Many pages flash then redirect to a Hyatt advertisement
My food log, activity log, analysis, and many pages of the forum would show the content for about a second, then automatically redirect to a Hyatt advertisement. If i click back, it goes back for a second and then redirects to the advertisement right away.
anyone else having this problem?
Okay! it stopped doing that now.
Just a thought for the future: That used to happen to me. I tried to read the newspaper online like I always have and I would get redirected to a spyware page....ya' know, "you could be at risk for spyware..download this detector...blah blah blah"
I went to a credible source and searched the name of the advertised product and there was an article about how there was an increase in that happening to people. The suggested fix.........run your spyware and adware stuff and if that doesn't work, do a system restore. It worked like a charm for me.
My credible source:
She's got a radio show on all things digital.
The darned Hyatt ad is hijacking my browser window now too... I have to use the 'back' button to make it go away again. Popup windows are annoying enough when they float over the text - this is about enough to make me vow never to set foot in one again.
It's happening to me, too. Just the Hyatt ads - very annoying.
This needs to be reported to the administration. Please use the contact link at the bottom of the page. From the pull down Regarding menu, select Commercial Relationships/Advertising.
Describe where and how the ad appears. If you can do a screen print, include that.
I haven't encountered it so I'm unable to report it.
Please help us clean up this problem!
The Top Flyte Arcade system is also doing it this morning. And it's one that won't go away! I had the devil of a time getting a different screen to load once it took over... I'll report them both. As for a screen shot, there's nothing to show - just the supposedly 'banner' ad at the top of a white screen because nothing else will load after it!
Contact the team and send them a screen shot.
Then delete your cookies and restart your computer.
Apologies for these ad problems - we are working on getting them fixed. In order to help us take care of this problem, if you are able to we'd really appreciate a screenshot of any of these takeover ads.
Hold down CNTL-ALT-PRINT SCRN on a PC to make a screenshot which you can then paste into Microsoft Word with Edit->Paste. If you could send these to me at erik@calorie-count.com it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and apologies once again for the difficulties!
It looks like the Hyatt ad is behaving itself now... it's popped up in the ad box a few times today and stayed put where it was supposed to.
I run Linux with Firefox, and the CTRL-ALT-PRT SRC doesn't work for me.
It is the Hyatt add that is doing it to me as well though. Yesterday morning it popped up every time I tried to read the fitness forum, and then it went away and didn't bother me again until this morning. Now it's happening again so I can't read the fitness forum.
