McCain is now retracting Palin's "gaffe" at a Philadelphia cheesesteak stand. I'm getting more and more worried. Let her off the leash, McCain. We might find out how much she actually doesn't agree with you!
I've seen 10+ ridiculously long threads that are devoted to Palin
This one isn't ridiculously long yet, but it is working on it. Maybe we can place bets on how many pages it will go?

@ 47 - Ease off the huff n puff. It's hardly some conspiracy of mine to twist people's words for my own satisfaction. I have a life, I don't need non existent e-victories to feel good about myself. Read the responses and you can see that I'm not the only one who took the OP to mean that Palin the person is pathetic.
With most honest and heartfelt regard,
Your Friendly Neighborhood Devil's Advocate.
Pissing people off since I've learned how to type.
Poor you. Poor them. No. Selective reading is a choice that you make to enable your partisan blinder view. Views that are based on nothing but false accusations on your part.
You can lead a person to reason, but you can't make them comprehend it.

Thank you for my the best quote I've seen in a very long while.
How'd you split that quote in the same post? I've seen you do that before, sometimes with different peoples' quotes.
I edit a lot during posting in the mid afternoon. LOTS! My focus is wide spread because I am multi-taskin'!
Work, Baby, School, and ( incoming calls) XD This isn't a course in college so the edit button remains. It's nice because you can always go back and correct x.
You should focus on your blinder though because that's the issue. I'm a great distraction from the real issue though. =-D Selective reading in order to twist comments to alternative meanings...For the sole purpose of it giving you something to harp on.. is a partisan way of life.

57: The point is there are absolutely no republicans that can honestly say she is the most qualified republican in the party to step in should McCain pass in office (a very real possibility). This makes his selection of her pure tokenism, IMO, and inherantly offensive.
And the unfortunate result of Cheney's tenure is that, if not carefully watched, the VP can be a lot more potent in making policy than has been traditionally believed. Which is why so much attention is being paid, by me at least.
While I agree that becoming governor is an important accomplishment, and am in no way deriding the office of Alaska's governor, can any honestly say, especially after seeing her in the sparse interviews she has given, she is remotely qualified for the office of POTUS? "We can see Russia"...? come on.
...and I'll take .5% differential - else it would be a fairly boring horse race. :)
Oh, make no mistake about it. That gal is in no way shape or form ready to be president. If she were heading that ticket, there's no way in hell she'd get anything outside the bible belt, and even that would be questionable.
I don't think anyone could effectively argue otherwise other than to close their eyes, plug their ears and shout "You're wrong, I'm not listening, la-la-la" over an over again.
But her selection as has been noted by more than just myself, is that she was chosen to get the SoCons to the polls, whom McCain could never sway and without whom he could never get elected.
Do you honestly beleive someone of Palin's experience will have any "potency" (why am I picturing that in a dirty way?...)

I r 1337 HTML h4X0r
Just go to the html tab, look for where you want to open up a post and type the following:
</blockquote><br><blockquote&g t;
there's a lot more you can do, but that'll cover your specific request.

I don't think anyone sees her as being a potent vice president. What worries people is that she'd be a shill should she become president.
::giggle at dirty, me too::
You are certainly correct that no one on this thread has done what Palin has, but that's not the point. We expect the best to lead us. We shouldn't compare them to ourselves. We should compare them to the Gold Standard Of Leadership.....
and that Gold Standard is....
Regis Philbin.
:)
That gal's never going to see the inside of the oval office...
(still sounds dirty...)
this seems like an appropriate place to put a totally irrelevant topic about whether or not Palin's lipliner is a tattoo
look at the slides - vote on it - distract yourself for another 5 minutes

No I doubt she would have any real impact as VP. But I do think she could be very easy to manipulate if she found herself in the oval office.

I... ... I can't... Regis?.. How could you?..
My walls are crashing down around me, my life falls into despair, my e-love... is lost.
You are dead to me ;)
I find it humorous that you can't comprehend the difference between this, that, and an actual person.
That's pathetic.
This is Pathetic.
Sarah Palin is _____.
I'm curious as to when Sarah Palin became a this or that?
Did anyone see yesterday's McCain/Palin interview with Couric? Couric question Palin on her Pakistan comment and McCain answer for her and THEN allows Palin to reply.
COURIC: Is that something you shouldn't say out loud, Sen. McCain? At this point, Palin turns her direction from Katie to McCain and watches as he replies.
McCAIN: Of course not. But, look, I understand this day and age of "gotcha" journalism. Is that a pizza place? In a conversation with someone who you didn't hear … the question very well, you don't know the context of the conversation, grab a phrase. Gov. Palin and I agree that you don't announce that you're going to attack another country …
COURIC [turning to Palin]: Are you sorry you said it...
McCAIN: … and the fact …
Couric: Governor?
McCAIN: Wait a minute. Before you say, "is she sorry she said it," this was a "gotcha" sound bite that, look ...[No, you wait a minute, Senator. Youre referring to your VP nominee in third person, ignoring that she's sitting here with us capable of answering a question I just asked her and providing a reply for her to agree with.]
COURIC: It wasn't a "gotcha." She was talking to a voter.[...a little late for that]
McCAIN: No, she was in a conversation with a group of people and talking back and forth. And … I'll let Gov. Palin speak for herself.
PALIN: Well, it … in fact, you're [McCain] absolutely right on ... "VIDEO
(edited to add link)
Since she entered politics would be my guess.
72 is not old... I don't want to believe any of my parents will be kicking the bucket any time soon.
Dude... but Regis can't even win the "Best Regis Impersonation" and that's been going on for years.
Off Topic:
Iggy, I need your centrist input: is this bail-out any where close to a good idea?
Am still having trouble understanding what's really going on, and younts is too biased to be of any help...
