Anyone know much about parboiled rice? what does it mean? am i losing nutrients by using it instead of the slow-cooking rice?

Parboiled rice has been pre-cooked.  If it's regular long-grain rice, there aren't all that many nutrients in it to start with so I don't think you're losing much.  :-)   But if you wanted to upgrade a little..... white basmati rice takes about 10 minutes to cook, has a superior flavour and is much less chalky and starchy than long-grain.  Brown basmati rice takes 25 minutes to cook and would add fibre and B vitamins to your diet.
