Any over 40's out there!

Quote  |  Reply

You know you hear it all the time.  "The older you get the harder it is to lose wieght." or "It will caught up to when hit your 30's"  It is a well known fact that as your metabolism slows down.  I've only been on this website 4 days and I have looked around some but didn't come across anything yet for some of us older ones trying to lose wieght!  I was just on find your twin and noticed that mostly younger crowd signing in there. Couldn't go through 90 pages to find some my age.  Thought I'd start a thread to find a buddy of similiar age and stats geared to motivate those of us with the Age challenge.

So here is mine

AGE: 45

Height 5'3 or 5'4 (been a while since I measured my self)

Wieight: 206lb

Build: Large (I think by the wrist test)

Weight Goal:135 -

Non Weight Goal - Working out 5 times a week doing at least 30-60 minutes of cardio or swimming and weights 2-3 times a week for 40 minutes,

Anyone out there that is similiar and would like to work at motivating each other!

Hi all.   I haven't been able to check-in in a while.  September just throws off my whole life!  Its great that the kids are back in school, but between their sports practices and games (football, softball & Basketball) there is very little time for me!  In some ways I don't mind, because I really enjoy watching them play sports.  Its trying to do that and keep up the homework and school stuff.  The amount of paperwork that comes home from the school sometimes....fundraisers,  $ for this, and $ for that.  I need a private secretary to keep it all straight!

Anyway, I resigned to the fact that I won't be able to exercise as much and just hope to maintain or lose slowly.  If I can do that for the  next couple of months, I'll be happy.  I just don't want to climb back up.

I didn't get to read through all the posts, but I hope you are all doing well.  Welcome to the new people!

What do you all think about the "group" think on CC? There is a 40something group there but the downside is that you can not just post what ever ramblings you want, etc..

Just thought I would probe...

I like the group thing cawilder but you can't just ramble I think sometimes that is just a MUST!!!!

Hope everyone is doing well, I am still at 148 and I have been riding the bike for a week and absolutely LOVE it!!!!  My 11 year old always wants to race but I am not up to racing just yet.  Maybe in a while!!!!!  Added weights and crunches on the day I bike because I am not sure what all is toning when I ride.  It feels like everything.  LOL!!!

Great success to ALL!!!!

Hi all,

It's been really quiet here lately. It's been a while since I posted, too.  Welcome to the new people.

Things here are crazed with school and sports and other activities.  I feel like I'm constantly running.  Missy, I can relate with the paper work that comes with going back to school.  And may I say I don't like homework anymore now than when I was in schoolLaughing

cawilder -I have not checked out any of the groups but CC is certainly promoting them with all the advertisements.

Weight wise, I'm in a holding pattern otherwise known as Plateau City.  I'm not exercising near enough but at least I'm not gaining.

That about all for me.  Have a great week

Hi all.  I'm still around but haven't had much time lately to even log my food.  I havent' really gotten back into exercising since I got back from vacation in August.  I work in the financial industry so needless to say - times are hectic and stressful.  Not an easy time at all.

I am proud to say though, despite my crazy schedule with the kids school and extracurricular activities, I am still maintaining and not putting back on any of the weight.  If anything, I'm still losing just very very slowly.  I was hoping to be out of the 170's by the end of September and I dare say I may have done it.  I weighed in today at 169.5. I'm not willing to accept it as a true weight until I hold it for two more days. (my own little game with myself).

I'm supposed to go rollerskating with a bunch of adults tomorrow night. I used to love to rollerskating. Now I'm just looking forward to the night out and a little excercise. Its been a LONG time since I've been out.

Hope you are all doing well.

Kristine

Hey all, Sorry I dropped out of sight for a while.  Started school and I haven't even logged on to cc since Aug.  What with getting everything ready to start and then no going to the classes everyday.  I haven't even counted one calorie.  It is a long weekend and I had all my homework done so I have a little time for catch up.  I hope all of you are doing well.  I have lost a lot of that muscle tone I was just begining to build because I have had to drop the strength training.  I have still been going to the gym but I go between 600 am and 700am I can only swim 1/2 mile then get showered and back home to get my son to school.  I don't have to go to school most days until 9 or 10 but I go as soon as I drop off my son because he's school is right next to the college and parking and traffic is horrible.  I can't seem to get back to the gym and do anything without being late for class so I usually go and study or do homework during that time.  I haven't counted one calorie since Aug.  I haven't gained any weight but I feel like I have because all the toning I had been doing has just all loosened up!  UGH!  Some how I have to figure out a program/schedule to get this weight off.  I would like to be in good shape for my son's August wedding in 2009!

Anyway, Hope all you girls are doing good!
