128 oz water yesterday... is it bad?
I was up late last night (actually, til 1:30 am) and I had a total of 128 oz of water for the day. I was just curious if this could hurt me? I had it in a matter of about 6 or 7 hours, so it's not like I was chugging it down... I drink a lot (whether it's water, tea, soda, juice) at a time though.... I am just curious if this could be bad... And yes, I did workout yesterday, but only for 15 minutes @ 15mph on a stationary bike.
I typically drink 2 GALLONS of plain water every single day, PLUS at least another gallon or even more of other drinks (soda, & even more water drinks like teas etc..)
I'm always thirsty, even with drinking that much. & I of course pee allllll the time.
I've been tested for everything to see why I'm so thirsty & there's nothing wrong - it's just the way I've always been. Dr said as long as I feel fine & pee often, don't worry about all the drinking.
One glass = 8 ounces (x) 6 glasses (minimum recommendation) = 48 ounces. No more than 10 glasses (80 ounces) is recommended because of the potential kidney damage.
"Thirsty" people should check for potential diabetes. Also, if their iodized salt level is 'up' (some cut out salt 100% and that causes thirt and water-retention because of the LACK of a trace amount of salt). A pinch of salt from the container, assures you won't be deficient.

lol XD most of the time it's a normal pee color, but sometimes it's very very pale (hardly yellow at all) but if I don't drink that much, I feel weird, and dehydrated. hmmm I think it just depends on the person.
okay this kind of worries me. i drink a lot of water every day too - i dont monitor how much but probably like close to 3L (i dont know how much that is in oz). and i actually AIM for my pee to be completely pale. like not yellow AT ALL. and most of the time i achieve that (except when i've just eaten). i thought it was good for your pee to be clear...am i wrong?
I typically drink 4 liters of water a day and the same in herbal tea. However, I am a big woman (5'10" and 240 lbs).
If you are concerned about the health effects of increased water/liquid consumption, you can ask the doctor to check out your kidney function etc. In my yearly check-up, they do all the blood work and "pee in a cup" tests.

Pee Color Info from Yahoo.....
The color of pee is caused by bile, a chemical the liver produces to break up fat. When our bodies break down bile, the pigment urochrome turns pee yellow. The lighter the color, the more liquid has watered it down.
In fact, you can easily determine if you're dehydrated from the color of your urine. Dark yellow is a symptom of moderate dehydration and is a sign that you should drink fluids right away. However, taking vitamin supplements can also cause pee to appear yellow.
Believe it or not, urine's yellow color was once believed to come from gold. Long ago, alchemists attempted to extract gold from pee. Needless to say, they were unsuccessful. However, in 1669, an alchemist named Hennig Brand discovered phosphorus while engaged in the undertaking. Among other things, this find helped to spark the creation of matches.
You may have asked this question lightheartedly, but for hikers and parents of small children, understanding the significance is important for health and safety.

I go through about that much every day, sometimes even more...lol, my mom's started to get worried about me dry-drowning. I just can't help it, I get so thirsty all the time...and I use water to stave off cravings, so I'm getting it even when I don't think I need it. Insane, huh? I feel so awful on days when I don't guzzle down an insane amount of water.
Too much water in a short amount of time can lead to an acute problem called water intoxication. Electrolytes are flushed out of the body upsetting the natural balance. People have been known to die of water intoxication.
Here is a good article from our friends at About.com. It was easy to find - I googled it and it too about a minute to locate and paste the link here.
