a stack of pants in my closet I have outgrown, so I'm looking forward to being able to wear them again. On the flip side, I also have pants I've "ingrown" - and hope to NEVER wear again (unless I'm pregnant).
Speaking of, my husband and I are trying for baby number two, so my weight loss journey is really only month by month right now. I would really like to lose about 5% of my body weight this month - would put me around 147.
As far as my plan goes, I have decided (for now) not to enter in my cals every day. I do well for a while, then I get bored doing it so often and go off the deep end. No, the idea for now is small portions, good choices, and exercise - which I do 5-7 times a week.
Thanks for the post! So many are "short girls, 5'5" and under" and "tall girls 5'10" and over" - glad you made one I fit in!
Hi there! I'm 5'10 and I gotta say i totally agree about being discouraged when hearing peoples whose goals are 110 lbs and whose starting weight is my goal weight.
I have just recently found that if you go to Lands End (online) they have quite the selection of tall girl jeans for around $35-$45. I am all leg, so I was super excited that they even have 36" inseams... now i can wear jeans with heals.. WOOHOO!!
Hey I'm 5'8" and I weigh around 130-132. I'm down from around 150, which is pretty amazing for me (I used to play junior pro tennis, had to quit, and ballooned from 140 with muscles to 150 with less muscles).
For jeans, I have a huge problem. If I get them long enough, they sag at the butt/hips and I'm constantly pulling them off. I'm not a big fan of belts either, so I was actually thinking of sewing in an elastic band xD. I'm pear-shaped, so skinny jeans are also a no go on me.
Amazingly enough, I found a pair of size 5 jeans at Hollister (bleh store, I know, but I was jeans desperate) that are boot-cut and very flattering. They also nearly perfectly fit me, although there's still a little sag, but oh well. Can't have everything!
Hmmm... great 400 calorie meals... I usually never eat 400 calories in one sitting as I'm more of a constant snacker (200 cal for breakfast, around 250 for lunch). Night time is when I eat the most calories, so for dinner I'm looking at around 300-400.
I love to make cabbage - just stir-fry it up in a pan with maybe some chopped tomatos in there. It's 35 calories for a whole cup, and 2 cups will stuff you! I'm also a big fan of roasted chicken breast, buckwheat, and unfortunately, Ikea's meatballs (6 for 200 calories! They can fill you up well!). Any of those are healthy low-cal options (except maybe Ikea, lol)
