PB2!? SERIOUSLY!? Experiences, please!
I just stumbled across PB2.
I am so excited that I am ready to whip out my poor-college-student debit card and order it online. But first, I was wondering about anybody's personal experience with PB2?
I am seriously a peanut butter addict. I love it. If I could only have peanut butter on light honey wheat bread with bananas the rest of my life... I'd be just fine with that. But I'm sick of using only one 35 calorie teaspoon... totally unsatisfying... and apparently I could have a whopping 2 tablespoons of this stuff for only 50!
So, any tasters? Is it delicious? What can you do with it? I imagine toast, oatmeal, bananas, etc... anything else?
God I'm a loser for being so excited over this, haha. But, seriously. Peanut butter is a godsend.
I was excited when I heard about it too - and reading these boards, I went ahead and ordered it...and it is pretty good. Not the real deal, but ok... I used it, but I prefer the whipped p. butter for things like bagels. PB2 would be better mixed in with something - so your banana sandwich might cut it, or used in a recipe. I like my PB straight up - so I just make sure I save enough calories for my tablespoon on the morning bagel! It's not as good on toast, but might be great in oatmeal - not just straight on a banana tho. Hope that helps you!

So it's not "eat it right off the spoon after it's been mixed" kind of good? No way to whip the PB2 oneself? This is food for thought... but I am still excited. :)
I've never tried PB2, but I do use Better n'Peanutbutter. The calories are very close. I can buy it locally (Albertsons & Trader Joes), and I LOVE IT. Do not, and I repeat, do not put a spoon in one hand and the jar in the other; at least for me! Oh man, PBnPB/honey on a cinnamon swirl Thomas Bagel. That is heaven.
Well, maybe I better skip the bagel and have a Thomas Nook's and Crannies English muffin (100 calories-the bagel is 260).

Oh my goodness I would love a toasted english muffin with PB right now. Brilliant. Better n'Peanutbutter... is it just a substitute? I'm glad you've mentioned this because I have been on the hunt for weeks now for a low-cal alternative at my local Walmart, with no luck. Silly me, I never thought to look somewhere else (due to budgets)... but if this stuff is as good as you say it is I may try it before PB2! Except, I think our only Albertson's has closed...
I LOVE PB, and I was super excited about PB2 when I first heard about it, and I still am! It isn't the real thing, but it's pretty close to it! I eat it straight up, but I add some sweetner to it first. It has no added sugar, so it needs a little something in my opinion. It's a great option to the real thing, especially for people who could sit and eat half a jar in one sitting! Since you have to mix it with water first you don't have the choice to eat right out of the jar. Plus it is really good for cooking, a lot easier than the real thing. I have put it in oatmeal and it was pretty good. The website also has recipes as well. If you can't tell I'd definitely reccommend it! Plus the company is really nice as well. One time they sent me the wrong thing. I ordered 4 jars and they sent me 2 jars and 2 bottles of their peanut oil. I let them know and they let me keep the oil as a courtesy and sent me the other 2 jars I ordered.

Alright! Good to hear. Two votes for it, one suggestion for another product. I'm on a roll here. :)
So, adding a bit of splenda would probably sweeten it up a bit? Interesting. And if you're as much of a PB nut as I am, and you can eat it straight up... then I'm (almost!) sold! I'm definitely the kind of person who is danger when holding a jar of PB and a spoon... ohhh man.
I'll have to take a look at their recipe suggestions. Thanks!
It was good in the oatmeal cookies I made. As the spread I wasn't impressed. I could barely taste it. I have also tried mixing it with oatmeal and it didn't really add as much flavor as I thought it would. If it was local I would probably buy it, but not worth it when shipping is added.

Good to know as well, thanks for your input :)
I too am a peanut butter addict and when I first joined CC I kept seeing a lot about it (PB2). So, since it sounded so great, I found a store kind of close by that carried it so the shipping wasn't outrageous and I bought two jars. Oh my gosh, I could not stand it! I tried a couple times, but it just tasted like finely powdered sawdust. After unsuccessfully trying to pawn it off to my grandson who also loves peanut butter, I threw it out-both jars!
Either stick to the regular p-nut butter or give it up which I did because I finally figured out that it was sabotaging my diet. I only let myself buy a VERY small jar every six months or so, but I buy roasted unsalted peanuts instead. Takes longer too eat so I don't eat as much and they are good for me AND the squirrels! LOL
I love PB2. It's very creamy and I think it has a very peanutty taste. And I like the fact that I can make as much or a little as I want.
I just don't like the fact that you can only get it online and have to order 4 jars at a time, or have they changed that?
I love it! I can't tell the difference between it and real peanut butter besides a little different texture. My wife also thinks it tastes exactly like real peanut butter. Definitely go for it!
definitely tastes like real thing and a good option to peanut butter. The only reason i stopped buying it is because it was getting too pricey (they sell it at a local health food store for about $7 a jar)

I know PB is so bad for diets, but there is no way I can give it up. ;) Thanks for the input! I'm glad I didn't run off an buy it offline ASAP, although I'm still considering it.

From what I've seen, it's still four jars at a time... that's the only thing that halted me in my tracks! haha

$7 a jar!? Yiiiiikes.
Good to hear another "tastes good" comment though... definitely weighing my options here!
I haven't tried the PB2, but I'll vote for the Better 'n Peanut Butter. It's a bit sweeter than regular peanut butter and a little harder to spread (because it needs refrigerated). But it is tasty :) I found it at Super Target... Here's a store locater http://www.thirdperspective.com/bpb/storeLoca tor.html to see which stores sell it locally... I would suggest trying that first if you can find it locally... Save yourself the shipping & you can buy just one jar in case you don't like it...

That's exactly what I was intending on doing, so thank you for the link! I am just totally into the whole 50 calorie thing. But to save a little money in the mean time I may just try Better n' PB :) Thank!
I eat it all the time and absolutely adore it! I order cases of it off of the internet. not only do I mix it with water but sometimes I just sprinkle it on top of low fat frozen yogurt.
PB2 with chocolate protein powder is awesome. I also use PB2 with 1 tsp. normal peanut butter on my PB&J's- it helps with texture and makes it really good. I like PB2 just normal but when I have extra calories to spare I do that. I also like it with celery. I just love PB2- it is totally worth the money.... but the other thing I recently found was DaVinci's sugar free peanut butter syrup... (it is usually used in coffee shops but I use it in my shakes. AWESOME!!! no calories.
if you are worried about the expense, here is a blog that has a recipe for making your own.
kind of.
