Just a little complaint about losing weight... I feel like my pants are always either too tight or falling down! I lose weight, my pants fall down, and buy a smaller size that is slightly too tight. And belts are just so uncomfortable over my stomach when I sit down!
I can't wait to reach my goal weight (a year from now :) so I can keep to one size of pants!
What are you looking forward to?
LOL! The jeans I'm wearing right now can be easily pulled down without unbuttoning or unzipping them. I think they're being held up by my thighs pressing against each other. I need to go cruise the Goodwill or Ebay for some smaller ones.
I'm looking forward to actually being able to wear a belt and not look like two links of bratwurst. Why do all my comparisons involve food?
I just want my knees, hips and ankles to stop hurting so much. I can deal with pants falling down if the pain will go away or at least lessen.
Thank you for the idea of goodwill. I love shopping but I didn't want to spend all that money for clothes if I'm only going to wear them for a short time (hopeful).
I'm having the same trouble. I've lost 105 lbs. since March and can't seem to find pants that actually fit. I haunt the thrift stores in the area, but it seems all the guys around here wear khaki! Need some black, navy, or any other color!
Teacherdan, give Ebay a try. There are lots of women dumping the ex's clothes that he left behind. Good bargains! I've been on there picking up the clothes from women who have lost more weight than I.
Hi Srey, i feel ya about the pain. Be encouraged, it does get better as more & more pounds are shed. Keep with the healthy eating & exercise, soon the pain will be a thing of the past. This too shall come to pass
I'm big in the butt & thighs so I very rarely wear pants, skirts & dress hide stuff better IMO. Anyway I wore my one pair of pants today and I spent the entire day pulling them up. It was potentially embarrassing but also great! I've lost 82 lbs so far and aside from a few bras this was the first item of clothing that actually really shows the loss. I liked seeing some loss of waist, butt & hips much more then boobs.
I just got four pairs of pants back from the tailor; he pulled the tape tight and decided on a 50" waist --they were 56" pants--and when I got them home they're falling off of me. I lost an inch this week. I'm down to a 49" waist.
I guess it's suspenders and safety pins again
I am almost to the point that I can give all of my biggest sized clothing to a thrift store, to hopefully help someone else :)
broaster, is it worth it getting clothes tailored? I would think it would be a little pricey? I've been thinking about sewing a few of my favorite shirts a little smaller myself, but am not that experienced.
Ready, sorry I didn't see this sooner.
I found a tailor who charges $12 a pair of pants; that's about 1/3 the cost of a new pair (I buy Haband mostly), and the ones I had taken in were in great shape and now look and fit terrific.
I have a little skill with a needle and thread and took in my work pants by pleating the back of them--it looks fine from the front, not so much from the back--so I'm getting my money's worth out of them.
I would say shop around and see if you can find a decently priced tailor at your local dry cleaner. Take in a clothes you're not overly attached to for a trial run. It may work out for you as well.
YAY!!!! Congrats on the 18's! That's awesome! :)
Woohoo! I just donated my first set of too big clothes! Decided that getting rid of them would give me an extra incentive to keep what I've lost so far off!
Way to go! If you can afford to do it, it's a great idea; not too many big clothes in the thrift stores around me.
I'm not quite ready to get rid of a lot of clothes, but I did try on some that had been too tight and find that they fit, perhaps a little tight, but I could wear them. It means that I won't have to buy a lot of new clothes for another few pounds. Yeah!
