I have heard of some folks having some interesting results taking Mona Vie. Ever heard of it? It's basically 100% organic fruit juice from 19 different fruits with the highest natural antioxidant content of anything out there. I suggest it simply because 4 oz of it a day helped me with my seizures. I tell everyone I can about it because I want everyone to feel as good as it has made me feel.
Blessings!!

Here's a testimonial I found:

I think you should really talk to your doctor. Since I don't know which proteins suppress your meds and which are okay, I can't suggest anything. Maybe if you give me a better idea of which ones you need to stay away from, I (or someone else from the boards) might be able to help.
Amy--Before you go out and endorse something claiming that it cures all ills, you need to do your research. I just went to the Mona Vie site and am extremely disturbed by it. I don't dispute that organic fruit juice with high levels of antioxidants can provide some health benefits, but that website claims that Mona Vie can cure all sorts of diseases and disorders. Autism for example. There is absolutely NO evidence that anything cures Autism, let alone a juice drink. Indicating that something cures illnesses that it simply does not cure not only wrong, it's mean. Those claims give people with those illnesses false hope and they feel devastated when the "cure" doesn't work.
I'm not an expert on Parkinsons. I know that my grandfather has it and his wonderful doctors have given him the best drugs they can. Never did they suggest that he toss aways the medications and get a drink of fruit juice, even a highly concentrated one with tons of antioxidants. Why? Because it doesn't work.
It was simply a suggestion. It doesn't cure anything, and it says so on the website. I would never recommend something I didn't know anything about. I've done plenty of research and seen results first hand for the last 2 1/2 years, in my own life and from hundreds of folks with many different illnesses. It can't hurt you...it's fruit, and it's good for you. And good nutrition never hurt anybody. So aocean, before you bash something, you should do your own research so you understand what you are bashing. Thanks. And my apologies to the original poster, this was never meant to become a debate and this is the end of it. aocean if you want to respond to me further please simply email me. Blessings to you tim37922. You are in my prayers today.
Sincerely, Amy

I just checked on the MonaVie stuff and it seems to be a pyramid scheme (ie, participants pay to become part of the company. They pay for products to sell. They're expected to "recruit" others like them. The few at the top make a great deal of money from the many at the bottom.)
Yeah, the first link when you Google MonaVie is their site, but after that there is a bunch of "Is MonaVie a scam?" stuff, which is quite disconcerting. Also, any fruit juice that says it can cure Parkinson's, M.S., or Autism is just **** up. They are no better than the Takara Food Pad infomercials in my opinion.
Sorry to have derailed your thread tim37922, but I get pissed when I see companies making a buck by taking in people. Good luck finding a good diet.
Thanks for everybody's responses and prayers.
I asked my doc about Mona Vie. He has me on Azilect, an MAO-B inhibitor which I understand can cause severe side effects when taken with antioxidents. MAO-B inhibitors have warnings when taken with aged cheeses and meats like pepperoni, etc. As you can see, my menu choices are already shortlisted.
I can eat a lean steak, a piece of salmon or drink too much milk and it turns my meds off. If I plan ahead and not eat a steak out in a restaurant, I'll weigh the desire versus the consequences. I like an occasional lean steak.
I was looking for protein lean meal suggestions without going vegetarian. I'm bored of eating the same old things. The doc is good at telling me what I can't eat, not so much what I can eat.
Thanks for the juice suggestion. Thanks to all.
I dont know where you saw that information about the Mona Vie site advising that it cures Parkinsons, but everything I have learned and have been advised of is the complete opposite of what you are saying they said. Mona Vie does not advise the juice cures anything but does provide the body with vitamins and minerals the body can use to make itself healthier thus reducing symptoms of various ailments. Please let me know where you found such info because I am sure its some kind of misinterpretation
