Padding in your bras, Ladies?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm rather curious on how padded other girls' bras are.

Please post in this format:

* Measure the fullest part of your chest while wearing your most commonly worn bra. Then subtract from it your measurement without any clothes or bra on. Afterwards, divide that difference by your no-bra measurement to get a percentage. (Is this confusing?) Post that percentage.
*Your age
*Any comments

Me:
* 3.23%
* Age 17
* I sometimes feel like I'm cheating, but I figure if a lot of females are doing the same, it's not really cheating. Maybe.

Im actually the complete opposite. I HATE my boobs, i wish i was flat chested. Im a 34B and i hate it. I have actually gone as far as buying really tight boob tube tops to squash them down. YUCK i hate my boobs.

BUT thats just me, my sister has great boobs and she loves them, wishes they were bigger. My flatmate has these chicken fillet things, they are silicone implants i think, they stick to your skin and then she puts a padded bra on top of them. I think she is normally a 30B and with the silicone things prob a 32 C to D. Wow thats weird that i know that.

Sorry this is totally random!!

i invested in permanent padding Laughing

I actually like the size of my boobs, I'm a 34C, down from a 38D.  I've lost 57 pounds in the last 10 months.  The only thing I would change, if I could, would be to make them perkier... they seem kind of deflated.  Hopefully time, exercise, and a healthy diet will fix some of that!
I am 17 and a very small frame and have 38C, still growing , prob should go bra shopping some time soon, need to go higher, sigh, hate it. esecully since i am a runner.

oh Kylie87...I'm so sorry you feel that way about yourself! I would love to be your size...I haven't been a 34B size since the 6th grade!  I'm now a 36DD, which I really dislike.  I was a 34C for about 6 years and was loving it there...so now I'm hoping to go down to a 34D.

But anyway back to the question....I must be truthful, I didn't do the measurements, but can tell you that I wear padded bras.  I used to wear the ones with now padding in them, but then the nipples would show through, and I didn't like the comments I got from the guys.  So I were the ones that are slightly padded, not push-up ones, but ones that give me some structure, and some support to keep them from sagging from the weight....

With that said....what do you girls think about underwires as well as the padding?

Actually one of the reasons I wanted to lose weight was cause I hated having big boobs...a lot of people think I'm crazy for that, but my grandma is having back problems now because she has a very large chest, and I wanted to stay away from that!

I went from a...oh goodness I kinda forgot...36C I think to a 32 (sometimes a 34) A, which I am happy with (believe it or not)!  However, since I don't have much there anymore, I do buy padded push-up bras so there's a little something...

I don't really have anything to do measurements though, sorry!

livingall: I won't buy a bra unless it has both!!

and now you know! =P
I have worn slightly padded bras since I was 12, because of the nipple issue. I didn't like getting teased. I inherited nipples that look cold even when they are not (TMI!). I simply cannot wear unpadded bras (much less go braless) - it's inappropriate looking. People stare and gape. Ack. When I exercise, I always wear a loose tee-shirt for this reason too, because exercise bras don't have any padding.

But it's not a lot of padding. Just a hint. I don't need any extra, in fact, I hate - HATE those Victoria Secret bras that have the extra paddings - make me look totally ridiculous!!

I'm currently a 32C, and I'm short. Like Kylie, I have sometimes wanted to squash them down... for the sake of certain fashions, like shirts that button down the front. But then a guy I used to date told me to stop doing that, I'm "sweater meat" and should always wear body-skimming sweaters and appreciate my curves. So I do!!!

Underwire: I vote yes! Underwire is a must for any woman over a certain age, particularly if she's had children and breastfed. It's also good because it keeps your breasts from sagging further over the years! But underwire is one of those things that you either know you need, or you don't need. You try on underwire and if it makes a difference, then you need it!
P.s most 17 year old girls DON'T need underwire! Appreciate it while you can. :-)
oh man i work with bras all day >_< lol.

it's kinda good though because now i know where to get bras that are sorta thick so i don't get the nipple thing either. i really don't need anymore attention drawn to my chest as it is (i have a 38D).

gah, i remember when i first started out i had a 32B. I'm hoping to get back down to something like that once I lose weight.

mine make me slouch and they hurt my back. i think theyre pretty saggy too, considering i'm only 20 :/

just goes to prove that majority of us aren't happy with what we've got.  If you are larger chested you wish they were smaller if you are small/flatter chested you wish they were bigger.....

