Any Pagans out there?

Quote  |  Reply
There are a number of Christian chats out there but I can't find any of my sisters and brothers in faith! I would love to hear how all you heathens out there perhaps integrate your faith with your healthy lifestyle.

I'm a follower of the older Celtic faiths. I really like how this faith deals with the balance in all aspects of life eg; human and nature, body and soul, man and woman, God and Goddess. Looking at life this way really helps me deal with the day to day when I realize that even if I have a really bad day I will eventually have a great day to make up for it. Just my thoughts:)

I would love to here your take on life and all its Mysteries.

thanx jules :)

i'm here v8! i think we all went off to sit in the woods after being inspired by gypsierose. i love love love the woods! i can never decide whether i prefer the woods to the beach though. i'm a huge beach fan too. i guess it depends on the mood i'm in.

you know, i think cc should register treehugging as an activity! i wonder how many calories it burns per hour... lol i think you could really break into a sweat running through the woods and giving out some love to all of our woody friends. hehe
hahaha bigger trees would probably burn more calories! i like that idea!
well this is fabulous.. merry meet all:)  Im a wiccan, eclectic i suppose, of 15yrs now and quite happy to see some pagans on this site, i thought i was the only one, hah.  Ive found that I feel closer to the goddess during my weight loss, i spend more time doing yoga, being aware of myself, how i feel, and how my environment effects me.  any florida wiccans here? Im totally going to the festival in Ocala this Samhain (i'll actually be able to fire dance in a skirt i bought a while ago thats too small)
Where is everyone? Let not let the thread go. Welcome inacacoon. Congrat on the weight loss and getting into your new skirt.

Yea, I side tracked everyone into the woods. I can't wait for fall so I can enjoy sitting out in the evening. Have good eveing all. *)

oooh yes, there is nothing more blissful than sitting in the woods in autumn! soo beautiful.

inacacoon, you mean they actually organise fire dances in florida?? you're so lucky, i live in europe and people would get VERY alarmed if they saw people dancing around a fire. i think the pagan movement is a lot bigger in the states than in europe.

anyway, totally off topic but has anyone read any good books lately? i finished my book and now i need another one! i'm a real bookworm :P. i love reading out of doors, it's so peaceful.

I love to read too but have been so busy haven't had time to really enjoy one. I'll have to find one to read before bed to relax. Atleast that way I'll get to read something I enjoy.  Right now I'm in the middle of a foundation of Math book for school to get caught up on some formulas that I haven't used in awhile.  OH what fun.lol.

I got my motorcycle certification the past weekend - so watch out all I'm on the road..  My new necklace came in the mail. It's silver with a women (goddness ) on the cresent moon, about the size of a silver dollar really pretty . I have a collection of jewery with the moon.

Have a great day.
Hi all, Soooo hot here! Where is everyone?  Keep our thread alive. Lets discuss something and get to know each other. Someone pick something we can talk about. Your pets, school, work, family, whatever. How about this, Our favorite memories of childhood.

I remember looking down the hall way from my bed and seeing our  christmas tree with the pretty blue lights.

My dad taking me to the circus  when I was 6, when my mom was in the hospital for a long time.  ( I didn't know at the time that they didn't think she was going to live, but she recovered.)

Running through the woods playing all day. Must be why I'm so hooked on the woods.   Have a great day all *)
hey all! i've always had an interest in paganism, was just wondering how you all started to follow it? Was it in your families already or did you just decide to believe somethin different?
I was raised catholic but never could make any sense of it. It just didn't make sense to me. I was baptist for awhile and they were very judgemental and wasn't working for me. I kinda started out by going outside in out field by the woods for peace and quiet, we had 6 people living in our house. It just seem to naturally progress into nature and being at one with my surroundings. I believe there is a stronger force and that you can work with that force.  My immedate families knows but extended family doesn't they would freak out and think I was some kind of devil worshiper which is not the case.

Where is everyone ? I can't keep this thread active by myself.
You know how Pagans are, gypsierose. They're not big on structure. ;-)
Blackthorne, I know that very well, I refuse to commit to any thing since I went into the army back in 1976, and got married in 1976 . lol .I can't even commit to a gym membership because of the responsiblity.  I am a flowing spirit, a dreamer, but I miss my friends.   Write a note all , or I will have to add you all to my friends list and bother you daily (;-P)  )*magic dust sprinkles****(*  we dont' want to fade away  .  I'm waiting (tapping foot) .
That's a good idea. Harass every day... sounds like fun!
soph - i grew up in a christian protestant household, was christened and even had a confirmation when i was 14. however, i never really believed in a christian god. i always thought the bible was some silly fairytale book written by a bunch of old sexist, chauvinistic men to keep the population under control. however, i have always been a nature lover and feel that if anything, we should worship the incredibly beautiful, complex power that gives us and sustains life. i know that the "holy father" didn't create me from one of adam's ribs. it was Mother Nature who gave me life and the honour to spend it on this magnificent planet.

i believe in tolerance, love, respect and in a deep bond between all living things. i believe that there is no black or white, good or evil, male or female but that there is a balance in all things. i believe that all living beings on this planet are equally important and deserve the same amount of respect. i do NOT believe that human beings were made to dominate all other creatures. i think that is an incredibly arrogant, narrow-minded belief. i do NOT believe that males are worth more than females either.

as far as i know, no common religion stands for all these things. that is why i am pagan :)
longliv, you've summed it up so well!! i feel the same way, and i was raised catholic. the best part of being pagan? no more catholic guilt!!

ahhh freedom!
good answer! Yeah i was christened at birth and for years could never really 'believe' there was a god, but have always loved nature and the outdoors and surely thats what people should be thankful for!
I love this thread! I read all the posts and everyone here is so good spirited!

I am not a pegan (but the more I read about the belifes the more it applies to me). I cant really say that what I belive in has a title. I belive that Nature is what nurtures us, I belive that there is no 'higher diety' above us, I belive that all energy is connected (As Albert Einstine (sp) said "Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transferd from one form into another"), and I belive that we should give the things that help us grow and make us healthy our respect (earth, the sun, the air, the moon, our families ect.) I do not belive in worship as well. To me, worship is putting something high above you giving it complete control of your doings and thoughts. I belive that giving respect is the most appropiate thing to do. Give respect to the earth, give thanks to the sun (cant really respect it if its so far away...) and respect people as a whole.

That is what I belive in. That is my 'religion'.

Thoughts? Would you lable it Pegan? Wican? Bhuddist? Crazy?

I dunno. My family is religious but in a sence where we respect everyones religion. I try and tell them what I belive in but I cant think of a group that it falls in.

Oh well. :)

Oh and an random side note, The feeling that I got off of reading all your posts was a warm autum day, with apples and lots of crunchy leaves on the ground, and trees all around... oh and wine and corn as well. I have no idea why but this was going through my mind as I was reading it all. Gave me a happy warm mushy feeling. And really made me want to dive out of my cube and run in the forest.
Bump Bitty Bump Bump.

Oh By the by.. Some one earlier posted on herbs that did great things... for sex? Totally currious. :) Please inform. :):)
Pagan enough, raz! LOL...
Really?? I'm Pegan? I never thought of it that way...

...

Serriously??

Cool.
Wow , I notice there are alot of us that was raised catholic. I wonder what the pope would think.

Happy Merry Mead to all. Hey blackthorne , how many cals in your mead?

Welcome Raz.    I know what you mean about a label , it's kind of like this is what I'm comfortable believing don't really have a name for it.
