why do parents do this??

Ok every time im like "i think i might not go running today" or "i feel to tired for the gym".

My parents look wierd at me like well you SHOULD be going to the gym. They are always saying you should go. at least get 30 mins in........

......its like they are really pushing me too go.....its basicly like they are saying your fat and you need to go to lose some weight. eurgh!?

Haha .. alone time .. that reminds me of my childhood, on sunday my parents always used to send me and my brothers to sunday school, I never really understood this because we are not a religeous familly at all .. not until a few year later that I realised that parents need some "alone time" away from their children so they can .. well you know .... :)..(not thinking about it ... not thinking about it)

Use whatever avater you want girl :)... avaters are not just things to show what mood you are in ... they can be anything . as long as you give good sound advice and NOT CRITISISE people for petty things like what picture they have in their avatar then you will be taken serously. I wonder if I will get critisised because I dont have an avatar .... ;)... critises away whoever you may be (I think you know who I am chating about) :)... but first read any of my posts I make and base your critisism on that ....

i'm the "heavy" one in my family too. my mom and dad are both extremely fit for being almost fifty years old. my sister used to be anorexic, though she isnt anymore, of course she's incredibly food concious and makes sure she goes to the gym everyday. i'm different from them in the sense that i'd rather sit down and read a book instead of running 5 miles. i'm not overweight or anything (5'5", 123 lbs) but i acknowledge the fact i need to lose some. and i am trying now. but my parents constantly give me **** for the fact that i don't lose weight as fast as them or my sister. sure, i'm doing different things, but that's for me, not for them. they keep telling me that i'm doing it all wrong and it's just discouraging :l

ignore them. they seem to think its their job to rescue all the skinny young girls from their attention-seeking ways.

you're obviously hot, if thats your pic, and sometimes i think they are jealous and/or bitter, but thankfully, i am not in their heads, and truthfully have no clue.

best analogy i can think of is the movie mean girls. its kinda like regina and her minions. girl gangs. its pretty high school imo. you can always just block the annoying people if you want.

kadarka: These were rather tame non-bitchy comments.  I don't want to speak for pg, but I don't think it was a dig, more like an obvious observation.  And I really don't see how you thought she was telling you to grow up, that really isn't a normal conclusion based on what was posted. Obviously, you do have issues misunderstanding people and coming to false conclusions and should consider that to be a factor in the problem at hand.

As for avatars, If you or pg have any knowledge of discussion boards and forums then you will realise that people put all sorts of things that interest them as their avatar, its their personal choice, not the choice of somebody who thinks they know what's better .. just because one person doesn't like it doesn't mean its wrong .. just keep your mouths shut about such trivial matters and address the contents of the discussion :)..

And as for being new to forums I have been using many forums for a very long time, and I know exactly what people mean by what tone they express themselves in their messages, as long as they are coherant in their comments.

Any more comments about me personally I will be very glad to address if you send me a private message  and outline the exact grievences you have with me :)..

 I was saying, really??  that is the best response you have ever seen??  someone getting overly defensive over a general comment on how people may interpret an image is impressive to you?  The rest of my comment wasn't directed at you.

and PG's comment on how the OP may be interpreting her parent's remarks incorrectly was directly related to this thread.

It was meant as a light hearted comment to lighten the tone of the thread as I think you really already know if you use forums alot, just as many comments are made in jest in forums.

I have no problem with any comments that pg made concerning the original question or subsequent answers, but when you are blatantly offensive to somebody without provocation thats a different matter .. I think you will agree.

If pg had an issue with the avatar or found it offensive then she should have messaged salamander123 privately ... don't you think .. at least that's what I would have done ... but I guess different people have different values about how things should be done.

Good thing you know so much Kev.  If you bothered to have a look around, you'd find a lot of young women on here with eating disorders, which I'm assuming is the reason pg has a problem with that avatar.  And to be honest, I think you're the most offensive poster on here right now.
