i overate...by alot!
last night i had a girls night with some friends and we had a lot of bread, bagel bites and hot wings. i overate my calorie amount by about 850. :O so today my weight was up 2 1/2 pounds from yesterday. if i eat less and exercise an hour today will it all balance out? my weight will go back down tomorrow?
You didn't gain 2.5lbs by eating 850 cals. What's happened is that you ate a lot of salty, starchy foods and your body is retaining some fluids as a result. Eat normal amounts, exercise normally and drink more fluids today if you want it to balance out. Don't compensate with lots of exercise and nothing to eat.... that's not a good way to manage it.
alright i will do that (: thanks!
According to my weigh-in charts, I have on certain days gained as much as 7 pounds one day and on another day lost as much as 6 pounds on a specific weigh-in. Water-weight and BM's definitely affected both weigh-ins. You need not worry about an occasional +850 calories. At most that is 1/4th pound gain, and can easily be gotten rid of without any particular extra effort.
woah! i wish i had the 6 pound loss. ha. that would be FANTASTIC! yeah im going mountain biking today so i'll burn a lotta calories and hopefully be back down tomorrow. gosh i hate weigh fluctuations and sodium!!! ):
I have argued/discussed with several members of CC about how often to weigh-in. I weigh-in anywhere from 3-8 times a day, just to see how I am doing and to fill in my spread-sheets; but mainly I want to get an average of what I weigh daily. But I agree that if people get too obsessive or too worried about a "higher" reading, then they should only weigh at most once a day, first thing in the morning before breakfast and if possible after a BM. In fact, some people should only weigh once a week. Just think if I only weighed once a day or once a week. I would have thought my 7 pound weight gain was something about which to be concerned. It wasn't at all and was gone in two days.
'spreadsheets for weight monitoring'??
pilgrimdude... thats obsessive
LOL Maybe for some people. But for me it's a hobby!

Bagel Bites, yum. I havent had those since I gave up frozen foods!(Long Time Ago (: ) Anyways, stuff like bagel bites or pizza rolls have a high sodium intake! This will lead into water retention, you most likely havent gained one pound! Don't worry about it! (: Its atcually healthy for you to eat over your calorie limit once in a while because it atcually shocks your metabolism a bit. Plus it was a girls night out, you should enjoy it! (: Hope this helps.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
