Over the past several years I hit my heaviest of 233...ouch.... I was in complete denial.
Back a year and a half ago I weighed in at 149... a huge success. Now I am back up to 174. I think its worse when you loose it...then gain some of it back...because I remember telling myself this is the last time I will ever be this heavy.
So here I am.. I am on wk 2 of logging ect..... I know how to do it..but run into obstacles. I am looking for advice and hopefully some friends along the way to share our success's with!
My heaviest weight was 229 and that was 5 years ago, very close to yours. Congrats on not gaining it all back, plus some. Weight loss is not easy, or we would all be thin. I am currently 191 lbs, the lowest I have been in a long time. For me its hard to believe I weigh what I do, because I don't feel fat until I'm around a group of people who are not as heavy as me. All we can do is continue on a healthy lifestyle and support each other through the journey. I have been back at cc and the gym for about 2 months, and I have lost about 12 lbs or so, not great but slow and steady. It's very easy to get discouraged when the scale seems to jump back up for no reason. I have to tell myself that as long as I stay within my calorie limits and exercise that the weight WILL come off. Oh an don't deprive yourself, make allowances for things you crave, that way you don't view your food choices as a diet but more a lifestyle. It has helped me a lot.
I know I hope to see my 12 lbs turn into 20 lbs, and on down the line. I also try to keep positive when the scale does' move but picturing the good things I am doing for my body by eating healthy and exercising.
Stay postive! I'm always here for support if you need it, I have plenty of room for new friends!
I am right there with you! I just weighed in at 222! I had no idea I was that heavy! I have never tried to loose wieght and am looking for advice. I just joined the site a couple days ago and have been losing weight steadily. About 10 in the last 2-3 weeks. Are there any tips you could give me? I try to workout everyday and limit my calories. I guess I just need to hear from someone, that this works!
Mcelroy- It definitley works, but it is not fast nor should it be. Its a slow steady weight loss. I hope you stick around to see some real results! Just be persistant and watch your calories and stay active.
I think that's great Mcelroy that you are here for the journey!! Its one day at a time...one meal at a time... I remember putting some pictures of some thin girls on my refrigerator... so everytime I would go to eat something I would see that...and ask myself...is that piece of food more important then looking like that??
I say I have weighed myself everyday...just to keep in check. That was one way I was successful. I worked out everyday... now I am trying to work out 3-4 times a wk. Tracking everything you eat; researching new ways to make the things you love but lower in calories, and setting small goals.. example shoot to be in the 210's... then 200's... then the 190's... everytime that scale would show another set of numbers I would be so happy!!.
I am new to this site also..so anytime you need a pep talk or anything please let me know!!