I don't have a tape measure handy but my bras have padding and gel filled thingys in so probably about 50% padding!!

I'm a 34B and I won't wear a bra without padding and without underwire. The underwire just gives it a better shape, and my boobs are small. I mean small B. And I'm not a small woman so, I do it to even out my body.
I'm a 32A, and I just buy a push-up bra. Mostly tho I wear a spagetti strap sports bra that squishes them down because I don't want people staring at my boobs. :/ No offense to those of you on the bigger side, because I'm sure the guys love it, but I'm just not that interested in attracting the opposite sex at the moment.
I don't wear padded bras, but I should wear underwire.  My boobs are huge and I hate em, I am 38DD.  I don't like underwire because they are uncomfortable, and you can't just throw them into the washer, I am way too lazy to wash my bras by hand.

Okay, I am way too lazy for a lot of things, like to wear make up for instance.  I am just not into the "girlie" type of stuff.  I have never cared.  I sure hope I am having a son, I don't think I would be a good mother to a daughter, lol!
I'm a 34 B but I buy A's and B's.  I've got small boobs, but they're sometimes squished a little too tight in an A and sometimes given a little too much room in a B.  I buy them very lightly padded, no push-up bras.  I don't want flimsy little fabric bras so I do get the padded cups, but it's no different than the inserts in some of the support tanks for teens.  I ripped the padding out of one once and it was about 1/16th of an inch thick.
I love my size, 34 C, but after having two kids I definitely need the underwire bras. They are usually padded slightly too for the nipple issues lol

so I think this system is kind of flawed, seeing as a girls measurements will change based on her body type and size, and what your actually looking to find is the percentage of just her boobs that is padding.

Wouldn't it make sense to just measure like your finding your bra size with your most commonly worn bra on(which presumingly is padded, as theres no point to this if it is not.) and find the difference between under bust and around bust measurement with the bra on, then the same difference without your bra on, and then take the difference between the two independent results and divide it by the result you got with the padded bra on, giving you the percentage of your boobage thats uh... smoke and mirrors, gel and tissue? lol ;P

I know this forms dead but I'm new and was just browsing, figured someone might wanna know some part of that, lol.

plus I'm also very interested by the topic.. it'd make me feel less like a faker if i knew a lot more people did it too. =D

I wear padded bras (didn't do the measurements, sorry. :() I always have. My nipples are too perky for an unpadded one. My mom and sister use to call me Kim Possible if you've seen the cartoon you'll know what I mean and why I wear padded bras! LMAO. (TMI, I know.)

The biggest I've ever been is a 38 C which came when I gained about 50 pounds. I have no idea what size I am now, but I know  those bras are getting loose now since I've lost some weight. The lowest I've ever been is 34-36 B. I imagine I will be that size once I reach my goal. I wish I had money for some permenant padding (heh heh) but even if I did I would probably be too nervous about something going wrong. So I'll just be content with what my mama gave me! :P

HERE, HERE PADDED BRAS WITH THE UNDERWIRE!

I used to wear ZERO padding, I thought it was cheating.  Then a friend pointed out to me the embarrasment of the nipple show.  I had NO idea.  I now wear lightly padded bras.

I'm currently a 32B (according to measurements, but I haven't purchesed bras in that size yet, I'm still wearing my older 34B and 32D bras).  In that past, I think I got up to a 34D.

Now that I'm getting older I need the padding for both support and lift, while when I was younger, I didn't need it as much.

No padding here. Just underwire. However, if I wear a shirt or I'm in a situation where ummm, nipplage is an issue, I have these little cling-on nipple covers. They're great for working out since you're bouncier and rubbing and everything. They're re-usable and you can clean them by wiping them off with a little rubbing alcohol every now and then.

I have 0%. I'm 39 and a 36 DD. I don't hate my chest, but sometimes I don't like it much. I can't run with them. And it's really hard to wear a t-shirt. It doesn't seem to matter what type of top I wear I always look like I'm trying to "show" them off. While my husband loves them and wants me to show them off, I don't think other women appreciate the fact that my boobs always seem to be "there". I have experimented with many many bras. I don't ever get the right one. I HATE under wire, but have to wear it. I'm always getting poked and prodded. I buy my bras at VS but never can get the real pretty ones. If they have my size it's always the plain jane one.
