I have PCOS and I want to know if there is anyone out there who has the condition and have been able to concieve. My start weight was 285 but I am down to 248 but still not ovulating. At what weight did you start normal ovulation and concieve naturally (or use infertility treatments). My docs will not do in vitro until I am down to 200 lbs. Debbie
I have PCOS. I used fertility to conceive my oldest son, and my b/g twins. After that I got pregnant on my own twice. Once with a set of identical twin girls that I lost @ 24 weeks pregnant, and then again with my baby girl.
I went to a nutritionist and exercised. I think I was about 160 when I found out about the PCOS. When I got pregnant with my last baby though, I still hadn't lost alot of babyweight so I was around 170.
I don't know much about invitro. I got the fertility shots because I have an ovulation problem. Good luck to you!
I have PCOS and I conceived my first baby by taking 500 of Metformin once a day. I resumed normal cycles after about 5 months on the medication. I weighed 190.
For my second baby I ovulated on my own at a weight of about 177. Losing weight definately helped for me. Talk to your doctor about other options besides in vitro. Have you tried Metformin? It was really effective for me and there is no increased risk of multiple babies.
Good luck with losing weight! There's also a really helpful site www.soulcysters.com that helped me a lot.

Clomid and Metformin (pills) are a better way to start and much cheaper than IVF. Both work very well in patients your size. There is no reason to go straight to IVF
I have PCOS and I am currenty 7 weeks pregnant with my first child. I went through one year of fertility treatments (clomid and menopur injections) with no success. After discussing my condition with my doctor, she and I agreed that a carb conscious diet and excercise would be the best option for me rather than metformin. I decided to take a break from the treatments two months ago and start training for a half marathon. I am convinced that the increased running is what helped me get pregnant.
