overeating when tired
well yesterday was not a good diet day for me i just blew it again . i started with a good breakfast but lunch i was not able to resist cantonese stirfry and ate allot then i got home and was so tired i did not want to cook so we went to burgerking #!$@#% it is not the place to go when you are dieting and tired hungry and just want to eat . i had a fish sandwich and cheesey tots they were good but i did not havew to have them if i had eaten a salad i would have been better off and probably felt better so today i am removeing weight again back to my new eating habits.
i do notice that i eat more when i don't get a lot of sleep.
I've noticed that I tend to crave sugary stuff when I'm feeling stressed and tired, probably due to the effects of low blood sugar. potentially overtrained and not eating enough to fuel your body's mechanisms.
Some dieters put in one bad food refeed day once a week where they eat junk food, tv dinners, take out, or fast food, and that tends to keep them from betraying their diet the other six remaining days of the week.
The refeed day also can prevent plateauing which tends to make you stay at the same weight for weeks or even months without losing.
Break down where the day went wrong and it could help you develop a strategy to avoid it happening again.
1. You had a good breakfast... so the day started well
2. Why were you unable to resist a stir-fry lunch? What were you going to have for lunch that day? Did you have nothing planned - just going with the flow? Was your planned lunch going to be boring and tasteless? Would it have helped you 'resist' if you'd had a tasty packed lunch ready to eat? Did you overeat because you were hungry? Would a bigger breakfast have helped?
3. "So tired I did not want to cook"... How about this weekend cooking up some extra portions of dishes and popping them in the freezer? That way next time you're tired (and it happens to us all) you won't be heading for Burgerking at all but you'll be able to microwave a nice healthy meal in a few minutes and feeling good about it.
If you think it through rationally you can probably set things up for the future to make a similar day less likely to happen. Planning and preparation are essential to get your healthy lifestyle truly underway... and minimise the 'on the hoof' eating decisions that you didn't manage so well this time. Best of luck
I find when I'm that tired, cold/raw food just doesn't appeal to me either - I want something hot and comforting. Freezing a few portions of a healthy microwavable meal sounds like a great idea.
great ideas will look at this i was planning a salad (which i love) at the same cafateria the smell was so good. i know its an excuse none of that any more will not over eat again . i did real well yesterday and even ate out for dinner
ffs
