Am I overweight looking? (for my frame size) PICTURES WORK NOW!

Okay, I know this is a weird question but I'm not anorexic or deluded. I know the wrist trick- the thing is, my fingers kind of overlap, more than touch, but I'm not sure if that means I'd go with small or medium frame. Anyway, I'm 5' 6" and 129 lbs. Here are pictures of me:

I fall into the "ideal" category but I have a lot of fat on me. Like it just looks like I'm meant to be like 120 or something. I'm awful at dieting though and it's hard for me to jog- I have exercise induced asthma and when I try I feel like I can't breathe. Is walking really enough to lose ten pounds when I'm so close to being "normal" and I've been this way for a long time? I thought you had to get your heart rate up? Eh. I've started doing crunches and squats but I know you have to get rid of the fat on top with cardio to even notice anything underneath.

I have a lot of "muffin top"?  Butt fat, thigh fat, and stuff around my arms. also I have a ton I can grab on my stomach. Help?

Do people have a problem with questions like this? Noone's replied :?
You don't look overweight, but I can understand wanting to work out and lose some fat and gain more definition
Try Googling "body frame calculator" and actually measure your wrist and elbow breadth. The "wrist trick" too left me wondering if I'm small or medium frame. I think a calculator is more exact.

And no, you look fine for your height/weight but if losing a bit of weight will make you feel better, go for it :)

Walking doesn't do me any good for me. Wish it did!

I have that red shirt but in green!

I don't really think you need to lose weight but it's possible to be thin and still have a higher body fat percentage. I would do some circuit training (weights) to build up a little muscle. That shouldn't cause a problem with your asthma either. Building muscle will help increase your metabolism too. I could also see yoga helping with definition. The strengthening kind, not the aerobic kind.

Honestly you don't really *need* to do any of that though if yit's just about looks. You look fine the way you are. :)

I looked-ded at cha'....you really do not look like you need lose anymore weight...per se', but I know even at my perfect healthy weight I have never been satisfied with my body...until..I did weight training !!! I am 5'5 I weighed 125 and was a size 4 and had 14% body fat. It was all muscle. I think you at 5'6 at 130 is perfection. Just pick up those weights girl !

I have the same problem with the asthma. I found starting at a slow pace on a low level of an elliptical for about 20 minutes a day everyday really helps strengthen up the lungs. When that no longer bothers bump it up to 30 minutes and so on. It really does help with being able to do other exercises without feeling like your lungs are on fire.
Um, you don't look overweight to me, not at all. You know that women are supposed to have 19-24% body fat when they are physically fit, right? For men it's only 5-15%. Women are designed to have wobbly bits: not having any is a sign of unhealthiness.

It doesn't look like you're meant to be 10 lbs less than that.

You don't look remotely overweight to me.

As a woman, you are supposed to have some fat. Ideally your body parts should have some movement to them, despite the bizarre and unnatural ideal that everything about a person's body should be taut, toned, and immobile.

You shouldn't need to look like a teenage boy in order to be a healthy, attractive adult woman.

note that at 120 you'd be a little underweight.  And that as you trade fat for muscle tone you probably won't lose any *weight* although you may see some size loss.
That picture's too small to even see you... but at 5'6" 129 pounds is not REMOTELY 'overweight'!
I think you have a very nice figure, but I don't see why you shouldn't "tone up" if you believe it will make you happier with your image. I agree that some light weight lifting and exercise acompanied with a little yoga would definetely give you the picture that you are looking for. You havn't given any information about your diet, but if you eat good you definetely feel good. Maybe you wouldnt feel the need to lose ten pounds if you made your diet a little healthier. But I don't believe you need to eat less. You'll possibly even tone up/have a flatter stomach just by incorporating more fruit and veg into your diet. Remember if youre good to your body, it's good to you ;)
You don't need to lose any weight. But, if you're concerned about proportionality, build up your arms and upper body a little bit by lifting weights. If your shoulders are broader, your hips and belly will look slimmer.
The photo is small but you don't look like you have any flab to speak of.

Are you sure your vision of "ideal" isn't being skewed by the media and pics of too-skinny models and celebs? Remember most of those models are teenagers and the celebs are plain nuts.
That picture is too small to see anything at all and no 5'6" and 129 is not overweight, in fact it's rather slim. Like others said, if you aren't happy with your appearance and feel flabby maybe you should tone up.
You are not at all over weight looking. If you have a muffin top, butt and thigh fat or flabby tummy at your weight, all you need to do is tone. You may notice your actual weight go up a little as you build muscle and tone, don't take that as failure.

You look beautiful!

Add some toning in (if you want) but it looks like you are very nicely proportioned already.

You are not overweight!!  I am about 5'6"/5'7" & I weight about 135-140 (I don't know for sure because I haven't weighed myself in a long time).

I am in the same boat as you: big thighs, big bum, & on some days a muffin top.  I am just trying to tone it all up (especially above mentioned region) and lose a bit of weight (trying to get to be around 125-130).  It's like I know that I am not overweight, but my thighs & bum do not match my upper body at all!!!

i have the same problem, i am a ok weight or my height, but im overweight or my frame. it is because you have a small frame which means that your body mass is a smaller proportion of your total mass, which meas more of the weight is because of fat muscle etc etc. but u cant always use one means to calculate if ur a healthy weight, your at percentage amongst other things should be considered.

i am fairly slim around my arms but have lots of fat around my stomach, which means im not eating the right things. i don't even think i eat that much but i suppose it has to do with genetics and metabolism etc.

i advise you not to go on a diet unless you actually see a doctor and they say that your are overweight. just eat healthily and be more active. i am doing the same.

hope i have helped, good luck Smile
