Peach Pancakes?

Quote  |  Reply

I have my heart set on eating pancakes today, but unfortunately we're all out of blueberries, and as much as I'd love to use chocolate chips, it's just not worth the high calories. The only other fruit I have are peaches. I could chop them up and put them in the pancakes just like I would with blueberries, but I'm not sure if this would taste good. Has anyone tried peach pancakes? Should I go for it?

You'll never know until you try ;)  People eat peaches on waffles, so maybe peach pancakes wouldn't be that horrible tasting.  I say go for it.

I also have pears... but I'm a little bit more skeptical about those...

I tried them, and they were really delicious!!! I'm beginning to think that you can't go wrong with fruit in pancakes. Maybe I'll be ambitious and try the pears tomorrow.

I've had pear pancakes! :) I thought they were really good, so give it a try!

Another idea would be applesauce as most of us have that somewhere in our cupboard.....or even jelly/jam spread on top. I have out bananas on my waffles, pancakes and french toast and they give enough sweet so that you don't need syrup.

You can go wrong with fruit in pancakes/oatmeal
Kiwi's and grapes
BUT you cant go wrong with fruit ON pancakes. I would have stewed the peaches in their own juice/microwaved and used sugar free maple syrup and natural yogurt on top, or cinnamon :)
But good try  too :)

I want to make apple swirl pancakes one day

Mmmmm peach pancakes...my mom used to make those when I was young, I loved how the bits of peaches were hot and their water content seems to make them steam and expand so they are puffed in their little pancake pockets...yum. I think I may want some this weekend!

What do you think about putting melon in pancakes - i.e. cantaloupe? Or would that be too weird?

Ok, this is my thread. I am a pancake junkie. I have tried melon on my pancakes and it is not too bad. I like berries the best. Peaches sound really good too. I use sugar free Mrs. Butterworths syrup and Smucker's sugar free topping too. I recently started using Buckwheat to make the pancakes because it is a complex card, I was using low fat bisquick but only use it once in a while now. I love waffles too. Damit, now I am hungry.

The best pancakes I ever ate were banana and chocolate chip (just a few, so it was actually not too bad). Oooohhh those were delicious.

I don't think cantaloupe would taste very good hot and I think it would go watery...but who knows. Probably better as a cold topping.

Aple cinnamon pancakes rock too.

I am not a big pancake fan but you would not know it to hear me wax ecstatic about pancakes eh ;)....I think I just like the add-ins so much. My ex was a pancake purist and only allowed them plain. I refuse to ever be subjected to plain pancakes again!!

My favorite pancakes are pumpkin pancakes! They are about to be back in season at Ihop *mmmmmmmmmmm*. I found a clone recipe somewhere for them. I have yet to make them myself since I would totally eat ALL of them. But I look forward to October every year just for those pancakes lol.

If I were to make cinnamon pancakes, how much cinnamon should I put in 1/2 cup of dry mix?

You've probably already had your pancakes by now...

but I say, go for it! :) For me, anything sweet will do.

Are you making these from scratch?
Peach pancake used to be a favorite non-diet dessert because of how I made it - pancake in a bowl covered in cling peaches but soaked in the canned syrup.

Funny how I never liked maple syrup much but a pancake with maple syrup now sounds criminally awesome!
