Paul McKenna - Really works - Please Read.

Has anyone been watching Paul McKenna's - I can make you thin on the TV?

I watched an episode about making your food craving disappear and I decided to humour his self hypnosis tecnique as no-one was in my house.

Ok I felt like a bit of an ass "feeding myself" from this imaginary plate but by the time he had finished I actually felt quite sick at the thought of eating chocolate. I put the lid back on the Quality Street tin (even though my favourite orange creams and strawberry creams were in plain sight) and put the tin back into the kitchen.

Over the next few days the thought of eating chocolate turned my stomach completely. - To let you know how strange this is , I was usually in the habit of eating between 4-6 bars of chocolate a day while sat in the office at work -  I gained a small promotion in work about a week later and Greg( My colleague) gave me a bar of Galaxy to congradulate me. As not to appear rude, I opened it and ate a square of it and, to my suprise, nothing pecial happened.  I didn't feel any different to how I had felt prior to eating it.  I wasn't feeling sick as I imagined that I would but also , I didn't particularly enjoy it. I didn't get my chocolatey high that I used to, I didnt gain any pleasure from eating it. It was just simply there.

Paul had accomplished what he said he would. He had turned my craving food into just another food. One that I could take or leave at my choice. I'm glad that I had that square of chocolate to be honest , I know it sounds daft but in a weird kind of way its almost liberating. To think back on how dependant I was on chocolate to help my mood, cure my boredom or help me snack away nerves, its quite a scary difference.

Its been about 3 and a half weeks since that square of chocolate and I'm just over a half stone lighter.  Thanks Paul.Laughing

If anyone wants to know this technique I can repost the full details and step by step technique. Just Give me a shout out , Regards  xxxxxx

My last two post have involved the genius of paul mckenna! great minds. His book was the only thing that managed to stop me binge eating. I recommend it to everyone!

Really? Wow! I wonder is that available to watch online somewhere, if not can you post the steps? My craving foods are cereal and chocolate if I could avoid them altogether I'd be able take over the world

My husband and I are really addicted to cakes..... Could you post it step by step or send the link?
This would be a miracle for us!

Hey, I think that this is the right link however due to my works internet policy I can't get on to double check.

Basically he has you close your eyes and push your middle finger and thumb together tightly on your left hand.

Now think of a food that you can invision eating which made you feel quite ill or just one that  you really cannot stand. Vividly imagine how it looks on a plate infront of you, How does it smell? What is the texture like? How do you feel about eating it ?

When you can vividly picture it, use your right hand to "feed yourself " some of it. How does it taste in your mouth? How does it smell? disgusting right? Keep going eat some more. Now imagine that there is some hair from the barber shop floor in amongst it as well. Theres hair in your mouth mixed in with what you were eating. You can feel it in your teeth and on the roof of your mouth, getting tangled as you chew.  How does it taste now? How do you feel ? Feel ill ? (I certainly did)

This is the point where Paul asks you to imagine your craving food(s) mixed in with it as well. Vividly imagine how it tastes, feels , smells and how you feel. Keep "eating" until you feel you can go no longer and you feel quite disgusted.

Stop pushing your thumb and middle finger together on your left hand. See then if you feel like your craving food - I know I didnt.

This worked with me doing it along to the TV listening to Paul saying how disgusting it was while I pictured it. If you don't feel it effective by trying yourself theres bound to be a link if the one I posted doesnt work.

Originally this may be harder to put you off your craving than myself - Paul suggests that when you do have a craving after this (if you do - I havent) you should push your thumb and middle finger together on your left hand and it will trigger something in your brain that will make you remember the ill feeling and the flavours, senses and smells you vividly pictured with the technique and put u off it.

Hope this helps. Regards xSmile

Someone posted a link to one episode on google videos. I watched it, and boy am I glad I did!

I decided to follow the techniques since he explained it so well, and there were results from it. My dream was to stop binging/overeating, eat like a normal person, and stop being so compulsive about food.

I've been following the steps given in his first episode since Tuesday, only time can tell if it'll really work, but thus far I've had no impulse to binge, I've been enjoying things like poptarts without getting worked up and anxious about it, and I'm actually listening (and hearing) my body signals. It's.. fantastic, amazing, and extremely liberating. I feel normal for once. XD

If you have any idea where I can find the other episodes online, or more of his techniques (other then the 4 golden rules he mentioned in his first episode), I'd be extremely grateful. I looke for his book in my library, alas no luck. I also looked for his show on TV, and alas no channels are playing it. :(

His system trained me to go back to normal... eating like a baby, and like my friends do: just when they are hungry.

I wish more people knew about it, because it's really the only way to go.

I agree, I watched all of his programmes and everything he said made perfect sense, especially the stuff about food cravings.
