Party Ideas...

Quote  |  Reply

I'm having a birthday party, and I need ideas on what to make. Thy don't need to be low-cal. Stuff that would feed about 30 people, and thats not too exopensive or time consuming. We don't want hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, ham, or the usual barbeque type stuff.

Ideas for apetizers would be great also!

Appetizers: mini quiche if you don't mind using prepackaged goods...salads [pasta, green, fruit] could be good appetizers or sides

spaghetti is the easiest meal to feed a lot of people.

Do you want to prepare this food?  Or buy it and only do a little prep work?  That can make a huge difference in our responses!  :)

cherry tomatoes halved ...

scoop out insides ....

fill with cream cheese .....

yummy!

If you have a punch bowl fill it full of greens. Your list of add too's is endless- have small bowls of them next to it. - mandrain oranges, dried cherries, pecans, bacon bits, any fresh fruit or veggies, assorted dressings ect.

A crockpot fondue of cheese sauce and assorted dippers of veggies and chips.

It doesn't matter either way to me, as long as it doesn't take me hours in the kitchen.

Thanks for your responses guys! I have a few more appetizers, now I'm just thinking about the main course. Any more ideas?  Laughing

lasagna or a pasta dish?  You can make them the night before and just bake them when you're ready.    You could make turkey!  Who says it has to be thanksgiving?     Lamb would be nice, but spendy I think.

How about homemade healthy pizza's?   Forget meat and cheese!  Go for veggie or chicken pizza's.    Stuffed mushrooms, stuffed tomatoes,   stuffed bell peppers (usually rice and ground beef).

Meat loafs, sweet and sour meatballs?  That could fun!   I've seen those at a wedding before!   Nice sized meatballs with the sweet and sour sauce with chunks of onion, green pepper, and pineapple served with rice.

Chili (any kind)

Savory waffles   ............................... ok now I'm making myself hungry!  ha ha
