PB2-- should I order it?

Quote  |  Reply

I've heard so much about PB2, I really want to order it, but you have to order 4 at a time! Undecided I don't know.

Is it worth the money? How much like real peanut butter is it like? I've also tried Better 'n Peanut Butter, and I love it, but Better 'n Peanut Butter is kind of still too many calories for me.

thanks!!

I've never heard of PB2. Is it an alternative to peanut butter? You've got my interest peaked. I miss my pbJ samiches. Where do you get it?

I just got my order of PB2 two weeks ago, and my family agrees that it tastes pretty much like the real thing.  You mix 2tbsp of powder with 1tbsp of water. In recipes, it tastes exactly like real peanut butter to me. It has 54 cal per 2tbsp and 75% less fat than the real thing. That is quite a difference in nutritional stats and what tempted me to try it. If you are unsure about ordering 4 at once, I know that you can buy one or two jars at a time on ebay. However, with seller's shipping costs, it may cost as much as ordering 4 jars from Bell Plantation. They have several recipes on their website as well.

Teach~ you said 'in recipes' it taste like the real thing; how does it taste by itself or on toast? I don't cook/bake much with PB but I use it a lot (not anymore:( ) on toast or sandwiches. I love to find a decent replacement.

OK I could seriously be a salesman for Bell Plantation.  I was skeptical when I ordered PB2 the first time, but I absolutely loved it and have been ordering it for over a year.  It tastes very much like real peanut butter, and is especially worth it since it's only a fraction of the calories.  The only differences I would note between PB2 and regular PB is with regards to consistency and "naturalness."  You have to add water to it, so you can vary the consistency yourself--I tend to like mine a little creamier (runnier) than regular PB, so I can stretch it farther.  The other thing is it tastes a little more natural than regular PB--more like peanuts than processed peanut butter.  I love it though.  You don't have to use it in recipes, it's excellent on its own or in sandwiches.  I have a PB2 and banana or PB2 and jelly sandwich every day.  Sorry I'm so enthusiastic but this stuff has been a lifesaver since I thought I could never have peanut butter again after starting my lower-calorie lifestyle.

Place the order.  It is delicious!

WHY are you giving up on real pb i have it everyday and i have lost so much weight. I would never want to buy fake food at all. If i were you save your time and money and get you some all natural pb and eat it in moderation and trust me you will still lose weight.

Wink

It's not a fake food, it's more natural than real PB because the only ingredients are peanuts, salt, and sugar.  Compare that to the label of a jar of peanut butter.  Can't get more natural than that.

Thanks for the advice. I don't really see PB2 as fake food though. It only has peanuts in it, so it's all natural and healthy too.

I just want to be able to generously slather my bread with PB, and if I did that with regular peanut butter I would use probably around 300 to 400 calories worth of peanut butter, soooo if I can get something that tastes pretty much the same for much less calories, I'd be pretty happy about that. Of course, no matter how low the calories, if it were bad for me health-wise or tasted bad, I wouldn't eat it.

Thats great that its real but still its too expensive i love skippy natural pb and it has 180 cal for two tbs i just have 1 and some times 2 i have measuring spoons and that also helps to keep calories in check i know most pb has at least 200 cal but i know skippy has 180. but its your choice as for me i love pb mmmmmmm i wish i could have some right now. good luck

I just got my order yesterday and have been using it w/ apples.  I really like it.  I'm still trying to get the mixture right because I haven't been using the full 2 tbsp, but I'll get it!  I want to use it in a peanut sauce for chicken, so I'll have to experiment w/ that this weekend maybe.

Anyone have any sauce ideas, let me know!

According to their website, if you don't like it, you can send back 3 unopened jars and they will refund your money.

What's their (PB2's) website address?

http://bellplantation.com/

Some people can actually get it on store shelves in their area.  There is a place on the website to check.

It really IS delicious AND healthy!

They also have recipes on that site.  I am sure they have a peanut sauce recipe.

Just ordered mine yesterday....can't wait for the UPS man to stop by tom!

We shall see!

I ordered mine last week and I am dying for it to come in the mail!

Well I don't know about ordering food in the mail, everything costs a fortune to send to Canada....but this has given me a great idea. Thinning out PB with water! I know they blend well because I make a peanut sauce that calls for water and PB, and it stirs up really nice, and I am always amazed at how much water I have to put in to get it a "sauce" consistency...click!! I bet I could use just 1T PB and add some water and still have it be thick AND cover a whole peice of toast. Or use as a dip for apple. THanks ratinhat for the idea!

You guys totally have me convinced...just ordered my first round of PB2!  Can't wait for it to arrive!

I have been seeing this in the health food isle at my local Hyvee store and have wondered if it were any good. I am going to go buy some tomorrow. Plus I think it is way less then you guys are talking about, maybe $4 a jar. Thanks for the info!
