Hang in there...I've been there and it's tough. I was put on Metformin and fairly quickly lost 10% of my body weight without even trying. This motivated me to actually put some more effort into getting more fit, and I got pregnant within 6 months. Before I was only having 3 periods a year...yikes!
Since then, I've had two beautiful baby boys (now 2 and 3) and unfortunately gained back a whole bunch of weight plus extra because I stopped working at it once I had kids...ugh Incidentally, I continued to take 2000mg of Metformin throughout both pregnancies. I am thinking of going back on Metformin even though I don't plan to have more kids.
I've been on glucophage for a little more than 3 weeks now. I have also been trying to eat low carb, other than a few peanut m&m's here and there. I am down 4 lbs., but as soon as I eat a carb the scale goes up a lb. I haven't had a period since july 2007. How long did it take you to get a period on the glucophage? It's also very hard for me to lose weight. The scale just won't budge anymore. I am also exercising now. I am also getting very frustrated. Just looking for some support to keep me going. Also, we used IUI and follistim injections to conceive our first child and I would really like to know what it's like to "just get pregnant" on my own without all that planning. Sorry, I feel like i'm venting, but I guess I'm just a little frustrated with the hand i've been delt.
